The only thing I don't agree with is kinect - they will include it every box. Its their major differentiator (and for a lot of entertainment experiences it does add value... voice search).
However lets be honest, there's nothing in kinect that enables voice search - it could work through the mic.
Still, I 100% believe a next gen kinect will be in every box.

Non mandatory Kinect is complete bull.

), though.It's so stupid that we can't use voice controls in the dashboard in Norway. I don't need a localized version of the voice controls.
Just give us the option to activate the English ones. I had no trouble using them when I used an American account.

a change in attitude from Microsoft. I´m in Europe, so I know the new Xbox will have tons of nice features that I can´t use, bacause they are limited to the US (and some UK)..
They just seem to forget that there is an audience of gamers outside the US.

Problem that there is close to nothing MS can do. In germany there is no Netflix so how should MS be able to give it to me then? At least they have apps for Sky and Lovefilm but they, of course, can only cooperate with Services which are available in your country.

But the point is that you don't have to hold/wear a microphone for that, and that's what makes it convenient.
Indeed... I won't blame Microsoft for the lack of ESPN or Netflix on French Xbox Live when those services are not available on PC either. MS can only ask/help local providers to add their own services, and they seem to do a decent job here, many major channels have their app now.

Background noise cancellation and multi-directional voice location wouldn't work with a normal mic. There's no need for that if every person using the machine wears a headset, but that's unwieldy and defeats the purpose of making the machine more accessible.

I know that... but these apps are one of the main reasons for getting Gold. I ould never buy Gold for online gaming only, but for some of the cool apps and possibilities that MS is hidding behing the paywall in the US, Yes I would buy Gold.. but in a small invisible country like the one I live in, Gold ONLY offers Online and Netflix. That sucks... if you see what all the other countries are enjoying..
And I know MS can´t change that, but they could try to make Gold a little better for countries without all these services/apps.. lower the price or offer something else. It just feels like you pay the same for less..

While I agree that Microsoft should focus more of their attention on Europe, some of these problems are results of licensing issues, and there's not much that they can do about them. They could pursue deals with more local content providers, however, and I think everything is already moving in that direction.
Is there an app planned? Didn't know of that.

On either platform, I hope it happens.
I almost never use those apps and consider live worth it for the online and chatting with people, but I do hope that you get some good apps oer there.

This has nothing to do with MS, this is due to the local providers blocking this. Stuff like Netflix doesn't run in most European countries. Blame our stupid copyright protection bullshit.

Pretty sure MS has studios dedicated to just this stuff. Or at least one. I think LA?
You have it backwards IMO. None of the services should be behind gold, you are already pay for them with this like Netflix, so MS putting them behind another pay wall is not acceptable to me. Especially when you can get them on almost any other platform for free.
BigPark made some of the sports apps iirc.
As I said.. "I would like for MS to change it´s attitude"... like : Change the way Gold works. (or rather drop it completely, but I know that won´t happen)

I think there is one in LA or SF only doing this kind.
again for all the netflix probelm not being available everywhere (here in italy we dont have it!)
they could/SHOULD put a monthly subscription to xbox movie/music.and not make u pay to rent or buy just one movie.....i would love to pay for it as i would love to have netflix in my country

Just read that leak. It's intersting but we've read too much bullshit from pastebin for anything to be considered reliable. The bit about using MS mouse tech in the controller for apps and interface navigation is very interesting, could open up the platform to strategy games finally?

I think this post quoted meaning tv apps, not 360 apps. I mean like smart tv that usually free to use. Nowadays near all TVs have smart tv support, aka the reason why TV model number is regional only.if you was answering to me ...again in MOST of europe countries there isnt netfllix....

That studio is dedicated to producing original content for Xbox Live. I'm pretty sure that most apps are not developed by Microsoft.

or cubovision
but arent like netflix...there r like 80/100 movies...nothign big like that
for this reason to solve this problem ms should use their xbox movie service....witha subscription model

Smart tv free and common, 360 smart tv is not free. (Nothing to do Netflix topic, just an example for this topic.) So MS need fix that.
