well i'm sure they won't considering how greenberg commented on no reveal and spent a whole day talking to people about what they grade sony on the reveal. but we'll see. greenberg is just greenberg.

I've typed out what Aaron Greenberg said on the podcast:

We're really going to tell one story across two events. So we're going to start on the 21st and really that's about revealing the next Xbox platform, really our vision for the future of games, the future of entertainment. We definitely have a lot of surprises planned. I know everyone knows the Infinity Ward team is hard at work on world premiering the next Call of Duty Ghosts so we're going to see what that looks like for the first time. People are going to get a great inside look at really the making of the new platform and the team that's brought it to life. I mean to be honest it's really about the team, the people here, that's why we're inviting people to campus, we're going to bring them behind the scenes a little bit, we've never done this before and so it's really exiting to be able to do that. But I think it's a lot of laying the foundation, probably the best way to describe it, and then just a couple of weeks later we go to E3. E3 is all about the games.

I'm listening to it now, didn't really imply that they're only going to show CoD, just that there will be an emphasis on the new hardware (naturally) and that E3 will be "all about the games".

They probably didn't mention anything about any other games at next weeks event because they're a surprise.

Okay, so it sounds like there will be more than one game, but not many big reveals or game demos. Ghosts will likely be the only live gameplay demo, the rest will likely be short teasers/sizzle reels.

Not surprising, this is something I've expected from day one. PGR5 had better be there or I'll be pushing over a shitload of magazine racks.

What I got from it is they didn't want to squeeze everything into their E3 conference and so split off the actual console reveal into it's own event so that E3 can focus on games only. Of course they are going to show what the new Xbox can do at the reveal but I think every expected they weren't going to show everything in an hour.

You didn't miss anything. They pimped the CoD reveal because they know its a huge deal (commercials are running for it during prime time), talked about the plan for revealing the console etc but never once said they're not going to show anything else. What a weird interpretation.

People based their purchases on the fact that MS called the new Xbox an entertainment console. Tables were flipped. Every single piece of news will have posters, who made their mind up years ago about Xbox, coming out of the woodwork saying "No thanks."

Sort of yeah. Makes more sense than the PS4 reveal. Their momentum has faded a bit while MS can go with a strong 1-2 punch.

Well maybe what they are hoping to do is have a loooot of demos

And that's hard to do in a 1.5 hour event combined with showing off the hardware, the OS, etc

Also Microsoft at Xbox 360 debut started showing only titles within the year of the release window... I think with print dying and all that... It's harder to get hype rolling

Maybe they realized this and are starting to show and announce titles further out allowing for more content at conferences (reveal at one E3, demo at next) because honestly... It's better that way. Games sometime get lost in the buzz so it's nice to have 2 events to showcase... Great for big budget B titles. AAA can release same year without issue.

It's an hour-long console reveal. Anyone expecting a slew of games to be shown isn't thinking intelligently. Sony's show was 2 hours and had what? 6? Most of which weren't even shown.
