I recommend playing without a guide for the first few weeks. A lot of the fun I had with Animal Crossing in the past was the discovery of everything. Don't ruin the magic!

Probably, but definitely don't spoil it by reading it too early. There's a lot of furniture and other stuff you'll want to discover for yourself.

Good to hear. I normally spoil so many games for myself with knowing too much before I start. Not this time. Pretty much been a media blackout for me. Curiosity got the better of me though when I kept seeing AC related threads pop up on GAF.

You underestimate people's ability to Google things.
Its probably much more detailed in the atrocities in itself and will be rage inducing for sure. :\ Oh and will make you love BACON even more.

Agreed. However, these things go out pretty fast and I rather get a new copy than a beat up one for stupid immense prices later.
I also used WW's fish/bug list a ton for their hours/seasons to keep track better.

Once you know how to get them, and you have good hearing, it's quite easy. The speakers of the DS helped, let you know when you'd gone too far the other way.
Such an awful feeling. :lol
That's the thing. I'm DEAF. Like LEGIT. Born deaf and knows sign language. Wears a hearing aid. Can't differentiate fucking BGM from SFX.

The Terrible Secret of New Leaf - Part 2
The moment I stepped into town, things were already strange. I was greeted by a monkey, wearing a little station attendant outfit. He gave me a close-lipped smile.
"Why hello there! You must be the mayor!"
It was surreal, seeing a monkey talk to me. It was just a little odder, because of how barely human-like he was.
"I'm Porter. Feel free to ask me any questions about your transportation needs!"
He snorted out a laugh at the end. I will always hate that fucking laugh.
Before I could even say anything, I was bum-rushed by the crowd. A group of animals, all surrounding me and cheering. It was disorienting. They all gathered around to shake my hand and hug me and cheer for their new mayor. I was like the savior to them or something.
That's when she popped out of the crowd. If only I had known right then. If only...I could have done something.
A short, yellow shih tzu wearing a modest dress panted, as if she had done a lot of running to get here. She straightened out her dress before looking up at me, blushing and smiling.
"Oh! It's so nice to finally meet you, Ms.Mayor. My name is Isabelle! I'll be your assistant, here to help you with pretty much anything you need."
I shook her hand. She was even softer than Rover.
"First things first, we should hold a ceremony to welcome the new mayor, and the naming of the town!"
I looked around at all the strange animals staring at me, with baited breath.
"This isn't the ceremony?"

About ten minutes later, there was an arbitrary ribbon cutting, some confetti thrown about, and the town was born. New Leaf. I didn't think of the name, but I wouldn't change it. It's special to me now.
It's probably the only thing I wouldn't change about this fucking town.

Over here... they had this thing where they honor the preorders at the block mortar stores than ONLINE orders. :\ So often enough they don't have enough to cover the online when the stores just ran out. Its all BS.
