Yeah I read that leaked stuff too and it didn't go into a whole lot of fine detail which is good, if anything it made me want to play the game more.
I think your hypothesis on the intro is correct, if I recall you were discussing it with someone else here a little bit
The leakage is what really skyrocketed my hype. Before that it was close to nil.
I mentioned my hypo once to who knows who, but its lost in the sauce now thank christ.

I've completed Uncharted 2 eight times. I've only finished Uncharted 3 once.
That was before the aiming was patched, however. I'm interested to see how the game plays now.

I'm gonna chime in on the Romancing the Stone love. Impeccably well-crafted popcorn entertainment. Starts off as a funny romance and evolves into a breezy adventure film, and it's a lot of fun all the way. Any Indy/UC fans owe it to themselves to give it a whirl.

Uncharted 3 had too much START. STOP. START. STOP. Linear gameplay. It felt really jarring, I honestly had no incentive to play it over again because of those annoying bits.
Does the Last of Us feature any of that? Uncharted 2 felt paced WAY better with less "scripted, player has no control, abruptly linear" moments.

Im gonna get on that when the price drops. I just finished Bound in Blood and all the trophs in the story mode of Gunslinger so Im at a standstill.
I just realised that I'm halfway through my True West playthrough on Gunslinger.
That will pass a few hours, I guess.

Definitely enjoying it. Only reason I haven't powered through it in the first two days was due to doing a let's play on it. So it's helping me really take my time on it. It was my most hyped game of last year until it was moved and then my most hyped of this year
It's definitely my favourite this year so far anyway and I'm still amazed by just how much quality they got into the game with so little.
Also have you seen the Mobius trailer for it that came out the other day? It's a post release trailer made by one single artist on the team and it's possibly one of the best trailers made for a game.Check it out below

Yep, watched it a few days ago. It really is a brilliant trailer, and it captures the mood of the game perfectly.
I also just realised that I'm about 1/3 the way through my Ranger Hardcore playthrough. Looks like I've found my game to play this weekend!! Well, that and Gunslinger.
Don't know if this has been posted...but another 10/10 has been added to metacritic (bumping up the reviews to 61 total now). This makes it the 30th perfect score so far for The Last of Us

I just realized something about the games title.
The Last of Us...there's still humans in the world in this setting...meaning "Us" could possibly be referring to Ellie and Joel....meaning it's the Last of there relationship..meaning..somehow they get separated..whether through death or something else...found it interesting

Speaking of Bioshock Infinite, that is another reason why Im not positive Im gonna like this. Thought what I played of Inifinite was pretty shite, and that definately did seem like an unnecessarily interactive storyheavy game.

Won't go as far as to call it shit but sure as hell was not a 10/10 with its repetitive gameplay and well less then perfect character continuity
Well if you look on metacritic for Infinite, you can see some reviews mention that, and there some less glowing review for Infinite as well (at a 7 or below).
With TLOU though...I mean all the 10's and all the buzz that the journalists are saying is one thing...but look on metacritic..the cons? It's as if the reviewers have to find nit-picky flaws purposely.
The last time I witnessed this much hype, buzz, positivist was for UC2 from the gaming reviewers..and well we know how that turned out

Took a while to get used to the graphics though. Higher resolution/AA would do WONDERS for this game because pretty much everything else freaking amazing looking.
The fights are INTENSE, the animation is the best I have ever seen. Kinda wish the gunshots was more powerful though.
Only three hours in so far, will play the hell out of this game later today.

Maybe I've been playing to many games on PC but these graphics arnt as good as people make em out to be

...........If so than I question if you like video games or not.
I guess what I'm trying to say overall with these games/score is to say, yeah some games get highly rated and end up being a disappointment (GTA IV, ME3, and UC3 come to mind)....but at the end of the day there are still a SHITLOAD of other games that end up getting rated highly by critics and end up truly becoming a great experience.
So why not drop the skepticism and just bask in the pure fun and joy of being hyped

Well... not as good I think. But it has been a couple of years also... And my tolerance against bad IQ just gets worse and worse.
Not as visually striking as Uncharted 3 maybe, but versus other console games this is easily up there among the very best looking ones. And with good IQ it would be among the best Pc games also imho.
