It sounded like the Nintendo HQ always had NOA by the balls so I'm not sure how much this will change things.
Nah, it was Iwata will resign himself to taking on more roles within the company. So not only did Iwata not resign as he suggested, he kinda got a promotion? lolz.
Not sure shuffling current people is gonna help.
See, more proof that Nintendo doesn't understand online! Iwata, you don't need to come to America to troll NeoGAF, you can do it right from your home in Japan!

Isn't WiiU doing better in NA than in Japan? I truly dont see how he's going to turn a 30 Billion yen loss into a 100 billion yen profit.

Iwata is so incompetent he can't even resign correctly.
As above this is a token change at best. Ever since Howard Lincoln and co left NoA have been nothing more then puppets and placeholders for Nintendo Japan. Like hell NoA have had any influence in the way Nintendo operated in the past decade. They just do what they're told.
Iwata and Nintendo Japan have no clue about the western market or audience IMHO. They're too Japan-centric, to isolated internally, this token change of the guard won't do shit to fix the Wii U. If Nintendo had any clue about the western market they never would have released it
So Iwata has an out, and Nintendo can train his replacement now already once Iwata is relieved of his duties as CEO in the future?
When does he start this role?
I assume that's when Iwata will assume the role of Nintendo of America's CEO as well.Kimishima will assume his new duties in Kyoto later this summer.
Mother 3 confirmed for US release.
Iwata can't even speak American, though.
I updated the title a bit.
The guy who was NoA's CEO was promoted to the Japanese position most likely to get Iwata's job were Iwata to leave, and Iwata subsumed his old job.

Yes, this is the same position the new CEO of Square Enix moved to before Wada left.So in other words, he's the new guy in CEO of NCL training.
