patiently waiting for a next-gen Mirror's Edge. Aside from a poorly-constructed narrative, I fucking loved that game. Pure Time Trial was the best DLC ever. I still play those maps from time to time.
 
Next gen graphics.

Same lame ass current gen gameplay.

Scripted shitty set pieces, press x to win, walking and more walking, terrible ai, linear as hell for a BF game.

These midern shooter are out of ideas and are basically tryingto reclaim the COD4 magic.

Yep. Going from Bad Company 2 to BF3 was huge. But BF3 to BF4... not really. And they chose to show a desert that looks just like the desert in BF3. Ugh.
 
The wide open battlefield portions seemed promising along with ordering squadmates to suppress in order to allow you to flank. I really hope we see more of that in the campaign because wide open battlefields in SP was something I greatly missed from BC1.

There's a part with plenty of foliage, that looked even better than Crysis 3 to me.

Looks like Battlefield 3 but a little pretty prettier and with out all stuff in you face. They should've shown some multiplayer, or at least teased it at the end. Single players seems to be another CoD-clone like BF3.
 
Strangely the most busy part, the forest, looked way better than the low geometry parts.

Also sorry if people though next gen was going to look way better than Battlefield 3. It's not.

This has already been confirmed for next-gen consoles @ 1080p 60 fps

actually gives me hope for games that aren't 60 fps, because this wasn't super impressive. deep down and kz:sf were more impressive

Not confirmed at all. The Chinese leak said 60fps, though, so it's likely.

Her part its probably a cutscene, just like on BF3, it had a huge disparity, especially in faces.
 
Don't even know why they bother to put in a single person campaign.

I'm pretty sure the only reason people play it is for the multiplayer.


Looks pretty though.
 
Gorgeous graphics, mostly in the lighting department. BF3 already had nice lighting, and this looks like a solid step up. Unfortunately it looks about as fun to play as BF3's campaign. Looking forward to some multiplayer footage.

Uhhhhh....alright. Let's agree to disagree there.

To people saying this isn't possible on PS4: why do you say that? To me, Killzone: Shadow Fall looks much better than this does. Different art styles, sure, but yeah.
 
Battlefield 3 on PC is already a generation ahead of consoles, so I wasn't really expecting anything more than I saw in this video. Nice improvement though. And LOL birds o' clock.

But yeah, single-player Battlefield.....woooo?
 
I would have rather seen MP, but this still excites me considering no one should have expected MP footage for the unveil even in a BF game. There's a lot of time to do all of that still and their first goal is to catch people's attention who haven't already heard a lot about BF4 like people on here.

Maybe I'm just patient since I was one of the few that didn't mind God of War: Ascension focusing on MP for so long. This game isn't coming out tomorrow and there's plenty of time left to wow us MP fans and other gamers.

I want to play as Omar in MP though. I'd laugh at seeing like 25 Omar's on the U.S. side in MP.
 
God, DICE's sound design is freaking incredible. The way the echo/reverb, and surrounding noise from weapon fire changes when he flanks those enemies in the building with the shotgun makes my ears drool. I want DICE to create a more urban crime shooter so bad just to hear these weapons in a setting/atmosphere I enjoy way more.

This video was not 60fps lol. So why you bring that up makes no sense at all. You don't even know how this will run on what PC hardware. On a side note, I fully expect the PS4 version to look close to this.

Also, how do you even bring up the PS3 and BF3 as a comparison? Lol. BF3 came out in late 2011, that's 5 years after the PS3's initial release, at a time where PC GPU's were order of magnitude more powerful than that in the PS3.
 
The graphics were really pretty but otherwise it looks like your standard shootbang campaign. Does anyone actually give a shit about BF single player?
 
so what was y'all's favorite parts

mine were:

when there was war but also un-war things like music and children's murals, because games are art now
when the guy stood in a window in an almost literal shooting gallery
when the guy playing didn't immediately shoot the enemies in sight so that they could pantomime some squad mechanic or destruction or whatever
when everything in the world exploded and they fell 50 feet onto concrete and slammed with falling concrete debris and survived
press f to cut leg
driving sequence

I noticed that right away. Almost made me feel as if the larger portion of what thy showed was the next-gen target or something, and that end bit was PC ultra. The gameplay segment looked nuts, but the overall production on that end segment--holy shit if it's gameplay.

Looks downright unbelievable visually. The game does just about everything right graphically and then some. More interested in MP, though, but that did look fantastic.

Not that i care about Battlefield myself, but i can use it as a techdemo for frostbite, which will be used for Mass Effect 4.
That might get me back into it.
