By the way, a little something for the non-book readers. The Red Wedding was part of Daenerys dream in the Season 2 finale. Check it out.

I need to re-watch that then.

This. I really liked the scene a few eps back when she arrested Tyrion but this last scene was just head and shoulders!

This is one of the only shows I have seen that challenges the invincibility of key characters. And the way they play with the idea of survival, like having Robb rise up again and Catelyn crawling under the tables, it kind of lingers, the "well just maybe something will happen and they will be fine" feeling. Fantastic.

That's what I like about these stories. They take cliches and turn them on their heads in brutal fashion.

It's wickedly subversive of audience wish-fulfillment and that's not going to be to everyone's tastes. Anyone looking for optimistic fantasy probably needs to get far away from this show.

Perfect time for some people to read the books me thinks.

Yeah I intend to. I've put them off long enough. I'm tempted to jump straight into ASOS but I know that would probably be a big mistake.

HA

Also, we were shown earlier Bolton's men despised Jaime, assuming some of the men at the wedding were Bolton's, how did he convince them to fight for the Lannisters?
Because he is their lord and they do what he says? Those guys didn't hate Lannisters, they were just cruel assholes taking advantage of a prisoner

I've been thinking.

Jon Snow will get by, he was always a Bastard.
Bran has a new possy now, and Rickon will be with them.
Arya will become an assassin seeking revenge for the rest of her life.

Poor Sansa. At least Tyrion is not a jackass.

Dude, you're a fucking goober. What's the problem with Danerys? You've got to be trolling us. You act like all she does is send men to die for her. Did you not see her starve and suffer in the desert last season? How about the way she was sold like a whore by her brother in the first season and constantly threatened? Give the lady a break, man! Comparing her to Joffrey makes you sound like a lunatic.

I was on her side when she was sold/given away, as that's horrible. I wanted her to get revenge on her brother/family and all of that.

Then within basically 2 episodes she loves her rapist. Why. This is the moment I began to dislike her.

Then she bends over backwards to learn the rituals and language of the rapist community she's been forced in. Then acts like she's actually part of it after a whopping month or however long she was with them, this includes of course ordering around slaves who are only her slaves because she was the wife/mistress of the leader. What right does she have to order these people around? To have them bathe her and cut her apples for her. What is this shit.

Then the unbelievably rage worthy entitlement complex comes in. "I deserve this huge castle and throne and this and that because I was born with a certain name." An entire season dedicated to WHERES MUH DRAGONZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ WHY U NO HELP ME GET MUH THRONE BACK.

Then she appears naked with her dragons and all is well. The stockholm syndrome having, commander of slaves, entitlement driven monster is given a godly weapon to exact a plan she has no right to exact.

It makes zero sense to me. I don't understand how anyone can like her or her quest. What makes it worse is every time something "epic" happens with her the camera and music are shown in a way that is supposed to evoke this sort of 'HELL YEA' response from the audience, and I'm completely bewildered. I don't feel that at all, I roll my eyes and grind my teeth.

Wait what? Where was it part of Dany's dream or whatever? Her scenes just showed Kings Landing or the Iron Throne broken down with snow falling or seeing Khal Drogo in the tent with their son.

When did they show this wedding?

Yeah, don't. Start from the beginning, otherwise you'll be wondering who a lot of people are. There are a lot more characters and just information in general in the books.

Yeah...I really don't see how the Stark family can come back from this.

I think the problem facing the show now is I really have no idea who I should be rooting for or sympathizing with.

Everyone left is either not in any position to be making bold moves...or are just fucking AWFUL people.

Yes i have a hard time feeling like i did for Ned in Season 1, As soon as he died i was like welp anyone is game. I am now more interested in whats going on and who is gaming the ladder so to speak. Killing off someone big stars just let the spot lite be on someone else.
I will say I am a little sick after tonight episode.

Her sense of entitlement is funny considering it's the same reasoning Viserys used, she's just nicer about it. That's why you need to join #TeamStannis.

Welp, that was a wedding.

My friend was more shocked by that episode but I guess when I have 8 seasons of 24 under my belt that was like "okay, that was a thing". Shocking but no tears from me, sadly.

edit: unless it was posted already

Once Robb learned of Ned's beheading, why didn't he just send a letter to Stannis saying:

Hey, want to join our armies or something? You can take the throne, I just want Joffrey's head. Sound good?

kthnxbye,

Robb.

???

What am I forgetting?

Good episode. Surprisingly, I'm not really shocked at this ending. My friend texted me "something crazy happens tonight", then after that conversation between Arya and The Hound and Bran mentioning to Rickon that he would be the hier to the North, I kinda figured it was going to be someone on Rob's end.

LOL Rob failed... If everyone in Westeros knew of this wedding, why would you let your guard down like that. You broke the guy's promise before and you know Lanisters will do what they can to get in your allies pockets. lulz.

R.I.P Talisa. We hardly saw yee.

Rob may have been good, but he was not honorable. Stannis would not have broken his vows, no matter the cost to himself. Ned would not have either. Stannis is more like Ned than Rob

Stannis didn't have an army at all, just very few men.

Renly had a big army but no rightful claim to the throne.

I'm still #TeamSansa/Arya/Dany in my heart, but honestly I'm not as attached to characters anymore. I'm just watching how things develop now from here on out and crossing my fingers for an eventual ending I can enjoy.

Guess people really liked Rob, I never really did. I had a feeling Rob was going to die and soon. But the way that went down? Damn, totally didn't see it coming. Red Wedding indeed.

Don't really understand why everyone is so broken up about Robb and Talisa's death.

I thought they were really boring characters. Robb wasn't even honorable like his father.

Why are book readers in here talking about the book? Like I literally CAN'T @ this. Did the rules just not apply for tonight?

I consider Daenery's to be the female Joffrey ethically. But she's infinitely more boring and no reason for existing in this show at all. I don't care about the dragons, I don't care about what she says she deserves (for nothing, just sits on a throne eating pineapple while white knight simps jump off bridges for her).

Same as that generic guy who whines all day about not being king with the red coat spaghetti monster lady. I don't care about the witchcraft shit and the black smoke.

That's mainly why I'm upset at this, because now the show is going to focus on that nonsense more and more. Unless they put in new characters who are interesting/sympathetic, and aren't ghosts or flying wizards then maybe things will be alright. I love Arya, the Lannisters, and littefinger. If they show enough of them next season things will be tolerable.

Where is Tyrion/Sansa going though? They are not going to stay in kings landing are they? I have a bad feeling they are going north and are going to get steamrolled by some white walkers.
