If they can improve the AI of enemies, single-player might not be so bad. Sure, the linear scripted stuff has been done to death, but it can still be a good distraction. My biggest issue with BF3 was that it was just frustrating. Everybody shot at you. Everyone. You're with a whole team of people and you were always the only target. That really took the spice out of the gameplay because you always had to play exactly the same way throughout the campaign.
Something different and more open-ended or maybe a different setting would have been nice, but eh, I'll be playing for multiplayer anyways. If checking off the CoD-style campaign box helps sell them more copies, whatever.
It looks amazing, though. Cant deny that. I'm guessing next-gen footage should look similar or maybe even a tad better?
One thing I am disappointed at is the gunplay and everything seems straight ripped from BF3. Doesn't really seemed to have improved any. The shooting, aiming, driving, all looks and sounds exactly like BF3. Thats something where I thought there was room for improvement with the last game. Oh well.
Looking forward to seeing what they're doing with multiplayer. I'm guessing its mostly more of the same, and I'll be ok with that, but I'd like something mind-blowing to really step up the hype. Otherwise, its going to be plagued with a ton of Battlefield 3.5 criticism.
