So GAF is going the Fox News route? Fair and balanced. Or something.

Primarily being a PC/Vita gamer, I've got no dog in this fight. But in a debate it's always best when all sides are heard. Echo chambers help no one.

This is how I feel, as well. Ignoring TotalBiscuit seems absurd and ridiculous, considering his online following, the weight his opinions carry, and just how much he has taken it upon himself to have an opinion on this thread and this Twitter movement.

I don't see how discussing the other side "derails the thread", but if bish don't want it, then that's fine by me. There should be a message in the OP or the thread title or something, then.

This thread is not about the pros and cons of used games - it's about a group of people who want Sony to allow us to continue buying and trading games as we always have done.

There's other threads for the discussion you want.

No, go and make another thread about it if you want to, just keep it out of this thread. At least that was the advice Bish gave us early on.

Me too!

Does it say you have 0 followers and are following 0 people too?
Haha!

I didn't see that bit (although it applies to me), it just mentioned that I shouldn't be using the @reply tags to multiple people without them talking to me first as I could piss them off. But meh, I only signed up for this I will probably stay on there now I've finally taken the plunge but if they perma ban me I won't be too fussed.

I forgot all about that. That was all really weird because I don't think that they locked the 360 version. But it seems like the fan response was enough to make them change their mind on using that.

that's exactly why I believe that if Sony makes it up to the publisher to implement DRM, there will still be many of them that decide it could negatively affect sales and just not go through with it.

As i said before i have no problem if Sony leaves it up to publishers .
Some people will call it a cop out but i just won't buy games from those publishers .

It's not like I want to cheat developers at all. I just want to play their games by spending the least amount of money as I can and redbox and gamefly seem to facilate that behavior. I'll buy games new when they drop in price like any sensible consumer.

Pretty sure bish said to drop it so that the thread could be about the movement as opposed to entertaining that guys asshole-remarks. We have something good here, lets keep the petty arguements out: both sides.

Reading that I'm actually in complete agreement with Jaffe. I have no issue with devs getting a cut of the used sale pie. Just make it transparent to the customers to keep them happy.

I would like to know what David Jaffe thinks of lending or barrowing games. I do that all the time. Should I be stuck with a $50-60 bill because I chose to barrow God of War 3 from my friend/family?
Sorry but I disagree. Games are no special case IMO, I don't think they should get a cut same as I don't think any other product should be taking a cut of used sales and thus be paid twice.

Few more;

Also TechRadar is spelt wrong in your post.

I think a great partial solution would be to have the digital version of games available at a very discounted price on consoles.

They already do that on Vita games which is up to the publishers. Most of them don't bother.

Sony doesn't want to put their foot down. Sorry but any kind of "compromise" - as in leaving it to the publishers to decide what they want to do is total garbage.

Holy shit, this wildfire can't be CONTAINED.

but that is how it is now...

You can't exactly tell people what they can't do with their games...that would give them a legit reason for not making games for your shit.

The compromise you speak of is what we have now.
I highly doubt they will get Pubs to give back any more.

The online pass system is sadly the lesser of the evils at this point. In fact I expect it to become just a pass system.

Us version of gamespot mention it here:

Didn't realise it had quite so much press coverage. As i said earlier, i think this is a bigger thing than the twitter thing alone. Okay, throwing the hashtag around is great as it keeps attention on it, but the media reports do a lot more to show Sony we are dissatisfied than a few tweets do. It's great :)

Just finished work.
Update me dear gaf :)
What can i do now to help even more ? Tweet again to the same people the same tweet as yesterday ?

Damn, that's impressive.

When GAF strikes, the gaming community moves. Great initiative.

Sony has a fantastic opportunity to gain an advantage over Microsoft, but I'm sure that they're getting the same pressure from the major publishers that made MS cave in.

Stay strong Sony, you've made good decisions for us consumers thus far.

every hour that passes i feel more pessimistic :(

every hour that passes i feel more pessimistic

Why is that? We already know they are aware. Mission accomplished. It's all we can hope for is that they get the message and take our opinions into consideration.

You won't hear anything before E3.... so don't expect to.

Just saw the other thread, seems like this is going to be a thing in the PS4.

I'm not surprised seen as the PS3 is the only machine on the market that currently offers Always-Online DRM. Keep fighting the good fight though, just be realistic.

Got a reply from the BBC Tech Correspondent

Man - Total Biscuit's video is so full of shit it hurts.

His argument is that Films/Music etc have multiple, recurring, revenue streams - concerts, radio plays, in flight films etc

Completely neglecting to mention DLC, Essentials, Platinum, GOTY editions etc

Adding remakes, HD ports, handheld ports, soundtrack sales, merchandising, movie tie-ins, anime/cartoons/comics, books, micro-transactions, etc.
