New Pokemon X and Y info cometh next weekend!

Who the hell thought that it would be a good idea to stick a pantyhose on Mewtwo's head? And why didn't anyone on the designing team think "hey that looks pretty ugly" and stop the creation of this abomination?

The design philosophy of Pokémon has changed a lot since generation III. Comparing them with first and second generation Pokémon is always... A difficultthing to do. I persume Ken Sugimori isn't designing them anymore?

I do dislike that weird Buu-like tail on its head.

Ken Sugimori *never* designed them all and still designs some each generation, but he is responsible for the official art for each of them. Some of his recent designs include Sawk and Throh in Gen 5.

Ken still designs draws most of them, but he completely revamped his style starting with Gen III.
 
Still blows my mind when I realize the ice cream Pokémon are actually icicles covered in snow. The icicle is the Pokémon. Clever design by an American

Keep in mind that they did exactly this for the last movie, with the 2nd poster showing Keldeo's new form, and the other characters in the poster having the exact same posts.

Having said that, at this point in time, our official position at Bulbagarden right now is that we're uncertain. It should be noted that it does fail the Pixiv test. There's no swarm of Japanese fanart for it yet. That is highly unusual for an announcement like this, if it was true.

The only acceptable expansion imo to the original Pokémon is to create a baby Kangaskhan that can either evolve into a full blown Kangaskhan or a Cubone under certain conditions. I would be so fucking hyped. I'm probably one of the few people who actually really like that internet theory.
 
Wow, even as a standalone design that is just bad.

Imagining it as another forme for Mewtwo? Yipes. Everywhere you look there's just bad design details.
 
I have to admit, while that thing looks sorta ugly... My mind is racing at just how crazy competitively a new Mewtwo forme could be in Ubers. Mewtwo has a fucking god tier movepool, so even a defensive forme would be pretty crazy stuff o_o
 
I am thinking it is real. Over the past few days I have been postulating the probability, ever since I heard CoroCoro promised something within a poster in the next issue. That plus the Mewtwo's Awakening, the note that we don't know the real Mewtwo and so forth.

It's quite possible, I'm just not confident either way yet

The 5th Gen starters flooded Pixiv as soon as we had their first images. Their evos didn't flood Pixiv when those leaked images first went up, which just speaks to how skeptical fans all around the world were of those images. So the Pixiv test isn't perfect, but that doesn't mean it's not worth considering. So, just as last time, we'll continue to remain skeptical until we've got a some solid evidence.

I've never liked the idea but I didn't care when it was only the new legendaries which are shit anyway. But Mewtwo was a good design and a great concept. It's not fucking Giratina that needs nonsense so people care. Or that ice thing from BW.

Mewtwo couldn't have an evolution due to its incredibly high base stats, unless they do the whole Scyther -> Scizor thing. And even then, legendaries don't have evos, they have alternate forms.

Difference is that those Pokémon were officially revealed through CoroCoro, not a leak on this scale, should it be a legit leak. It's illogical to assume that it'd be the case outright every single time, and you know it.

I'm not saying it's real or not, I honestly don't know, but there's enough evidence to support it and warrant my posting of it

Like I said, it's most likely a form than an evo. So it can't be this "Mewthree" bullshit. Sounds like people act like those old fogeys than rational people.
 
Serebii and Bulbapedia are off to a great start again this year. There's literally no reason to give this any credibility besides vague hints to what may or may not be a Mewtwo Forme. I'm highly doubtful.

The Keldeo movie poster did the edit thing, but so do a lot of fakes, so that's kind of a silly point to make.

Now now, none of that. There's no way to tell either way at the moment, and there's a lot of details that support the probable existence of a Mewtwo form. I'd have been remiss to not have posted this

At this point, all we have is a post on 2ch with an image. It follows the same sort of pattern as the M15 movie posters did, as I noted above, but all that means is that we don't have evidence against it, not that we have any real evidence for it. Copying poses from an existing poster is something incredibly easy for a faker to do, as Phazeta noted.

Because
a) it is a good quick acid test for what are the most common type of leak, magazine leaks
and
b) before we started posting that we'd get emails, tweets, etc, up to 2 weeks after a fake came out, asking it was real, and we're now getting substantially less of those clogging up our inboxes.

New Mewtwo looks ugly as hell on that picture, but I'll say it's because he's moving superfast or something.

We're talking about THE Mewtwo, he's gonna be badass in his new form, it's a given.

Unless... it's not a new form but an evolution -say Mewthree- in this case we have all rights to be alarmed :/

I'd say almost half of the Pokémon look pretty ugly, but this just looks unhealthy.
