New Pokemon X and Y info cometh next weekend!

I'm still undecided. There's enough to make me think it's real as I have been postulating about a new Mewtwo form for around a week now, but it coming so early before the pre-order stuff and so out of left-field makes me question it

I don't think that's true at all. When the XY starters and legendaries were revealed the reaction was overwhelmingly positive. Because, you know, they were good.

But an alternate form of Mewtwo? He was cool enough. Seems like at best like a waste of time.

Last time I checked everyone was against chespin and froakie and while fennekin got some love you have people shouting VULPIX.

It's best to ignore that vocal noise. I bet most people like it and the people who didn't were being overly vocal about their dislike.

It's not that I'm against Chespin. It's that it's just so unbelievably generic.

Froakie is the only unique looking starter, jussaying

at first glance it looked like mewtwo evolved into a giraffe. but then i saw his super thin neck. now he's just a majin-boo like freak.

How is Chespin generic when its design is based on a hedgehog, but instead of generic spines it has chestnut spines as well as a chestnut "helmet"? That's like saying Bulbasaur is the generic of the Gen 1 trio even though it's the most creative out of the three (and my favorite is Squirtle)!

I think Broly fits him what with all this conundrum :lol

puh-lease.

Chespin is a hedgehog-chestnut hybrid. Froakie is just a frog with a moustache.

Broakie is the best new starter, Chespin is second. Old man ear hair fox is last. Either way neither of the two are anywhere as awesome as Broakie.

Doesn't look that different from Mewtwo. The mindframe of believing that one is amazing and one is an abomination is a tad odd to me.

I'm not a huge fan of Fennekin but, really, compared to other animals foxes haven't been done to death.

The only two lines we had before Fennekin were Zorua/Vulpix, who are both takes on the kitsune, with Zorua being the more malevolent version whereas Vulpix is the more majestic one. Having a Fox Pokemon that's just a normal fox is kind of refreshing, and I hope they don't take it in a "supernatural" direction and turn it into another kitsune.

I also realized this totally fits with Smash's reveal.

You had three "?" boards, which people took to mean three New Pokemon but...

First board, some claim at the edges you can see the dark purple colors of this poster. So, first "?" is the New Movie Poster.

Second board, a bit smaller, probably the Sugimori Art full-view of Newtwo. So, second "?" is official art.

Third "?" is the in-game footage, which is probably what Pokemon.com will also show given that the movie has yet to be mentioned in the US, like how we got in-game footage of Sylveon, but nothing about its role in the film.

Still, this means we don't get new Pokemon. :/

Also this would mean Mewtwo is the first Pokemon to get a form that is cross-generation.

I actually really like it. It's simple, sleek and follows the same design style of his original form. I hope we have some more alternate forms of Pokemon that could potentially really mix up the battle system without giving it a complete overhaul.

I don't even think it's that bad if only his head would be smaller. I don't know why they're making the heads so big lately.

It was the same problem with Fennekin. If you look at the fanart where his head is decently sized, he's amazing. But the games don't use fanart :(

Chespin all the way.

And the new mew, if real, is still awesome looking.

I may even like it more than the original.

It looks like it's wearing a crown. How awsome is that?

The poster looks off, because his face is basically identical to the first poster. All that's been changed is the design around the head. Like a trace almost.

At least the Keldeo image was all new art?

You think they would give it a new pose or something? Or even stick him right in the foreground? Because surely new form Mewtwo is more exciting than shiny Genesect?

Also, the shading in the chest are looks off, and unlike any of the other art. And right where the Pignite is, Mewtwo's tail/head looks alot sharper/clearer than the Pignite.

I'm voting fake.

In that poster, Charizard's like 'god damn, Pikachu. We're getting too old for this shit.'

and then he tells Dragonite he fits right in because his design has always sucked.

I like the new Mewtwo, he looks like he can kick some ass with his mind.

He already had that quality.

I suppose it isn't out the question that Mewtwo could change forms given it was generated from Mew. However... I don't know, I think it just kinda goes against what Mewtwo was. Mewtwo never lost that psychic badass legendary feel throughout all these gens. Didn't really need this if it turns out it's real.

I wish Nintendo were still capable of designing legendary Pokemon as iconic as Mewtwo. X&Y are a step in the right direction so far, compared to gens 4/5, lets hope they don't ruin it with 20 legendaries again.

This has probably already been mentioned, but why does Sableye have his own mini-section on the Japanese movie website? Are we expecting a new evolution for it?

I think it looks pretty dope. Though it looks like it should be the "two" form and real Mewtwo should be the third form.

I reckon, if I may speak the language of Dragon Ball Z, normal Mewtwo is Super Buu and this new form is Kid Buu. Powerful in different ways, with no need of unnecessary bulk.

I'm expecting it to be this movie's equivalent of Munchlax in Destiny Deoxys. It hangs around the gang being all cute, and evolves to aid the plot.

Yeah probably is, just seems kind of odd to be "Sableye!!!!" all of sudden for no apparent reason.

Yeah, okay, I'll freely admit vanilla Mewtwo is already pretty hideous. But years of nostalgia and acclimation have warmed me to it, even to the point where I have some fondness for it. I'm not ready to give Mewbuu another 5-6 years to get used to. Eff that; gtfo.
