God damn AniHawk, that's one hell of a jam-packed hour, yet so full of perfection. O_O

Namco Bandai is under the Nintendo umbrella? Wut? Their support for 3DS is unparalleled but like most third parties they have ignored the WiiU completely. A lot of their big games this year don't even come out on the system.
There could be some game we havent seen yet. Same was said prior the sega direct about Sega and Wii U.

what big games this year, LOL. their last big game was Tekken and that got a Wii U version. most of their studio is probably working on Smash which is what i was talking about. published work that probably gets paid a flat fee and removes a lot of their talent from the risky console transition

Here's my bingo card.

e3_2013_n_bingo_t.jpg

But with Sega it makes sense since their sonic games sell best on Nintendo platforms. Looking at NB's financials more than 50% of their income comes from PS3 and PSP around a third from PS3.
Well they are helping with smash. They have some kind of partnership/collaboration going on. None of the partnerships makes sense. Sonic may have sold the most on Wii U but it still means nothing in regards to a partnership. The sega one dont make sense, the platinum one dont make sense, the bayonetta exclusive dont make sense, the SMTXFE dont nake sense..none of the really make 100% sense its just Nintendo being Nintendo and they do alot of nonsense.

How about Bayonetta? Look, if we are getting any surprises, the point of them will be that they will be, well, surprising. Nothing is out of the realm of possibilities. Nintendo has delivered many surprises throughout the years, and many under Iwatas leadership.
My main doubt about getting shocking announcements is less because of the possibility of then existing, and more in light of the amount of games we already know to be shown. There is only so many games you can promote and cover in one single year.

Mario 3D is the game I am most hyped about. If that game delivers the goods, I will no doubt buy it along with Pikmin 3 and TW101.
Mario Kart is a maybe for me. I guess this one has to have a good online with really good tracks and interesting game modes.

Wind Waker might be interesting, but I already played it on gamecube. And I thought it was a great game, that also looked great. Don´t know what will make me buy this game again, except for replayability I guess.
I don´t think we´ll get gameplay trailer for Smash Bros. Some screenshots and maybe a teaser at most. Not very into Smash Bros. anyway. Not my type of game.

I think we will have surprises. Nintendo always has surprises at E3. The question is will it be good(like a new Metroid, new core IP) or "bad"(like a new Wii Sports, ). Though I would probably buy a new Wii Sports, had tons of fun with the last one.

Metal Gear Rising port with wiimote+ support
and Bayonetta 1 port, part of their partnership with platinum, both are ports I'd buy in an instant

Guys never forget the 13th september:

13th september 2011: Mario tennis, Fire Emblem awakening, MH3-3g and mH4 annonced only on 3ds.

13th september 2012: Bayonetta 2 annonced only on WiiU.

I suspect they keep some games for this event.

Guys, a thought just crossed my mind: we are one week from seeing hd mario for the first time. IMAGINE THE BOSSES! HUGE, BEAUTIFUL 3D MARIO BOSS FIGHTS IN HD!!

Turning my expectations down since even Sonic Team can't make a WiiU game that's even closely on par with their last HD Sonic game graphically.
Gonna be disappointing regardless if Mario looks like an HD port or gets some unnecessary multiplayer focus because of the pad :/

Atleast you will get through this week easier than most of us lol

What are the chances of some megatons being dropped a week or so after the nintendo direct? Like the 3DS XL last year

I'm guessing we'll still get another Direct later this month like last year. The announcements then will be directly dependent on what we see at E3, so we'll have to wait and see what gets announced in 9(!) days.

EDIT: NVM. Just found DTEND. :P So it seems that Nintendo specified 1 hour in the file.

I don't know why people are acting like this should be or even could be more than an hour. Directs are always tight packages. They just want to show all the stuff they have got. Not necessarily take extra long time to present everything. That is what the all others videos during E3 are for. I'd be surprised if it was even an hour long. 45min or so seems more probable.

Someone is going to be disappointed.

They just want to show all the stuff they have got. Not necessarily take extra long time to present everything.

Though sometimes they have taken an extra long time to present anything. Take for example Game & Wario minigames. It seems kind of random what they focus on sometimes.

For what it's worth it seems like EatChildren likes to be very pessimistic about Directs even for ones that delivered by all possible standards :P I understand pessimism but there comes time when you have to realize that times have changed and adobt a more positive attitude.

Though sometimes they have taken an extra long time to present anything. Take for example Game & Wario minigames. It seems kind of random what they focus on sometimes.

They give more time for stuff that is coming out soon.

I guess the better question is, do you guys think Wii U could pull that off?

Sure, why wouldn't it? I hope you realize last gen ports aren't the ceiling, they're the starting point!

So I did some shameless stealing:

Haha nice, you even used the same filter I used :P

Funny thing, I didn't even realize that the blue is almost exactly the color of the Wii U-blue. I simply just wanted it to fit with the water in the Wave Race graphic LOL. Nice coinkidink.

Yet I've heard Pokemon is getting a 90 MINUTE Direct

NO it is NOT!

Who is spreading this misinformation? There is an ACTUAL EVENT for press at E3 that is 90min long and includes Q&A time.

PSN security?

No, this is what that would look like:
psnndk8o.png

can anyone confirm/expand this quick list for a possible third party reel:

- cod ghost
- arkham origins
- watch dogs
- AC 4
- rayman legends
- splinter cell
- deus ex HR
- straight rights new IP

what else?

Dude, Straight Right's new IP was Funky Barn. That ship sailed a LONG ass time ago.

You guys are too realistic. Set your hype-o-meter on 11 and get hyped, dammit!

You clearly haven't seen my bingo card :D

Still can't believe that the shitty images I made got into such an epic gif. I feel proud :')

And mine didn't make it :(

Do you guys really think the Direct will have titles that aren't represented in those silhouettes? I have a feeling that's all Nintendo will show.

lol

i bet nintendo's not even gonna have a direct, and they're gonna cancel all their games, and all the nintendo products in the world are going to turn into spiders

Finally someone with realistic expectations.

:P

So Retro is making Wii Sports U?

;)

I know you're joking but I wanna address this in general:

Why do a lot of you even think something like Wii Sports U has to eventually exist? Because it has Wii in the title and was the reason the Wii blew up like it did? The actual game makes absolutely no sense on Wii U. There will be no Wii Sports U. The concept of sports was based on the idea of the Wii Remote, the interactivity it provided and the new possibilities of control. The Wii U cannot do that, since the Wii Remote is merely an additional controller. That golf thing they showed in 2011? That was a neat little concept demo to show "what you can do" with two screens. That has zero use in an actual game since it adds nothing to the experience. You already played Wii Remote Golf twice now. Reggie said it himself last year "Nintendo Land is the Wii Sports for the Wii U" (I believe it was during the "Not the same game, not the same content!" incident). The Wii U's strengths get shown off with Nintendo Land, there simply is no logical application for a sports game. What sport can you make as fun, simple and engaging as would be necessary for a Wii Sports-type experience with the GamePad? Barely any. And for those that do work, there's Mario & Sonic @ the Olympics.

I found it weird that there was never any clear follow-up to this.

Didnt Nintendo publish the last one? They werent in the credits for nothing. If they published it they may in fact co own it.

Nintendo published 4 and the remake of 2.

No way LTTP 2 or Yoshi's Island don't show up, plus I'm sure one or two other unannounced games.

In a Wii U Direct? No they won't :)

With twenty minutes of Wii Fit U.

I expect to actually see a lot of Wii Fit U if only for the fact that this game will introduce User Created Communities for Miiverse which they will detail with actual footage this time (Iwata already talked about the feature in January). That's actually pretty significant and relevant to future games so I have no problem with that part.

Here's my bingo card.

e3_2013_n_bingo_t.jpg

Sales charts? Really? You should know better, Cheese :)

Is it too late to still hope for a Wii U price cut?

Too early. You don't need a price cut when you have a ridiculous line-up of games.

What are the chances of some megatons being dropped a week or so after the nintendo direct? Like the 3DS XL last year

Maybe.

I'm guessing we'll still get another Direct later this month like last year. The announcements then will be directly dependent on what we see at E3, so we'll have to wait and see what gets announced in 9(!) days.

Yea, late June-Direct which likely focuses on Pikmin, Game & Wario, Splinter Cell, The Wonderful 101 and M&L Dream Team, Animal Crossing DLC, Project X Zone and eShop games is a safe bet. I also think that's when we hear about firmware update details.

Turning my expectations down since even Sonic Team can't make a WiiU game that's even closely on par with their last HD Sonic game graphically.
Gonna be disappointing regardless if Mario looks like an HD port or gets some unnecessary multiplayer focus because of the pad :/

You've really turned into Debbie Downer lately, lol. Here's hoping that the E3 Nintendo Direct episode manages to surprise you.
