Giant Bomb Thread #4: A thread of perceived slights

Giant Bomb has to have a heel. A villain. Ryan was pretty much the full time villain before Patrick came along. Now they share the job. Everyone was aching about Patrick until he did all that work for GDC and Ryan did that dumb Kickstarter. So the baton's been passed.

Ryan is a much BETTER heel, since he doesn't seem to give a shit what anyone thinks about him. Also, he likes to incite the internet.

CBS execs posting in this thread confirmed

If Ryan came in here and said "No you guys are wrong these are the things I do x, y, and z on daily basis." I'd probably be inclined to believe him and never broach the subject again.

Dude, Ryan doesn't have to explain himself to you. Get over yourself.

He doesn't, but in that case the guy is free to speculate all he wants.

He didn't exactly say that Ryan is required to come in here and last some stuff down.

He said "Unless Ryan tells us what he does with his day I will continue to say he does nothing with his day."

Do you get why that's shitty?

No I didn't read my sentence again.

I've not once said that Ryan or any of the other guys has to do anything of the sort. He's more than welcome to continue doing what he does on a daily basis and never say a word. I'm simply expressing what would fairly quickly change my opinion on the amount of work he does. I didn't give some kind of ultimatum. If Ryan suddenly started pumping out a ton of reviews or started doing some premium video comparable to Spookin with Scoops I'd quickly change my tune too.

How on earth does Brad still have the same wallet from high school? I had a nice leather wallet that I had to replace after about five years of use because it was just too worn down. Brad must be a master at protecting his wallet or he's A LIAR.

God damn it Brad.

The things I do for Giantbomb.

I've been rewatching the VJ Deadly Premonition endurance run because you guys were talking about it. Despite them having more "fun" than BR team, I can feel how they were suffering towards the end game.

This makes me want a video of Patrick playing this solo until the end. You know, just so he would understand their pain. Also, this is kind of a Spookin' with Scoops kinda deal anyway, right?

Yeah, the V+J run of Deadly Premonition kind of slows down after the half-way mark. The first half is absolutely hilarious, though.

I'm at episode 20 of the P4 ER now, and while it's entertaining, it hasn't hit the same highs as the DP one so far.

I want to say that Patrick played through Deadly Premonition before coming to Giant Bomb and enjoyed it.

For perspective, there's about 130 more episodes to go and you're still warming up.

LOL... I'm listening to old podcast and in one of the 2009 cast a user write in to ask if he should buy a PSP or an iPod touch for gaming and they laugh at him for even thinking as the ipod touch as a gaming device and that he should definitly go with the PSP with no hesitations lol..... oh how times have changed.

Oh absolutely. For starters, the first twelve or so episodes where just story stuff. The youtube playlist I'm using is rather daunting.

Btw, is there a way to watch them in more than 360p, or was it recorded at that? I couldn't find a higher quality on youtube, but maybe it's available for subscribers or something.

I would still recommend a PSP over an ipod touch.

Lumines is on iOS now so there's no point in buying a lumines dedicated machine anymore.

The controls are terrible though, the PSP or Vita games are the only way to go on a handheld. Still bummed Electronic Symphony didn't get any of the planned dlc. THEY TOLD YOU TO LIKE THE INTEREST POST DAMN IT ;-;

The P4ER was captured at 360p, but using a higher bitrate than the one Youtube uses for 360p videos (which is why they look a bit shit on there).

If you want to watch it at a slightly higher quality (and have VLC, MPC or anything similar installed) - Go to http://pastebin.com/3k4ugE61 and copy/paste the links into a text file named 'P4ER.pls'.

If you're not enjoying it that much, I don't know if you should keep going. It's a massive undertaking. I started in November and I'm still not finished.

The first 20-50 episodes were really good, then it just dragged for a bit. Then around episode 90 or so it got fucking awesome again, and now I'm on episode 140 and its on some next level shit. This game is just nuts, and it really does have a good pay off for just watching. Even without V/J reacting to what's going on it's still really funny and really crazy on its own. Episode 117 is probably my favourite, it's so good, and doesn't even need V/J to be funny. Though they do add in so much.

It has really great highs, but at the same time there is a lot of dull moments. The first 2 dungeons are pretty great, but after that I'd suggest playing a handheld game inbetween the grinding episodes. I wouldn't suggest skipping the grind sections because there is a bunch of funny stuff going down in them. What I did was play my 3DS and listened to them like a podcast.

The tone of this post was intended to be different. But fuck it. Keep at it. Now that I'm almost done; the P4 Enduarance Run is some of the best GiantBomb related content I've seen so far. It's so good and I'm so glad I decided to watch this and stick with it.
