Giant Bomb Thread #4: A thread of perceived slights

So where is Dave working now?

It seemed like one day the guy just disappeared from the site.

Did they do any kind of 'Dave's leaving' thing?

He's taking time off to spend time with his new family. He actually left when his wife gave birth. They haven't done any kind of going away thing as of yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did something sometime.

Dave posted a goodbye but they didn't have a video about it. My understanding is that Dave's not working anywhere right now. His kid is either born or just about to be so he is going to focus on that.

Edit: they should of had chilie once more

Never going to happen - it was Dave's choice, as Jeff put it here and here.

Dave said all it had to be said on his Blog page, which you can read once the site comes back

Hmmm... I read the blog post but I didn't know that Dave wanted to leave relatively quietly. I guess that's that.
I think it's because he still wants to pop up here and there, and he hasn't really been in any video features for like a year. Bit weird to then all of a sudden doing a leaving feature like he's a regular.

But GAF remembers. OT5 soon.

Whew, just got through the first 50 episodes of the P4 endurance run. Man, that is a long-ass game.

The endurence run itself is pretty good, but so far has not been as hilarious as the first half of the Jeff+Vinny Deadly Premonition ER, in my opinion. Still, I'm glad I stuck with it so far.

Also, I have a question about the
summer camp
:
Did I uderstand correctly that Kanji went to the girl's tent, got knocked unconcious by a startled Chie, and got dragged back to the boy's tent? All that is said is that Kanji went to the girls tent and woke up in the boy's tent, but I didn't really get what was implied.

Yes. Not that the anime's events necessarily reflect the ones in the game, but I think that's how one's supposed to interpret it.

They're all the same as Persona 4 Golden and Persona 4 Arena with the exception of Naoto and Kanji in the latter half as Troy Baker was on a honeymoon.
The fuck?

What type of schedule are they working to if they would rather re-cast than wait a week for someone to get back from vacation?

Jeff talked more about Dave on his Jar video. If you're a premium user and you're interested on this situation, there's more for you there.. :D

spoiler - it looks really boring. almost unfathomable after that trailer, but all I see is ZZZzzzzZZZzz
I had the same reaction but I'm not sure it's the game's fault. First they show you the remaining side missions after they've already "finished" the game and then they eventually switch to show you the opening tutorial near the end. Contrast this with the video TB released which actually shows some gameplay in the manner normal people would play and it doesn't look nearly as boring.

The dub is pretty crap, and I'm not one of these 'anime elites' who always says that - I don't watch anime at all - but fans of the endurance run (or Persona 4 in general) should give the anime adaptation a shot. It has some pretty cool takes on events in the game in it, especially
the main character also having to face his shadow as the others did right at the very end.
There's lots of similarly interesting twists on the game throughout.

I'd love GB to do a return to TANG with Jeff and Vinny watching and doing brief reviews of an episode a week or something. A TANG endurance run, per se. Would love to hear their thoughts and reactions to how a game that's undoubtedly quite dear was adapted. Considering Jeff was quite kind on P4A (4 stars) in its review I think he still has a lot of time and space in his heart for those characters.

LOL at Jeff in the latest Jar time.

The question is "If you were loosing money before the buyout, why would you stop loosing money now that you are with CBSi"

His reply: "Less sites in the fold. It's the two big sites making money together without the rest".

His baby was already born when he made the blog post (he had a picture up) and yea he's not working anywhere and just chillin with his family full-time now.

And now according to Jeff it will be like he never left since Dave now lives in Jeff's (and Ryan's IIRC) area now LOL

So i missed it all. Dave left, Rorie comes on? Any other changes?

Vinny actually wears plaid shirts.

Jeff handled the two missions they spent most of their time on (which weren't the most exciting in the game to show especially the shark one) in really boring ways, and then they did the tutorial mission and cut it when it got to the actual game part.
Not a really good look at the game in my opinion.
