Giant Bomb Thread #4: A thread of perceived slights

Did anyone call out Brad for this sentence yet?

If I'd come out of Dead Island with a burning desire for more Dead Island, Riptide would go down a lot easier, but since that original game started out strong and just got weaker as it wore on, playing through another 15 hours of almost exactly the same thing, when the first one already felt like more than enough, instead just becomes a tiresome exercise.
Dead Island Riptide review

Oh sorry, I should have specified. I figured it was obvious from the use of five commas in one sentence.

I thought at first maybe it was intentional, like he wanted us to feel that reading that sentence was similar to playing the game or something.

Yeah, the fact that it is a run on/overly convoluted sentence was clear to me. I just thought you had a more insidious intent. Like that he was factually wrong about something, or that some element of the sentence proved that his review was tainted.

From the latest I Love Mondays: "Soul Sacrifice is like the only thing out retail this week."

So, I guess we probably can't expect any coverage on the Deadly Premonition Director's Cut, huh? :P

Yeah, I was being a bit facetious with the 'calling out' bit.

I'm fairly certain the audience loved DP wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more than the GB crew did. I have a feeling it's a game that Jeff would rather not ever deal with again.

I think the only one that outright hated it was Brad, judging from that one GOTY podcast... Jeff liked the narrative parts to a point. That's why I wrote that quote on the back of that card box. :P

Jeff isn't going to look half bad when he finally accepts his baldness. It doesn't look good on some people, but he could pull it off pretty well I think.

They may have liked the story (and they definitely liked Francis York Morgan), but it's the gameplay. I think they really hated the gameplay.

Hasn't that been updated though?

No. From what I've seen and read, it's not enough to justify paying 20 dollars again. Much less for twice the price. Hell, it's worse than the originals in some way. I'm surprised Swery would sign off on it but whatever.

Watching that Trailer with the new suits and Emily (that's her name right?) wearing that Bunny outfit...

what the fuck indeed.

Am I misremembering or something, because I remember the Brad and Ryan Endurance Run ending with them more positive about it than Vinny and Jeff.

Hasn't that been updated though?

Sort of. They removed the tank controls, and made the combat way easier. Not better, though. The framerate seems to be a lot worse than the original 360 version, as well as retaining a bunch of performance issues from the original PS3 version.

But when has a game being bad prevented them from doing a Quick Look? :P

I don't think it is this one because the logo on your link is at the bottom on the wrist rest with nothing at the top, but his keyboard has a small logo on the top center of the keyboard and no wrist rest. It does look like it could be a Logitech logo though...

This looks like it might be it... although on his the Windows key logo is slightly different than the one in the linked picture, but that looks a lot closer. I can't believe he'd have a solar powered keyboard though...

Edit: Okay you were exactly right. In case for some unknown reason someone else cares, he says it is the Logitech Solar Powered keyboard in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uL6XgDJV88.

Mission accomplished. Now to find out if it's any good as an actual keyboard :).

You just did :)

That is one hell of a run-on sentence. I remember when Brad was trying to write a review on one of the Friday shows and he said he was unhappy with one of his sentences because it was too long. Then the review hit and it remained pretty much unchanged.

More periods, Brad!

Or just change a comma to a semicolon.

I say bring on the long sentences! If people in the 17th century could handle them, so can we!

I have one. I love the feel of the keys, but the keyboards themselves seem to be prone to failure. It also has some issues when it works. You need a lot of light, so it should be next to a window or near a lamp unless you want to leave a light on all the time.

This might not be normal either, but mine drops into sleep mode after a minute or so of not typing, and you have to physically turn the keyboard off and then on again to wake it (typing doesn't).

I'd get another keyboard, but this one's keys have exactly the right amount of springiness to them that I want, so it's hard to switch.

The Twitch Downloader extension for Chrome was pretty good, while it worked right, as it allowed you to individually download each 30 minutes chunk of past broadcasts from a channel's video listing.

However, after a couple Twitch.tv updates, it broke the Twitch Chat and the links it generates are no longer clickable (you can generate a buncha links and click them when they leave from behind Twitch's webpage div, but that's a less than ideal situation).

Anybody knows of another one that works as intended? Maybe one not in the Chrome Extension Store?

I really wish they would update it/a new one would come up.
