Haha

Also, I agree with spongebob. :)

last night i had a dream i was at microsoft's booth before e3. they had stuff that everyone kinda knew about like sonic riders explorers and infamous: second son. they also gave us a little packet and whatever game we played, we had to match it to a number on the packet and we got a physical prize based on that. well, the games in the packet had all sorts of unannounced games, one of them being mega man 2005 ii: mega man 1986 ii: here comes the dang

and that is when i truly loved big brother.

Lost Odyssey 2?

Really?

(Big LO1 fan here, but I just can't believe that news, that just sounds crazy, after LO1 sorta tanked sales wise)

It sold like 750,000 units or something going off the top of my head. That's pretty decent for a jrpg. I remember the number being in the "good enough for a sequel" range.

I suppose it may be the one they are doing a live event for...

but I'd figure they would have more than 1.
I bet that controller feels nice. It just looks well made. The feedback in the analog sticks is a pretty good idea.

I'm glad both Sony and Microsoft have made some significant enhancements to the controllers. I was thinking we might not see much added.

THIS! I really hope they make a wired version at least! (Use mine for pc all the time. It's great).

It works as both. Plug in the micro USB charging cable and it works as a wired controller.

Its just using WiFi direct so it should be really easy to implement.

Man, looking at dat post history. Negative little guy, ain't 'e. Doesn't pay much attention to rumors, 't appears. Son, when people like famousmortimer talk, you listen, kk? Dis guy 's what we call "generally reliable" in the gaming community. :) Also, famous is mod-approved as well. There's a lot of other ones saying similar things dude, don't be so cinical. :)

A new non-kinect Lost Odyssey, Phantom Dust, Panzer Dragoon, and PGR, would make me consider the Xbox One, despite their massive screwup. Consider. Now two or three of them would make it a difficult proposition to avoid altogether.

I liked him before he lied right after the Xbox reveal about no online required.

And there that backward compatibility comment. sigh.

Same. It's weird, he looks and talks like a nice guy, but the stuff he says.... *sigh.....he comes off as a bit of a jerk honestly. Like the always online thing. He talked about it like it was the same as with the 360. In a way, yeah it is: certain people were excluded, and still are. However, in a more important way, it is not: online was still optional, it was just limited. Making the switch (I think it was to ethernet, correct?), while people were excluded, I have to agree with, but yeah, he seems to fall into the trap of generalizing one's own position.

wut? did I miss something?????????

Hix feels there's an LO2 in the making, possibly by a different developer than Mistwalker.

It would have to be cause I know for a fact that the great Mr. Sakaguchi has been catching the surf and sitting on his buttocks making iOS games.

Am I the only one who actually likes Don Mattrick?

What's to like about him? Everything I loved about the original Xbox and 360 has been pretty much summarily ****ed in the ass by him. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but for a guy that claims to be first and foremost a gamer, he makes a lot of decisions that screw the gamer.

true but since his inception profits have been great on the EDD. If you were in his position would you do things differently even if it meant less profit/success? If so do you think MS wouldn't fire you for it? lol

Although I'm not sure what their latest antics are going to achieve mind, perhaps they just wanted to be something different rather than mimic the PS4.

I, quite honestly, would do things that benefit the consumer. I would do everything I can to do things that encourage people to come to my platform. I would be humble, accept criticism, be thoughtful, and do my best to be in touch with my fans. Why? That's kinda how I try to live my life anyway. He seems more struck with corporate greed. Me? I'm an INTJ, about as practical and business-like as it gets. Emotions? Pfft. Who needs emotions. But even I know the value in knowing you made someone go "Oh god yes!" or "Wow, that was awesome, thank you MS!" I'm sure Major Nelson practically lives for that.

That's truly great and everything, but MS would fire you lol. I think it's possibly balmer that is the bag guy in all of this, he essentially pulls all the strings.

That said I don't think their policies are 'the devils work' like a lot of people do so I can see most of the Xbox team being on board.

Yeah, I question a lot of balmer's decisions
strongly

Also, yeah, that's why I'd go Indy if I made games. I'll probably go into the film industry first though. People are a lot more mature there, it seems (partially by nature of it being an older and more mature industry), and (if you've read Film Crit Hulk, which every person alive should do) much less likely to deal with bullcrap.

Monday nights game reveal is gonna be epic! So prepare now for 90 minutes of gameing love. How do I now this, I don't. But 1 billion dollars will make it happen. Ohh yes it's happening!

ah okay.

I completely agree with you. Profits are what the game is about. I just think the direction he's taking the business is one that will reap them profits early and then losses later as they alienate and lose the core. Balance at the cost of lower profits now might earn them more money later.

Yeah they definitely need to think carefully about what they're doing. If Wii (and kinect) taught as anything it's that any audience that isn't core gamer is fickle and won't spend nearly as much cash.

Thing is...they could keep the system the same, and start doing steam type sales (The Gaben has shown studies that lowering prices insanely low will actually increase profits) to encourage them to go digital and let physical games die (they wont die completely, but a time will come when they're dead enough to make a digital-only console).

Good companies follow the market. They do some predicting, yes, in fact they have to, but the most profitable ones are usually those who follow the market. Even Steve Jobs followed the market. The difference between him and Balmer is that Jobs saw where the market was going before the market did and went there. He was still following in a sense. Balmer and Mattrick and all of them seem to be trying to tell the market where to go. Or at least, maybe Balmer is doing what Steve Jobs did....just...he's doing it wayyyy to early. The market just isn't ready.

If I had a company, no matter the industry, the motto (at least the unofficial one) would be this:

Never punish a customer for doing what you don't want him to do.
Always reward a customer for doing what you want him to do.

There are lots of companies that do this. Not the best example, as they don't actually make a whole lot of stuff themselves, is Newegg. Even if computer stuff is slightly cheaper somewhere else, I always go to them because I know they have great customer service. It's that same idea.

Microsoft is punishing the consumer by not allowing them to be connected to the internet a whole lot to play. Instead (yeah, it's hard work, but it'll gain you lot's of loyal customers and their word of mouth. And those people who come because of word of mouth: it's important to have a good first impression), instead, Microsoft should reward consumers for being on the internet. Like now, only better and more compelling than Sony. The TV stuff is a start, but the DRM/internet stuff ruins it.
