That's a really poor excuse, to say come back later to see what you would have liked to see today. Sony's conference was pre-E3, yet we got tons of details about the console specs, footage of games, etc.

What we saw today was a different mentality. Really, Sony and Microsoft have reversed. Last time around, Sony was the one talking about how they were the one stop hub and how they were going to be your entertainment solution. Now we're getting the opposite tact. Sony is positioning themselves as the hardcore gamers console, and Microsoft is showing us how they're trying to bring entertainment and games together.

Horrible conference. Didn't learn much of anything. Hopefully more details come out from press impressions post-show. The 3 OS's running at the same time, that just sounds like a memory hog. Wonder how much of that 8 GB of RAM will be usable by developers. I'm guessing 6.
 
This made no connnection with me. Hopefully the next next gen manufacturers will make consoles for playing games. This is quite disappointing from a hobby perspective.

Same here. I really did think they were talking about the first Xbox many times throughout. It's not me being snarky or anything, it's just for a split second that's what I would think. Especially when they were talking comparisons. Hell, even here I typed out Xbox 1 before replacing it with the first Xbox.
 
As somebody who watches a lot of sports, I've never understood why people want all the extra fluff like they showed today. I just want to watch the game, get all that other shit out of here.
 
If Microsoft doesn't have the equivalent of Sony's Share button and live streaming then Microsoft is not even a consideration for me because the Share button on PS4 is literally the most exciting thing about next gen for me.

Their biggest reveal was CoD, which I'm sure will enthrall the millions of people who can't see that stagnant mess of a franchise for what it really is. Check it out people! Innovations that should have been integrated into the series 4 years ago when the series was already absolutely dying for some honest to god advancements! A new engine that can accomplish what Crysis did six years ago, maybe! I think I'm good on that, and unless e3 is a hell of a show I think I'm good on Xbox One.
 
The console looks like work by an amateur industrial design student. Pretty much all the mock ups that made it look like a black brick were right. But I'll come clean and say I like it. Looks like a TV tuner or giant cable box.

Its pretty funny if Apple releases an iTV or something similar, it will sell gazillions because its apple. I think ms should bet on games, not this tv shit.

I agree that E3 is where we can objectively judge the quality of both consoles (hardware and software wise), but as far as reveals go...

Sony was better.

They said that there will be a system wide video recording and editing system,they just did not spend time on it.
 
It will be fun to have the Xbox one and Ps4 under the TV this holiday while the drama unfolds. If it's like this now, wow this place will be unbearable in a few months.
 
FM5 at launch means no PGR at launch which basically means no PGR :/

Commentary during the 5 seconds of Forza they'd shown was lame as fuck, too. Leave that in dudebro territory, guys.

Depends on the movie, but having access to imdb can be interesting, provided you're not too much into it.
Also, watching a movie while being on the phone with someone watching it is supposed to be romantic. Have you watched When Harry Met Sally ?
 
It was what I expected. Back when I learned it was an hour long presentation I knew they wouldn't have time to fit in many games. I'll reserve my decision on it till after E3, and honestly I liked how snappy the OS is, and TV integration is cool IMO.

Kinect with 1080p camera is fantastic
skype replacing xbla chat, which is great
15 exclusive games, great
half the features not working outside USA again, boo!
wiiu in even more trouble
cod looks okay
EA ignite looks fantastic

The Snap Mode is cool, but other than that nothing else impressed me.
I barely watch tv anyways so that part of Xbox One won't matter to me.
I don't play EA sports games or racing games.
Quantum Break is not Alan Wake 2
I don't care about the Halo universe that much so I'm not going to watch a movie about it.
COD: Ghosts looked like an Xbox 360 game running a little better, but they made it seem like it was amazing in the graphics department.

Overall really disappointed and Xbox 360 is my console of choice this gen.

I caught this... and my mind instantly wandered..

honestly that sony spent SO MUCH time on this feature, and MS didn't, yet DID spend a massive time on social features..

for me, this is really the difference between MS' conference and Sony's

MS: Social = skype your friends and see what's trending on TV
Sony: Social = upload your gameplay videos, broadcast your live play, let your friends control your game

yes, Sony was absolutely targeted on gaming, and MS was going for the broad STB appeal.. Clearly in this thread there are those who think one is a smarter move over the other. As a GAMER, I don't care which is smarter, I just know which one I might care about more.
 
I don't like the design of the Xbox One. It looks like the box is made to facilitate fans. Every side has holes in it. It's like the designers didn't say anything when the tech team told them the box needed 1 square meter of holes.

Seriously: Take a look at what apple does when designing desktops and notebooks. The ventilation holes are hidden. They actually try to hide them because they're not interesting, they actually annoy people. I think I'm going to attach a vacuum bag to my Xbox One and never have to clear my house again. All those holes are going to suck my dusty house clean.

Sony really got them w/ the RAM.

The Kinect stuff needs to be better than advertised or MS better have more exclusives in the pipeline they haven't announced. Otherwise, it will be hard to justify getting one over a PS4.
