Yes all Sony games with online will have a online pass.Anyone know if this game requires online pass? I'm guessing yes since it's a Sony game, but couldn't find anything definitive online.

After doing my 2012 taxes I realized that I spend way too much money on video games at launch.
My New Year's Resolution for 2013 is to not pay $60 for a video game and that has been very easy and nice due to Steam and GreenManGaming.
TLoU is the first console game I've been interested in, though, so I'm trying to figure out how I should work around that one since I would like to own the physical media.
Probably Redbox it the day it comes out if I can find it and then get a physical copy at the end of the year for $20 or whatever.
I spent over ten of thousand dollars on new games last year, which is what you get for getting every game that comes out the day it comes out for full retail price.
Eventually I figured "Why the fuck am I spending $60 on a bunch of things I will only play for 5 hours or so?".
If I don't want to pay $60 for a console game, what is my best option for playing this on day 1? B&M rental?
Trade some games in to get it cheaper.
I'm a collector. I don't sell or trade my games.Buy it, beat it, resell it for almost full value?
I am now more responsible with my finances.

Although I suppose the second posters suggestion would make sense, buy it for $60, beat it, sell it for $50 or whatever, then buy it again later for my collection when it's practically free.
Ya, 2012 was not a good year for my mental health. Went a bit manic depressive and just started buying games the day they came out that I didn't even plan to play.Trade some games in to get it cheaper.
Also holy shit tens of thousands?
I buy like 12 games a year. Not counting random iOS purchases.

I still have Halo 4 in the plastic wrap. $60 down the drain, etc.

This year I'm trying to be far more careful about that, and so far so good for sure. I've spent less than $1000 so far this year, but I've still played plenty of great games at launch. And without resorting to piracy, of course.
I don't understand why there are meldowns over reviews. Why can't some just accept that not everyone will agree with their own thoughts and opinions? In the end, the only review and score that matters is your own.
I hear you man. I easily spent well over 1k for Infinite =/
No regrets however. And I dont blame you for not wanting to trade anything in. Redbox that shit.

Holy shit, Andrew. How much was that skyhook?
Keep away from all of The Last of Us goodies.
Actually, due to the wonders of PC DD sales, Steam, GreenManGaming, following Wario64 on Twitter, and NeoGAF, I have been able to play pretty much every game I want when I want to play it, and for a price that I consider fair and acceptable.Maybe just budget so that you buy less games in the future to account for it?
That's pretty much what I do. As I said I only get 12 or so a year, sometimes I'll splurge for the collectors edition when I'm super hyped for those games. (The Last Of Us)
Until the new consoles come out! Already saving up :lol
hnnnnnnnng OMG!!!! I can't wait any longer!

It just requires some work. Paying $60 for games is laziness. I was too lazy to look for better deals in 2012, and now in 2013 I'm working to be a more fiscally responsible gamer.
For a GTX 880 next year, ya!
I've decided that both next-gen consoles are waiting until 1 price drop and a good number of exclusive games that I feel like I can't miss out on any longer.

It's UK OPM, they are like EG & Edge, they don't fuck around regardless if it's exclusive or not, actually I think the highest scoring games from them are multiplatform"Official Playstation Magazine" giving the last huge PS3 exclusive release a 10/10? My goodness, I am shocked beyond all comprehension.

I wish someone would have smacked some sense into me years ago.Shit, I really need to start following the mentality of purchasing that you guys have.
Well I am getting the Survial edition cause the post pandemic edition was sold out. What other goodies are there?
Apparently the Survival Edition here comes with the actual full sized art book published by Dark Horse. That alone warrants the extra 20 bucks. It's being sold alone on Amazon for 25.
Ive really gotten into collecting art books for games this gen.
Seriously? That's pretty good.
I think that's it. There's a couple of special editions here in the UK, but we don't get a statue
However, we do get a cool canvas wrap!

I have horror stories of some of the games I've purchased for $60 this generation. Off the top of my head:
Medal of Honor: Warfighter
Damnation
X-Blades
Onechanbara
Blacksite: Area 51
Shadowrun
Lair
Time Crisis 4 w/ Lightgun ($100? IIRC)
The Force Unleashed
Spectral Force 3
Culdcept Saga
The Last Remnant
Infinite Undiscovery
Star Ocean 4
and many others. And those are just the bad games that I spent full price on, not even to mention the average or good games that I just wasn't interested in playing.
Game looks good enough, I just cannot get behind another zombie game. I thought it was going to be a post-apocalyptic survival game, not another zombie game.

WTF are you talking about?
If anything it's The Walking Dead meets The Road.
"@TheKevinDent: David Cage should just do PR for Naughty Dog, they do what he aspires to be, but he sells it better. The lowest score I am hearing is 93/100"
"@TheKevinDent: It is incredibly rare for me to hear reviewers gush in unison about a game, but when I do I get that giddy feeling you get as a child!"

Someone who thinks he is a larger part of the inside games industry crowd than he really is and tries to prove it by interjecting into every topic while leading on that he knows more than he really does.1. Who is kevin dent?
what always amazed me about that callout was how accurate the lower scores for Uncharted 3 ended up being lol
