well for the first time ever, I wanted to watch during the commercials. that was during the punk/cena match last week. anyone know if the match exists in its entirety, commercial footage and all, anywhere? or does that shit go straight to the wwe vault, never to be seen again...

Yeah, no kidding. So very few guys today can cut those types. Not including the older guys like Rock, Jericho, or Taker, you can count those who can do those types of promos on one hand. Whereas in the earlier years, namely guys like Rick Rude, Jake Roberts and also Randy Savage, were masters at it.

The bigger news here is that Vince's hair doesn't look like crap anymore.
WWE posted the entire match on Youtube a couple of days after the show but it's offline now. Chances are good that someone downloaded it and uploaded a copy somewhere.

Cat tries to convince Buff to switch sides, because as men who love their mamas, they are both good hearted men. Buff ambushes Cat. SWERVE! Why are you doing this to me, WCW? You put on a great show the night before and then give me this shit after teasing me with Positively Kanyon? Buff spends the whole match working over Cat's neck, despite his knee injury and taped up ankle. Kanyon comes out. He gets Buff caught on the ropes, leading to a double arm DDT and Blockbuster. Buff wins. Kanyon Cutter to Ms. Jones. BANG! She's dead. I'm sure this was a way to get her off TV so they can stop paying her.
TO THE BACK. Ms. Jones was taken out in an ambulance. DDP tells Cat to go with her.

Lash got a hair cut. He looks even dumber.
I'm sure Steiner is going to knock his curls straight. He immediately walks up and punches Lash right in the mouth. Good. Then he throws Lash into the front row where some people were shit talking him. This is just a mean squash. Rick wins with three DVDs.

I doubt Hugh will get much more offense than all of their other matches. About 2 minutes into it, Hugh gets knocked off the ropes and hurts his knee. Of course. Hugh gets to the ropes from the Maple Leaf. Moonsault. Hugh wins! I guess General Rection name was bad luck for Hugh.
TO THE BACK. The American Dweem heads to the ring.
The American Dweem comes to the ring. I love that WCW really did a JHV of Dusty's WWF music. Complete with cowbell and the same fucking chorus. Dusthy is hungry and eats some chicken in the ring. This is the greatest thing Jeff Jarrett has ever done. His Dusty is so dead on. It's great. Fruit of my loins, oooohhh if you weeeel. We have an exhibition showing what Dusthy can do. Bionic elbows for everyone! The fruit of his loins, Dustin if you weeeel, comes out. Rick Steiner ambushes him. Guitar shot. I don't know why Dustin cared so much. DustyDust was about as offensive. Maybe even more so.

Or doing a Kanyon Cutter to one of the chumps at the end of each session as a reward to keep you motivated? KANYON CUTTER! BANG!

Y'know what, brodawgs? I've managed to hype myself up for Punk/Taker. If there's one guy the streak can realistically end with at this point, it's Punk. He has a good few years left and that win would put him on an entirely new pedestal which he could in turn use to put someone over when HE'S retiring. Plus 20-1 is a way better number than 21-0 or 21-1, or 22-0, depending on when and how Taker hangs it up. And Punk's the only guy left fans wouldn't be absolutely pissed off over if he beat Taker.
IDK, I just don't see the point of Taker remaining undefeated through retirement. Punk's the only guy on the roster right now who could take that win and milk the hell out of it, AND it would add some legitimacy to him if the Austin feud ever happens.
But this all depends on Taker retiring THIS year instead of WM Pornography......which he probably wont....so Punk will just lose in a pointless match and Taker will end up fighting Brock or someone next year....Hype's gone again.

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking. If Taker did decide to pass the torch, there are only a handful of people he would do it to and Punk would be the best choice given his passion for wrestling. Sure, he might "retire" at some point, but to see him fully leave the business is unimaginable. I expect Punk to be on the Mania card for at least another decade or two, as long as he's capable.
Now, nobody says a streak has to begin with never losing at WrestleMania either, as I said yesterday, why not start a streak by beating 'Taker, next year he can go, I went 1-0 against Taker, I beat Taker, I am not the WrestleMania legend, then he goes 2-0, 3-0, etc.
It makes business-sense too. They already did the Streak DVD when he went 20-0, if he continues to go on it'll end on a random number. Nobody will ever beat 20-0, but it would be nice if someone could get near that number and they can tease them breaking it. Taker would also just go on a few more years, a younger guy could go another 10 to 15 years at least and be more profitable that way. After all, when Taker does retire, WrestleMania loses one of its main marketable matches, continuing The Streak with a new guy makes alot of sense.
This of course hinges on Taker actually wanting to end the streak, what he says goes. But it's definitely a possibility, more than it was in previous years. Besides, he doesn't really have to quit this year either. What if Punk beats him this year and he returns one last time next year to put him over again. Can't see him going 21-0 and then retiring at 21-1 by putting someone over next year. If he's ever gonna have someone go over him and beat the streak, it would have to be this year.
I'm not convinced either Cena or Punk can be elevated any higher. I think they've reached their apex and it's just middling at this point, as noticed by the ratings once you remove the big stars in Rock and Lesnar. If he wins, it's a bullet point in any feud he has like how Miz went on and on about "main eventing Wrestlemania" and how he won over Cena, blah blah. I mean, once these heavy hitters are gone or are not around, the roster still consists of mostly trash because of how absolutely terrible Vince and the booking team are.

This is not the news I wanted to wake up to, Bearer my man, as a managing mouthpiece he helped make Taker and Kane during their silent phases and still had a great part to play when they both started talking up more often.
My favourite manager of all time, i'm gutted, my hopes for Kane/Taker yet again at WM30 wont be the same without his wailing voice.

I'm not going to get myself excited for the idea of Punk breaking the streak, because then I'll be all the more bitter when it doesn't happen. It would be fantastic to see Taker put over Punk like that, though, especially as he gave Punk practically nothing in their last feud. Also, that would certainly take away some of the sting from the inevitable Cena victory that will close the show.

That's probably just the Nakamura fan in me talking - I could actually see him losing to Davey Boy Jr, as Davey's supposed to be the next challenger for the IC title and having him beat Nakamura in the cup would be a good set-up. If Nakamura doesn't win it, I'm going for Kojima - it's been a while since we've had a Tanahashi/Kojima singles match and, while Okada would be an obvious favourite, I think they're going to keep him and Tanahashi separate for the time being.
