This episode was a shitload worse than the dinosaur one outside of the :sdburton. Cheap in every department; even the audio looked like it didn't pass through post-production at times.
tl;dr Ami episodes are a blight on this show

I'm already used to Tuxedo Mask saving the day all the time, but here it was even lazier than usual! They didn't even show his entrance! Not to mention the denouement is blegh in general. Koan's halation was handled better.

Duckroll was right. Devil Survivor 2 really is an inferior version of the first Devil Survivor. The talkytalkytalky bits of episode 5 kind of just rammed that point home anyway. Simple morality, simple characters, stupidly complicated conspiracy. It almost makes sense that this would be the game to get the big push and not the first one.
I think I'll just finish the anime so that I don't need to play the game.

After slogging through episode 4 I'm not sure if I want to finish the anime, even, let alone the game.

From impressions, it seems I should occasionally nibble at the game instead of watching the anime. It may be inferior to the first, but it's not called Waifu Survivor for nothing! So, I'll kind of probably eventually get through it, maybe.

Dinosaur sakuga is the best sakuga.

Like a lot of adapted media, the game is much better.
Still in terms of story though DeSu > DeSu2
DeSu2 has the better waifus though.

TL. Kept waiting for them to get it on in that guy's bed. Blugh. Guy totally gives him porn, too. I don't even. Ah, well, anything that gets Hero Boy slapped in the face is fine with me. It was comical, and they all reacted somewhat independently from one another for a change. Once the mecha action kicked in, though, this episode really hit its stride, and was probably my favorite in the show so far. The team actually worked together (by not working together) to overcome their difficult task and carry the day.
Not all that bad, will keep watching.

Mardukas makes it waaaaaay worse, then Sousuke unwittingly tells everybody he has a special relationship with Tessa (he's thinking of captain and subordinate, they're thinking boyfriend and girlfriend.) and pisses off Kaname in the process (let's face that that isn't hard to do.) What doesn't add up is that Tessa claims her father and Sousuke's guardian have been friends for a long time, so she's been allowed to play with Sousuke since they were young. Except everybody in the class knows Sousuke has been moving from warzone to warzone as a child and so the two stories don't mesh.
The truth, of course, is that Tessa's dad never met Sousuke, but died a long time ago. Kalinin, Sousuke's legal guardian, also never knew Mr. Testarossa. Tessa's past is a bit more messy than all this anyway

her mother was having an affair, Tessa saw, and mom dubbed her the unfavorite after that, even offering her to enemy agents when they attacked the house. Bereft of her parents, Tessa would eventually come to work with Mr. Mardukas, who was indeed a friend of her father.

Well I guess this depends on where you come from. Here in Finland most people don't have any problems seeing their siblings naked as they have gotten used to it since childhood because of our sauna culture.

A clow card AND love rival? DOUSHIO??! I think I enjoy these clow card encounters that add some danger as opposed to the ones Sakura captures because they're causing a ruckus. Since she can become a super cool swordmaster now, maybe those kinds will become more prevalent.
