Okay, TeamCG. Come own up to your foolishness. #trolljima

Is Joakim Mogren CG?

Kojima is a Twin Peaks fan I take it?

Also to the CG theorists, why would they go through the trouble of a CG interview when they can hire anyone off the street and bandage up their head? It's such a ridiculous waste of resources

The answer is pretty obvious.... because they're trying to sell how great the FOX Engine is.

To reveal the awesome tech they developed and reveal that people believed that he was real at GDC.

It is easy to take a still frame and say it is CG.

But that interview was not a still frame.

It was a man talking. I don't care how realistic your skin is, it is about the eye movement, mouth movement, and that was NOT cg. I know you guys want to believe so fucking much. But it just isn't.

You think Kojima is going to announce a game? Lol phantom pain exists inside of all of us and only when it is out can we truly walk free of pain. This is the instrumentality of the human race. You know it to be true.

To show off the engine.

..but....but.....believe....

Pardon me if someone already covered this on here, but I'm just copying what someone said on Destructoid, because it was somewhat relevant to this.

I figured out why it's called Moby Dick Studios!

Moby Dick was written by Melville. Filmmaker Jean-Pierre Melville took that author's name because he was a fan of Melville and Moby Dick. Jean-Pierre Melville's second film?

Les Enfants Terribles!

Yes, because a big burning whale wasn't enough....

The cuts were very weird tho. Seemed like a very staged interview.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't say it's CGI, just that it was not conventional. Then again, it was a dude with his face in bandages, and we're talking about Kojima... everything is possible.

Anyone know what the deal is with the shadow of the railing here:

They are called CG steps. They occur when you divert 99% of your power of the engine to make the head and face look and move ultra realistic. The 1% is used for the rest of the frame.

Everyone's wrong.

He's totally a robot. They just need more matching skin to finish his face.

What if this is some sort of brainwashing, the guy has been brainwashed by Kojima and Co, and truly believes he is a developer at Moby Dick Studio. It would explain his strange brainwashed expression.

This image is silly. It's way too small to have a chance to tell which is which(even though I can see what appear to be freaking jaggies on the right images) and, conveniently, no high-res versions of this were released.

Look at the horse above and tell me it doesn't look magnificent.

One more thing: He has a tight bandage wrapped around his face and nose. He must breathe through his mouth. Take a roll of bandage and do the same. Check how "natural" you will look and feel.

Trying to act a scene in this condition must've been hard as fuck for the poor guy.

I think the main point the image shows is how good the lighting is and how good lighting makes things look realistic.

Well, real or not they certainly took steps towards at least giving the impression that it's potentially faked. Specifically DoritoPope and NotKojima never being in the same frame.

No wonder Geoff looked so jagged, all them Joakim polygons.

found this Fox Engine screenshot online from gamesradar. that the eyes kind of resemble how the Joakim Mogren are angled, not saying its him just saying this is an early render

An early render from 2011. Right.
..

GAF kill me now.

And wtf at the guy saying you can't move your upper eyelids without moving the lower ones, does that mean I'm a mutant? I should give CG Professor X a call.
