I mean I missed the thread he talked about.
That thread is only for Gaf Gold subscribers.

I think Bosman et al. are just trying to avoid the minefield of gamer rage that seems to be popping up all over the Internet lately. I've definitely noticed before that he's always very careful to not offend anybody, to keep his show as positive as possible, and when he does say something that could be construed as a negative he says it lightly and in a humorous way. It's like a hidden rule. We're never going to see Bosman openly display a strong negative opinion on anything that isn't universally despised by both gamers and the industry. I don't think there's anything wrong with that and it hasn't affected the quality of the show, but it definitely was more obvious in this episode than it ever has been before, which is to be expected when broaching an issue as prickly as next gen DRM.as I said in my other post, there is something wrong about this episode (and for the sake of this show I hope it's not GT doing)
1) Why did he feel like talking about DRM without saying DRM?
I dunno, he sound very fake in this episode.
I mean a long part focus on sales and how much Nintendo is almighty and rich and it's ok if they made more failure console? and best lineup just for one game? this is so not Kyle Boseman and not his style at all and not what this show is about (normal guy talk normally about games he love not about how much money that company own and games we didn't see yet), I guess GT just told him to do that so they don't lose the nintendo fans clicks after his lil Gamepad skit last time.
He's a very frank person. If this was done to prove a point, at the end of the "Gamecube with No Buttons" rant, he'd explain what he meant and the takeaway from the abstraction. He didn't do that.
I took the button-less GCN controller to be more a jab at Kinect and (maybe) EyeToy, but I guess DRM works too. (And probably the hotter topic.)
Uh...it was a joke. Like you know, "oh we're gonna talk about that great big controversy guys! You know, the thing everyone is talking about! Which of course is...[this part is the joke]the buttonless gamecube controller![/end joke]
I don't think there's any deep meaning or attempt to equate it to a controller. It's just a little silliness for silliness sake. Lightening the mood a little.
Yeah, you really get it after the second watching.
Though i'm really concerned that they actually censored him!
Gaf detective on the double!!
In which videos?why would they censor him though, GT has discussed it at length and Marcus took them to task for it...
Maybe we really do. Time to start a new hashtag for the eunuch controller. We need to get answers.I think we really do need a thread![]()
Guessing, maybe the cat is sort of out of the bag regarding sony because of keighley's comments in a GT video. That's sort of what triggered the whole tweet campaign. Maybe they dont wanna comment further, maybe they're afraid to be perceived as having instigated the whole thing?why would they censor him though, GT has discussed it at length and Marcus took them to task for it...
Seriously, that Gamecube controller makes no sense. Not only are the buttons gone, so is the c-stick but the main stick is still there. There are no gaping holes where the buttons should be, so it's not like it's some broken controller they had sitting around. I'm genuinely interested in what is going with that controller.
And yes, I got what he was doing with his analogy. The controller is still bizarre.
What's great about Kyle is that he's able to get his points across without being coarse and that's something that's all too rare in videogame commentary.

Damn. Zee plot sickenz, like they say in France. It is there.
Just to clarify, the no-button GC controller really is in the original xbone reveal video? It's not photoshopped in there or something?
Remember last year, where Sony and Microsoft essentially handed E3 to Nintendo on a plate? All Ninty had to do was not fuck up, and yet...
What I'm trying to say is, the "winner" of E3 is not guaranteed, anyone can win and anyone can fuck up.

I wasn't able to find this "fun" you're talking about in any of the following: SMG1, 2, super mario land 3d, twilight princess, paper mario wii, new super mario wii u. I mean, I probably experienced some level of fun-itude at some points, but not enough to keep me playing. To each their own. What boggles my mind is that some people can't conceive others might have different tastes. *shrug*As a side note: it boggles my mind to think that some people like videogames and, at the same time, dislike Nintendo. I was never a huge Nintendo fan, and the only time I played exclusively on their hardware was back in the 8-bit era, but their games have always been fun. How can anyone actively dislike having fun?

Also, I understand that different people like different stuff, but not having fun playing Super Mario Galaxy (as an example) is something that my mind simply cannot comprehend.
I'm sorry I'm so close-minded.![]()
No I don't actively dislike nintendo. I quit SMG1 about 1/2-way through I think. I tried the 2nd and gave up a cple of hours in. It's kind of interesting that many people (not just you, there was an entire thread on the topic recently) can't come to terms with the fact that some might like games in general, but not particularly enjoy nintendo games. I was commenting on that aspect, not the "actively disliking nintendo" bit. Although, my resentment is (appropriately enough) slowly growing over time whenever I have to wade through the wii u's slow as hell menus.Do you actively dislike Nintendo because you didn't have fun with those games?

I'm there too. There are a few games out there that I cannot understand people not enjoying SMG is certainly one of them.
I'm not even a big fan of Nintendo to be honest, I got the Wii a couple years after it came out, tried out SMG expecting it to be overrated because of all the internet hype, but it totally deserved it.
I find it unfortunate someone could not get into it. I also can't get into most first party titles from Sony/MS though.
