Have a feeling Sony are going to drop bombs this E3

Why is a platform switch of games that were already Sony exclusives and supposed to be released years ago considered a bomb?

A bomb is an unexpected announcement, like GTA 5 next-gen exclusivity, a FFVII remake or Shenmue 3. Or a $350 launch price.

Perhaps they will even hold back Uncharted 4 and Ready at Dawn IP due to so much bombs being dropped at E3.

I think they're going to have surprises, but I think people are over-hyping themselves as usual.

Why won't Last Guardian on PS4 happen? It would actually make the most sense.

I do agree a new FF isn't a huge deal anymore though. They're going to have to win people back with this one.

Both Naughty Dog and Santa Monica have two teams, so both probably have PS4 stuff in the works.
 
Yeah I expect big things but honestly Last Guardian and Final fantasy versus would leave me disappointed, 2 games that were announced ages ago or the ps3 and were even main reasons to buy the ps3 for me are not really shockingnews.

Also please no new Uncharted or God of War(except there is a setting change)... I want new IPs, not the same stuff that bore me already this gen

A completely new FF, exclusive to the PS4 would be huge. A renamed Versus moved to PS4 is not really a big deal as it would've been a Sony exclusive anyway.
 
Didn't someone say to expect a whole bunch of reverse betrayaltons like companies that went multiplat this generation going back to being exclusive for one platform?
 
I'm expecting them to make some insane announcements.

I think Nintendo shot its load early, MS will reveal their disappointing focus on kinect with maybe a new gears type game.
 
I bet they show off all the movie and music junk and we can finally stop this whole "its only focused on games" bragging crap. Sony knows if they want to stay relevant in todays market they have to focus a lot on other media to.
 
I think by revealing the PS4 early, and not really showing all that much as far as games go, they can manage all the "bombs" whatever the way they want to counter whatever Microsoft announces, so yeah E3 seems like the perfect time to counter the MS reveal that should happen in May

Nowhere near that dramatic, but Jeff Gerstmann said on the Bonus Round that he expected to see third-party exclusives to make a return.
 
They better. Though I doubt we will see much of the vita since now the PS4 has been announced. Remember last years E3 Vita part? Me neither.
 
Things we know about that I'm most excited for at this point:

1.) The Witness - Pretty self-explanatory. I don't game on the PC, so the console version will be the one to get for me, and I'm extremely excited to play Blow's next game, and from everything I've seen this is shaping up to be something fantastic.

2.) PS4's Features, UI +Infrastructure - This is the thing that worries me about the PS4. Soy is clearly swinging for the fences when it comes to games, but I'm going to wait and see for the features, UI, and infrastructure stuff. Sony seems to be on the right track, but I haven't seen enough to be convince.

3.) infamous: Second Son - Definitely the most interesting Sony exclusive that's been announced, and the trailer looked so good that I thought it was CGI. I'm still going to expect lesser gameplay visuals, but I'm hope Sucker Punch proves me wrong.

Well, more than a feeling I think we all see it as a necessity. They need to sell us a new console, what better way than with Megatons?

Huh? Everyone already knows they will have that stuff, and I've never seen the "it's only focused on games" quote you are talking about.

There is a difference between focusing on games and offering only games. Literally no one believes the second to be the case.
 
And I still don't get why the next FF would be exclusive to the PS4 anyway, unless it's a Final Fantasy VII remake or something. Square seems to be really in the shitter right now, and I would guess that they'd want their baby on every console they can, especially since people are going to be super cautious after every game from FF XIII on being what they are.

Im not a console gamer but one of the biggest arguments I see here used against MS is always the it wont be a games focused machine. But clearly it will be the same for Sony's, matter a fact I think Sony hasnt mentioned it yet because they are waiting to see what MS will be doing on that side of things.
 
E3 2013 will melt faces... for the first time ever, microsoft and sony consoles are launching together...... last time was wii and ps3 and the first time was xbox and gamecube...

This is the final possible combo and everything is at stake...


Expect bombs the likes never seen before ^_^

BF4 is announced for PS4 and DICE themselves are really excited about the console based on their twitter posts. There are no rumors about GTAV. It was just a random website's speculation, not based on any sourced info.

You seemed to not have the memo.

GG has been confirmed working on a new IP.
Naughty Dog has two teams the other one hasn't done anything since UC3.
SSM had another team with Stig working on a new IP
Japan studios is massive. It has over 400 people (possibly even more now). Team Siren haven't done anything. Gravity Rush Team have not done anything since gravity rush. Theres also Team ICO with Last Guardian.
MM is working on a PS4 IP. Tearaway is a small project.
Quantic is already working on a PS4 project

You also seemed to have forgotten:

Ready at Dawn: working on PS4, new IP have not release a game for 2-3 years
Sony Bend: haven't released a game since UC:A
Polyphony Digital: Obviously GT6, been in development since 2010. GT6 could very well come in 2014 or even 2013
Clap Hanz: Everybody's golf most likely.

Thats a total of 9 games disregarding SCEJ. Sony have definitely not revealed everything

And I still don't get why the next FF would be exclusive to the PS4 anyway, unless it's a Final Fantasy VII remake or something. Rumour goes that Sony is helping SE with development so thats why its exclusive.

Well if we follow the rumour it say FFversus will become FFXV so its still a megaton. Wrapping a 6-7 million game as exclusive is huge.
 
There's one thing we should all be excited about: the self-important people at all of the big players will furnish the forum with infinitely re-quotable embarrassing quotes and gifs.

I have no excitement for the PS4 as a product, but Sony's policies might change things up a little in good ways. I have a little more excitement for the new Xbox, only because it's still a big secret: knowledge hasn't been able to turn it into yet another mid-spec machine with a lot of restrictions. Nintendo is just going to be awkward, as always, even if they have something awesome to show this time.

Nintendo has to defend itself from two new consoles, while the other two are trying to get you to buy their new box. This E3 is going to be.... legendary.

I agree with rob, I want fresh new IPs too. Throwing some new things into an old game series is fine, but I want some new, interesting games to pop up at E3. I can't recall where I read it, but a one dev stated they like to launch new IPs with console launches as people are more willing to try new IPs then. Bring them on devs!

Nintendo needs to do this more than anyone else, imo.

i think it's coming for PS3. KH3 (and continued 3rd party support), IMO, is one of the reasons Gran Turismo 6 will be a PS3 game. Sony has likely promised many 3rd parties that they, themselves, will continue to support PS3 (in spite of PS4's announcement/release) and use GT6 as an example.

i fully expect Kingdom Hearts 3 exclusive to PS3 announced @ E3. 3+3+3, LOL
