No thanks, I'd prefer not to buy Legends of War.EDIT: Top of the page recommendation: Buy every Vita game available.
Am I the only one who's getting a little bit tired of all these indie announcements? Don't get me wrong, I love the initiative Sony is doing and there's some gems in there - hopefully like Hotline Miami this month - but I just didn't buy my Vita for indies. I want AAA games that are tailored and exclusive to the platform that showcase its power.
There's a big Gran Turismo event next week. Sony better announce a GT for Vita.
GT PSP sold a ton, a Vita version would be a very good thing for the Vita.

Don't expect Gran Turismo or anything else not announced yet, apart from multiplatform indie games.

Sony can give me all the indie announcements they can get - just wish they would mix it in with announcements of bigger games. The problem is right now it's only indie announcements.

Wait. So you think Sony themselves won't make games for it?
Well, not only indie games - they announced Epic Mickey 2, Invizimals, Jak & Daxter Collection. As far as big games like Uncharted, Killzone or Assassin's Creed, Sony has historically only announced them at major gaming events like E3 and Gamescom.
IIRC they also have Sly Collection coming. I believe Sony knows they need software. That's why I fully expect 2 brand new titles revealed at E3 with the hopes of pushing Vita.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say GT Vita could be likely... the second game is a mystery...
End all be all, if sony wants to sell vitas, they gotta bring the games... a price cut isn't enough, but it will solidify the deal

It is important to keep in mind that Sony (SCEA) especially only really announces big titles at events like E3, and the VGAs so if they are going to do so then it should be in a couple weeks.
If the Vita gets stuck in a corner and they ignore it then sadly we will have our answer on that front. Indies will ensure my Vita stays with me though, games like Terraria, Spelunky, and Hotline will get a solid amount of playtime out of me.
Fixed.
Hey! a bit off topic but im working on my Gameroom so any ideas to spice it up would be appreciated

I know you're a little bitter about the lack of game announcements, and that's fine because I don't like it either, but lets be realistic. They obviously will continue to make games for it. They continued to make western PSP games when it was doing terribly in the west. And I know it was still doing better than the Vita is now, but the PS2 did a lot better than PS3, yet PS3 gets even more Sony support than PS2. It's not only about the sales when you're talking about first party development.
remove photo of you and your significant other and I think you're good to go!
but really - get some nice framed gaming artwork up on those walls.
Agreed. Looks good but doesn't really say "game room". Definitely some art/posters on the walls. Maybe a shelf with some gaming memorabilia?
Except it's pretty obvious that Sony prioritizes home console development over handheld development. We wouldn't have the huge disparity in lineups on PS3 and Vita this year if it wasn't the case.
welcome back! ^and i agree x1000I canNAWT believe X-2 HD is HAPPENING I just Caaaaant your faves will never ever
KWEEN YUNA COMING TO SLAY ON STORES YET AGAIN THIS YEAR LIGHTNING COULDN'T EVEN

They do and it's probably understandable for them to do that with their demographic [although I worry they are confusing economy problems with interest due to various things], especially given this is the year the PS4 launches. But no way will we not have the most amazing handheld library ever by the time the systems done. It's like not even 1/3 of the way there yet. Don't believe the lies. It has been the second best selling platform for a while now, okay Japan likes their handhelds more, but they also like 3DS, and most have one already. Knowing how hard it is to convince 3DS users to buy another handheld and the way iOS made people play games portably, it's not unreasonable to expect considerable growth imo. Especially with a decent advertising budget. Really hoping Vita goes hand in hand with PS4.
I haven't changed my avatar since the PS3 launch.
Where did you find those pre-order options?PSY・S;57259330 said:https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/21282_375077569280305_443235373_n.jpg
Oh goody, avatars that Vita-only users can't even use.
Edit: Here's the other Preorder option.

It's only been #2 in Japan, and the PSP has shown that success in that region means little when Sony is fine in allowing those games to rot as JP-only .
But only Japan has had the price cut so far, and they've been pretty western focused to me, I remember people suggesting they may start working on Japan again but I don't think so, seems futile mostly. Unless Nintendo drops the ball by switching too much focus to Wii U.
Western PSP users all pirated, come on, they'll make more of an effort!
I'd argue that Japan should be the one Sony pours money into Vita since PS4 likely won't be doing much business there. They bought 50 million DS and PSPs last gen. The problem is that Sony's done fuck all to build their IPs in that region, and don't seem interested in buying the third party games needed.
Buy every Vita game available.
It really is insanely dumb now small things like that still haven't been fixed.
Hey, want to change your avatar?
Oh, you don't have a PS3? TOO BAD
But.. I want to have a unique avatar.
Sorry, we just can't figure it out. It's too hard!
I really wish I could change it from the Vita, I usually do all my gaming on my Vita these days so I wish it was a one stop device for all the PSN settings/features, but it's not. Do you guys think it's the ancient PS3 holding it behind it terms of connectivity (because they can't figure out how to have them communicate fully) ?
Japan is pretty small though and competition with the 3DS is so high, despite them loving their handhelds...There is potential for a lot more world-wide imo but yeah that's not really safe.
Seems they clearly intended to start off with western support with the Vita anyway though, given the launch titles and main game focus.
Maybe they also know they can't really compete with people who already own a 3ds as well and are giving people time to enjoy it? As each year passes I only see Vita comparing stronger with the 3DS unless Nintendo is really ontop of their game for the whole cycle (...) or Sony fumbles the Vita fast and strong, which I have faith they won't.
They do seem hesitant to invest with the Vita again recently, totally agree. I can't blame them, but I'm hopeful they'll show stronger support when things are more certain. Sucks that it seems that will take a while with rumours of e3 being pretty uneventful for Vita in terms of new stuff :/
1. Guacamelee! (New)
2. Urban Trial Freestyle (1)
3. Sound Shapes (RE)
4. Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (6)
5. Soul Sacrifice (New)
6. Table Mini Golf (New)
7. Ragnarok Odyssey (2)
8. Doodle God (10)
9. Draw Slasher (New)
10. Persona 4 Golden (3)
Guacamelee! also took the top spot on the PS Vita chart, and actually outsold the PS3 version by a significant margin.
Where did you find those pre-order options?
Things are not going to get better. Retailers are not going to continue stocking Vita, and third parties aren't going to suddenly start making a tonne of games. Betting on the west was incredibly foolish, especially given the most successful western IPs on PSP still aren't on Vita.
Honestly I'm still angry about how many PSP and PSone games require transfer from PS3 to work. SCEA hasn't added any more onto the Vita store in ages.

In theory I hate this attitude, but in practice I understand.
When I'm actually sitting at my computer, willingly not doing other things I feel like I need to play something complicated like the Civ series.
When I'm using my exercise bike, or there is a dead time at work, playing a game like T was alone just seems perfect.
That's all the more reason to give them a chance to catch up over the next year or two, and people have been saying that about retailers since it first came out! Ridiculous, Vitas are tiny, there aren't even that many games and not storing Vita will make people think your store is behind the times. Hell in Japan it seems they'd be more likely to remove big Wii U space or shelf it with the Wii.
West made more sense than Japan to me. iOS made people bored of gaming on the console. Worldwide market access, 3DS dom in japan with its year lead.
Price goes down in west, world buys it, third parties jump on board and things get better. Seems like a logical path and no one can tell without the research how much a better price would tip things. Sony would have done that research. They're not going to give up on it, it being their only existing stamp on the dedicated handheld market and all their research to make an incredibly capable device. It also affects other parts of their company, even the home platforms so pulling it makes absolutely no sense to me. Opportunity cost lol. How about the actual cost of what you spent and threw away because you didn't support it enough.
Yeah it's weird, I think they're trying to avoid putting more games out that have those CFW exploits but at the same time there are lots of games you just can't get unless you have a PS3. It is dumb.
I wanted Suikoden 1 before on my Vita but I didn't feel like buying it on PS3 and transferring it - eventually I caved and went through the trouble but what if someone wants to play said game and they don't have a PS3 to transfer it from? They're screwed.
Instead they're putting "import games" onto the Vita PSN which makes EVEN LESS SENSE because they're COMPLETELY IN JAPANESE .... seriously wtf is going on at SCEA?
Retailers can, and will convert the little shelf space devoted to Vita towards 3DS, PS3, PS4, 360, etc.
If there's any market that has been enamored with mobile game to the detriment of traditional handhelds it's the west. Japan has had pretty complex phone games for years and that never hurt the PSP, and DS. I don't think people are getting tired of iOS casual gaming either, or else things like Puzzle & Dragons wouldn't be making millions. I also feel it's foolish to think the 3DS owns a monopoly over the Japanese handheld space. The DS was a stronger performer and the PSP still sold 20 million units to that platform's 30 million in the region.
A price cut will only work if there's software to continue momentum. Sony's not going to suddenly get Activision, Take2, Bethesda, EA, and more to make Vita games when they're already abandoning the platform.
