I'll nab this one, thanks.

Chuck you are in! Thanks for joining us I sent you a PM with some early details.

That avatar wall. My lord each little picture reminds me of my youth:)

Panzer REPRESENT!

I wont' mind pay for next gen Live Gold IF they add/stepup services/goodies that are really unavailable from any other console.

I really doubt that all services/goodies will be for free on "the other" console.

Microsoft needs to make multiplayer free, if they want F2P games, they need to allow everyone to play that games.

I'm exited for the reveal as i am for any video games system anyway.

They, MS, can make me buy the console day one if they have the games. Bring PGR5 please and for sure i'll be there day one ! I'm still playing PGR4 and i can't believe how this game is still looking amazing and plays like a charm.

As for paying to play online, we will again pay to play online, MS wont make it free, deal with it.

Differnet subscription models maybe?
Bronze is like Silver now.
Silver is multiplayer and demos etc.
Gold is everything.

Bronze = free
Silver = ?
Gold = $

What I think:

- Silver = Like today but with basic online, maybe multiplayer online only with friends or maybe multiplayer online only with unknown people. No online achievements, no streaming.
- Gold = pro multiplayer, with online achievements and streaming.

I'm finished with work here in Germany when the reveal starts. Just not if I watch it on my Xbox. My girlfriend is likely to occupy the TV at that time.

Bronze (default; free) - Free online play, nothing else.
Silver - $60 a year, free game-of-the-month plays, all apps unlocked, some free Arcade games
Gold - $100 a year, all Silver features, 5-10% discount on game purchases, family members get their own accounts too

This is hard...MS is too stingy.

You should jump into the discussion with us? I would love to hear what you think when everything is said and done.

I like the idea of a % of on all digital games. I also think it would be great if you played games and got things for it like more discounts and so forth.

Hmmmm I thought that GAF is supposed to be pro-Sony, looks to me like there are plenty of Xbox fans here too. Seems like Nintendo is the one who gets the most flak these days...anyways here's hoping that MS puts on a good show and the funny GIFS continue. Carry-on console warriors for I am entertained!

They need to simply have silver and gold have online MP free and then make sure that gold has some digital stuff, games and so forth, as well as maybe some timed events that are only available for gold. I have always wondered why both companies don't offer FAR more for the price. I get the free game on "+" but I would love to see actual event stuff for the premium members. Or what about them being able to test out new apps before they go live, be able to enter lotteries to beta test MP games? Stuff like that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing that they shouldn't, or that it wouldn't be better for us if they did, I just don't see how they are going to give something away for free, that they've successfully charged people for, while replacing it with something that will cost them more money to sustain.

As long as Live membership stays strong, I just don't know how we are going to affect a change in the price of MP.

Ya no I mean I agree. I am sort of just hoping they have figured out SOME way to even the field a bit. I guess in the end they had better make gold WORTH IT. Like OMG gold is a DEAL. Which they could do while still making people pay for MP which I don't like. But if Gold offered all kinds of crazy awesomeness then I would bite. I don't mind paying...but I also don't LIKE it:)

I like that idea. Sadly it's not Microsofts style.

I would imagine it will all be Gold...

Gold Basic(free):- free basic MP + access to all apps.
Gold Plus(£40pa):- Basic + Xbox Video/Music subscription
Gold Ultimate(£60pa):- Plus + dedicated servers for all your favourite games + a form of cash back loyalty scheme

There are 5 rooms I could watch it in. No way my wife would stop me.

However, I'll be at work....in the field...and nowhere near my office PC. So I'm still screwed. LOL...:(

I don't like the "bronze" name, I think it is better:

- Silver or Free (current name): free
- Gold: $59/y
- Diamond, platinum or Gold Pro $99/y

I'm down for anything that adds free content to my Live subscription (paid through March 2014 anyway).

Free movies, music and/or games? Hell yeah.

Sadly, I'm not holding my breath on this. Surprise me MS!

Not going to happen. Microsoft is still sitting on a cash-cow. If Live numbers were going down then yes, they'd consider having a free option to play. Instead they keep talking about Live memberships going up. That's not good news to those looking for free online play. I actually expect two paid models happening instead of one. The second will be even higher but have TV channels included and a larger cloud storage.

Price increase would be incredibly stupid and could deliver a death blow to the service. I like the idea of a tiered subscription though.

Bronze - Free online play.

Silver - $30 a year. 5% discount on all purchases, one free Arcade title and 2 free Indie titles that users vote on every month through the dash.

Gold - $60 a year. 15% discount on all purchases. one free GoD title along with 2 Arcade titles and 2-3 Indie titles that users vote on every month through the dash.

Well, they can implement some "basic" multiplayer online, no achievements for example, or "pro" services like gameplay streaming for gold.

That's what I'm thinking they'd do, just for the hell of it.

Especially with the onset of Free 2 Play games coming to consoles, yeah.

EDIT: oh people already talked about this in detail ^^^^

6 days, and then E3 season kicks off with the MS Conference.

Nintendo Directs everywhere, no more secrecy about platforms, leaks ahead of press conferences, E3 preview shows...

It's the best time of the year

They'd do it if Bronze users couldn't use chat or invite people to games/join games.

nice, subscribed.

Awesome if you want to jump in we have a couple spots left for this discussion.

I am currently trying to get all my subscribers to move off the old channel to the new one you just subscribed too. BLARG youtube has crap for messaging services to subscribers.

But it will be a new generation, new users, new things. Xbox Live Silver/Free was born thanks to current generation, new generation, new things (I guess).

Subscribed, though I'll be at work that day so unable to participate. Will still have y'all on so I can at least listen to the discussion.

There seems to be more hatred now for paid online play than there was at the beginning but a lot of people are already so invested in that system that they wont change. I do wonder if MS hears the complaints though and have something planned for the next gen.
If they want to make a splash during their conference, free online play would be one thing to do just that, imo.
