I've apologised to relevant parties - not too big to recognise when I've been an ass.
And yeah - a little frustrated still (been a long couple of weeks on top of that) - gonna take my time, maybe put it on easy to catch up to where I was.

Timing of the QTE is the key for that guy.
Honestly must have tried it about 150 times before I did it. only got to the QTE about 50 times, and only got past the first button press of the QTE about 5 times.

It's great they apologized...well...Arne did.
It's also great they also fixed it as quickly as they did.
More great still was that GAF figured out how to get around Naughty Dog's issue.
The issue is that it shouldn't have happened at all. I don't care that it's happening often/all the time with other games as well. When a game ships it should be ready to play, problem-free.

It wasn't the patch. It was a server-side issue.
You'll be fine to download the patch and play the game online now.
When was this fixed? I started playing two hours ago and just lost all of my progress, fuck this shit. I don't want to replay all that again.
I paused my game and it was stuck saving so i tought i better go to the XMB before i keep progressing and lose even more time, reloaded the game and my save is right at the beinning of the game, what the fuck?

I'm glad Naughty Dog fixed it as fast as they did. Went to Best Buy during lunch and picked up a copy of the game. Now I'm waiting to get off work, go home, and enjoy TLoU.

Don't act like a child. I still had problems like an hour ago no matter the cause. Let the people at least exchange their information.7
EDIT: What I did is delete all data including save and data files, re-download all and it worked flawlessly.

Yes, but to escape this issue you had to restart the game after they applied the server fix.

Just quit out to the XMB, sign back in, start the game and you should be good.

Exactly an hour ago? They advised us to exit the game and re-launch it 1h20m ago.
It's not 2 hours since they fixed it, so you should have quit the game to solve it.

I encountered the bug two times (once in the prologue and once in chapter one).
Then I started playing offline with no problems and reached the end of chapter two.
Now can I play while logged in PSN using this savefile where the bug occured or do I have to delete the save file and start the game again from the beginning ?

The five year old thing is a bit harsh.
Maybe they are indeed over-reacting.
Or maybe they have been looking forward to this for weeks or maybe even months. They managed to square it away with their wife and despite her rolling her eyes about it she agreed that she wouldn't stack a bunch of things to do around the house ontop of the day off.
The kids are at school.
The guy has eight or ten good hours of uninterrupted play.
And the game that has been anticipated is fairly broken out of the box because of a saved game glitch that has to deal with nothing to do with the actual disc or his console. It's just another current gen, developer initiated issue that potentially inconveniences the player and doesn't seem to have any readily apparent benefits to the player.
So he's frustrated.
CoolBro-X on GAF calls him entitled and tells him to relax, it's not a big deal.
He gets more frustrated.
An apology...even a heartfelt one doesn't get him back the four or five hours he lost.
So for him...maybe the rant IS justified.
I'm not saying that videogames are a great way to spend time. I recognize that it might very well be a "waste" of time. It's my time to waste however. When other people waste it; particularly a developer; particulary a developer that appears to be ontop of things like Naugty Dog...if/when they waste my time. That would certainly piss me off.
I'm just glad I was at work when this went down. Because if I was off work and looking forward to playing this and waiting for Naughty Dog to fix it...man...that would have been frustrating.
The fact that GAF found out a solution to fix it seemingly before Naughty Dog did was nice, but for me that would have been even more frustrating that a gaming forum found a potential fix before the developer of the game did.
