When I saw that you needed to press F to cut a guy's leg off, I felt like I was witnessing the birth of a new meme. Has it happened yet?

Man, now I have to keep playing BF3 wit it's now 'out-dated' graphics for 8 months till this comes out. >_<'

Along with Dice saying the MP maps will be huge, I am exciting seeing how open the SP maps are since that means the MP ones will definitely be much larger.

I'm going to be doing soooo much in BF4 and the share button will be my 'no, THAT'S how you do it!' replyer on youtube. :)

I'm just thankful suppression is gone.

Flinch is still there and ridiculous, but suppression literally made your shots not go where you intend. Horrible mechanic.

Did bfbc2 use suppression? or any other games for that matter? Wasnt familiar with it so i looked it up and thats infuriating. Thats why i can have my sights directly on someone and alot of the times not hit him, thought it was lag or just me being terrible. Glad to hear its gone. That has a huge impact on the game, maybe with out it i would have liked the game, among other things.

Awesome, awesome ,awesome trailer.

Also best use of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Ever.

Some things did take the immersion out for me though:

1) The reloading at the start before he went to cover Irish...waht was that for?I'm pretty sure the gun wasn't empty before that (assuming you don't clear a building you've never been in before with an empty mag)

2) Cover! We really need a cover system! Something similar to the one from Killzone 2/3 would be great. I don't even see lean, that is quite disturbing, especially for "next-gen"

3) Overuse of rockets being fired from the chopper. The trajectory and where it would have it would have destroyed the vehicle 10 times over. Need to tone it down! (Same for the cannon rounds which are supposed to be 30mmHE)

4) Ordering Squad-mates: Either he should say something over the radio or make proper hand signals. Cause right now, something seems off about that hand signal and that beep sound makes it seem like he's pressing a button?!

Otherwise Day 1. I LOVE IT.

Peace.

Where did DICE say the MP maps will be huge? I'm out of the loop thanks to Bioshock.

When he was going through the building the ammo count was 0/0. I thought it was because some stuff had happened just before causing you to only have your gun but losing all ammo, but then he simply reloads normally without anyone handing over anything so it really makes no sense.

Somewhere (whether it was an EA rep or a Dice rep) said BF4 maps will be 'bigger than ever'. Seeing how large BF3's later maps are (and my own impression of the BF4 SP map design) made me say 'huge'. So the official word is 'bigger than ever'. Even though they might be referring to post BC1 era, it is still good news.
Sorry for the confusion.

When he reloads from empty; 30 rounds. Then when he reloads again without fully emptying the magazine; 31 rounds. I think it was just a nonsensical thing they included in the demo to show that double reloading to chamber a round is still in the game.

Personally, I don't like cover systems since the always ad a hiccup to the flow of my control. I like BF's system. If I want cover, I just crouch behind an object without having the control or perspective change at all. You can add sliding or something, but I don't like the view or controls to change at all. That's just me.

One in the chamber. BF3 along with other shooters do this. happens in real guns too.

no offense but Destiny right now to me is a pile of poo.

Now I'm sure Bungie is a great company and they will make a decent game

I think why I feel this way is because their so called previews essentially don't show much of anything and we just get a few seconds of gameplay and concept art. I mean WTF. So yeah that really pissed me off and may have clouded my judgement.

Right now I'd easily pick KZ:SF over Destiny.

I like FPV cover if implemented well. But I'm not disappointed it's not in BF4.

What does kinda bother the shit out of me, is... still... no fucking lean. Ugh.

Yeah, I can't stand FPS cover systems. Lean would be great. Arma 3 has a great variable height/stance system: each position (standing, crouched, and prone) basically has a high/med/low variation. Easy to switch between them all, too. Don't think it would work with the pace of BF3's MP though.

Well if you're basing judgement on how much of the game you get to see in a trailer, I can't help you there. All I know is, Bungie makes spectacular games, and I'm sure Destiny will be no different. Trust me, I wish we'd get to see more of it as well - and I wasn't saying Destiny is better than Killzone (apples to oranges), I was only posting in jest.

Edit: Anyway - BF4 is looking good! I hope the lighting and explosions translate to PS4/neXtBOX

Fair enough riverbed, I see where you're coming from. Maybe adaptive system like in Far Cry 3 (which I still haven't played) seems to be smooth with no additional controls?

Either way there should at the very least be a LEAN function for godsakes.

As for the magazine, I'm just going to put it down to poor editing, or they really wanted to show off a reload animation and timed it poorly.

I'd really like to see them cocking the Charging handle....thought I'm not sure how they will put that in since you're in combat and the rifle should already be loaded, so there's no need to chamber a round. Still love the E-Spring animation thoguh (:

My thoughts exactly Anton! I was afraid to mention it for fear of being told by the GAF community to GTFO and go play ARMA 3.

But you're right BF is too fast-paced for something like that. Just at least give us lean PLEASE.

MoH IP is dead in the water... it's time for DICE to steal their one-button incremental lean system.

Just steal that shit. EA probably outright owns it.

What I wish I had in BF3 is the ability to cook grenades (keep holding a hot grenade to better time the explosion upon impact). It adds a tactical advantage to be able to do that. I can't tell you how many times I had a perfect grenade kill only for the target to notice the grenade landing next to them then sprinting off to safety. Timing is everything.
IF they didn't allow for grenades to be cooked to stop the idiots that frag everything, just drastically limit the grenade count or do something else to address that.

Also, I know showing a 'throw' line is noob friendly, but I wish there was an option to turn it off. I like the suspense and added pressure of trying to throw a grenade into a second floor window based purely on skill as appose of showing you a virtual line of where your throw will land. That virtual line breaks the illusion for me and makes throwing a grenade feel arcade-y and less fun.

People seriously think the console versions are going to be 1080p/60fps? lol

PS3/360? No....
PS4/Durango? I don't see why that's so far out of the question. The graphics aren't that much better.

Going from 720p 30fps on current gen to minor step up in graphics (mostly lighting and particle effects) and 1080p 60fps next gen? I think it's doable.

Supression is the reason BF3 will never be taken seriously competitively.

It's probably more related to the broken hit detection, poor visual distinction between actual player models and the environment, almost no distinction between weapons, maps that don't work with smaller teams, clunky movement over uneven surfaces.

I don't have any grenade throw indicator... don't know what you're referring to.

Anyway, I'm already surgical with frags. If they let me cook them, that shit would probably be my best weapon. haha.

Seriously though, they would. Cooking is a bad idea.

Can't see the demand for BF being a "competitive" (assuming you're talking E-SPORTS competitive) shooter being very high.
