The scenes you guys are talking about.

I think Jeff is the only one with thoughts. If the VGCW keeps up with the quality of the last show, I don't doubt we'll hear it come up in a few Bombcasts.

Why did Jeff have to get interrupted when talking about VGCW? I wanted to hear the crews thoughts.

Jeff's probably the only one who watches it, which makes sense because he was big into wrestling before he fell off.

But really they should all watch it, that stream is beautiful.

How often does that thing happen? And does the guy just let two computers duke it out, or do people control the action?

It varies. Sometimes it skips a week, sometimes 2 times a week.

It's all CPU. The only time he actually controlled a character, IIRC, was when he came out as "Baz McMahon" to serve as guest referee in the grudge match between Little Mac and Zangief because of the Soviet Screwjob.

Everything in that last sentence is a real thing.

2-6 CPUs fight each other, no match fixing (except in cases of plot fights), glitches are fair game in most cases, Bazza just plays DJ. Normally runs once a week on a random day, Bazza will tweet when it's happening 8 hours beforehand.

E: I didn't notice when I watched it, but Jeff was completely absent from the Wednesday stream.

Thanks for the answers.

But... there's no way that Gaben mega-suplex thing just happened on its own, right?

Edit: Hm. That @SleepingDogs tweet to Vinny is now mysteriously gone. I wonder why that is.

WWE '13 has a gameplay system called "OMG Moments", where you can basically spend stored up finishers (like stored up supers in a fighting game) in certain specific locations around the ring, in order to do crazy stuff.

Imploding the ring like that is a thing that's happened twice in WWE, when Brock Lesnar (and later Mark Henry) performed a superplex on the Big Show and the ring collapsed.

During the AI vs AI match, one of the characters used the OMG moment to collapse the ring and win.

I'm not sure of the criteria that make it happen, as far as when in a match it can happen or whether character weight plays any sort of role, but that's what happened. It wasn't pre-set to happen by the match creator or anything.

The one where Nappa suplexed Gabe and the ring broke?

If that's what you're talking about, it's very rare for AI to do it. It's an instant-win if they pull it off, but it requires them to store up their finishers. AI wrestlers usually do finishers as soon as possible.

That last episode of VGCW might make me watch that show every week. The illegal finishing move angle in VGCW was perfect. It's just too bad it's not exciting at all the watch the actual gameplay in WWE 13, I'm not sure I could watch the stream live.

The live, insane chat is what makes VGCW so much fun.

It was great because

A) It really was an unfair glitch that nobody in the audience knew about
B) It actually did impact some of the most notable matches in history and some of the most famous of the wrestlers
C) People became attached to these fake computer people essentially rolling dice for 15 minutes

The greatest storylines and character "development" in VGCW usually spring from some quirk or glitch that catches the audience's attention.

The very first real storyline that sparked the current direction of VGCW only happened because the AI was bugged and couldn't knock down a dude on a ladder. The match ended in less than a minute, Bazza thought "well that's anticlimactic, I'll do a rematch," and the chat lost their shit because "the management" was "screwing" Zangief from Street Fighter and that Little Mac from Punch-Out!! was a corporate fraud getting a push.

Ok, Vinny is on my shit list. He described Thief's stealth as "Draconian." He is wrong and I shan't forgive him for it

Kidding, obviously. But that's underselling how damn good Thief's stealth is.
