Just got back.
FUN AS HELL to watch.
And the reveal, I already knew, but it was still quite enjoyable to hear and see it.
Or maybe you're just being unreasonably critical and/or have poor taste? Because if pretty lights and explosions are all it takes for critical acclaim, Transformers, along with the billion other critically lambasted high octane blockbuster action films out there, want words.
Soooo I kind of feel like people are overselling this film. I didn't think it was "amazing" by any definition of the word.
It dragged a bit in spots, and could have used a few more locations. It's also very predictable, and most of the dialogue is average at best.
Still, it was pretty engaging and entertaining enough. Effects were good, and I'm keen to see Abrams take on Star Wars.
Also, guy needs to tone down on the bloody lens flares.
Can't wait to see it on Friday! I just wish Toronto had more 2D high quality screenings. Correction, ANY 2D high quality screenings.
I watched it on UltraAVX 3D. I'm watching it again on Friday, and I think my friends and I are going for the regular 2D version for that.
Need more 3D opinions if you guys got them.

Edit: Oh and (spoilers)This woman was sobbing hysterically a couple seats down during the whole Kirk/Spock glass scene. I think our entire row was kinda glancing at her and going "did you forget about the clearly set up Khan blood/tribble scene"?
The blood had no effect on the tissue sample up until after that point, so there's no way she could have known it would work beyond just guess work or plausible assumption.
They had already established Khan's Wolverine-like healing and it's a pretty safe assumption that in sci-fi science, that it'd happen. Plus the scene is so completely removed from EVERYTHING else that's going on that it's clearly a "set-up" scene with no other purpose then to serve as a convenient plot-point reminder.

On the other hand, his blood causing somebody else to regenerate makes no goddamn sense.

so im guessing its worth the admission for IMAX 3D?
A lot of people are getting hung up on this. The point wasn't whether Kirk was going to be eventually revived or not, the point was the moment Spock and Kirk share as Kirk is dieing. Kirk coming back doesn't ruin that scene.
Episode VII will be better than the Abrams Star Trek movies just because of the fact that Orci and Kurtzman aren't writing them.
Loved it.
The only thing that jarred me out of it for a brief moment wasScotty stunning Cumberbatch with one shot in space, and then when they were capturing him at the end Uhura having to fan the trigger to shoot him down.
Minor quibble. Was great fun.
Oh, and the scene wherewas kinda ruined by the people in the cinema ._. Still very good scene!Khan reveils himself as Khan
:lol My girlfriend kept saying either Star Wars or Star Trak during the movie. She also asked who Star Trak was in the movie (thinking it would be like Super Man, Spider Man etc).
Die Hard is my favourite action hero.
