GOG's #NoDRM Summer Sale [UP: Last day]

If you don't own a console, please buy Guilty Gear X2 #Reload, it's the best fighting game on PC!

You can't play this version online (since GoG's doesn't work with the Japanese hack) nor is it "tournament" standard anymore (that's ^C/^C+R) so...

GOG is the best! I already have Torchlight but not a DRM free copy and this is a GREAT game to give away. If you don't have it, get it now!

Some games won't be on sale all the way till July 5.

I know that some people will have questions about this so here are some exceptions for the promo:

Square Enix, Bohemia Interactive, Capcom and Interplay catalogues will all only be on promo for one week.

Games which were released recently are not included in the promo. A handful of other games are also not included for various reasons.

Eador titles are 30% off and Night of the Rabbit is 20% off.

On my first day of unemployment. Ha-ha, very funny GoG.

Holy shit, they ain't fucking around with this sale. Probably gonna buy a couple dozen games or so.

Also probably going to rebuy some of the stuff I have on Steam, cuz DRM-free is always better.

Everybody needs to buy Divine Divinity. It is the best RPG on computers.

If i wasn't broke i would be all over that Alan Wake deal.

Some great deals on there.

I bought a Divinity pack awhile back and love all of them.

Divinity 2 seems to get more hate then it should because once you do a camera fix, it's easily one of the best ARPGs ever. It's massive and does a lot of innovative things for the genre.

That makes it sound too much like they are jumping on a popular bandwagon, which seems unfair. Gog.com was championing truly DRM-free gaming long before many posters on GAF knew or cared about DRM.

Yeah, it's not like GOG has been offering DRM free games for nearly five years.. oh wait!

Ah, good, a sale that happens while I'm unable to buy games.

At least I might be able to grab a game on the last couple days. I might be able to snag a copy of Neverwinter Nights 2 or something.

Most of the games I want are already at $2.99
The won't go any lower than that I'd think, right?

I say wait. Some of them might end up 75% - 85% off in a daily promo.

Other than the four publishers who are only discounting for a week, if by the end of the sale your desired games haven't been a daily deal then you should get them.

But don't let me stop you if you want to play some games now!

With the corpse of Atari waiting to be picked at, I'm wondering if I should take this opportunity to pick up its catalogue (minus the few games I already have on Steam).

not really interested in old games and I already own the witcher 2, but that reminded me that the steam sales are coming soon

my wallet is sweating heavily

I'm gonna throw out another niche recommendation: Balls of Steel. I don't generally like pinball games, but this is unquestionably my favorite one. It nails everything that makes pinball fun, it still looks great due to it being 2D, and the audio is surprisingly good. Perfection.

I'm in no hurry, I just wasn't sure if there would be a price point lower than 2.99 for games already at 50% off

OP is worded strangely. GOG are OG #NoDRM freedom fighters. I 100% support them and their new sale. Hope more people do the same. <3 GOG

Neverwinter Nights 2 was the only D&D game I didn't already own.

DRM-free copy for $4? Why not!

Maybe I'll actually get around to playing Mask of the Betrayer some day. Every time I install the thing I tell myself I'll play through the original campaign first, but always get bored after a few hours. Maybe I'll just skip it this time.

IIRC, you have to buy bundles in one go, you can't put them in the cart as part of a later larger purchase.

i was able to. on the checkout page of the bundle, click "gift this order" and click yes. then click on their homepage and the discounted bundle should be in your cart (with no gifting)

I'd love to see these games in daily deals at 75% off:

Clive Barker's Undying
The Journeyman Project 2
The Journeyman Project 3
Myst series
Realms of the Haunting
Syndicate + Syndicate Wars
The 7th Guest + The 11th Hour
Another World
Sanitarium
Still Life
Swat 3
Syberia 1 + 2
Freespace 2
Omikron: The Nomad Soul
Unreal series
Zeus + Poseidon
Descent 1+2
Descent 3 + expansion
Earthworm Jim 1+2
Edna & Harvey pack (and other Daedalic games)
Miasmata
Startopia
Legacy of Kain series
Simon the Sorcerer series

Already got Alan Wake for the same price on the Steam sale, and I recently found out the Steam versions of the Alan Wake games are actually DRM-free.

Holy shit Silver is on there.

Anyway, how necessary is Neverwinter Nights if I want to play good BioWare games eventually?

For people just using GOG for the first time, take a peek into their forums for the older games you buy. Many have some great mods that are updated and maintained to make the games play better or be compatible on newer rigs.

For instance, I love that the official Baldur's Gate II page has a mod guide listed right there on the home page. These GOG guys are real gamers.

For enhanced gameplay in your GOG.com edition of Baldur's Gate II, please follow this modding guide.

Got System Shock 2 (didn't know this works on OSX now!), Syndicate Wars, Magic Carpet 2 and theme Hospital.
Oh, EA, such a great publisher once.

Torchlight is mine now. It'll be my first time playing it :P I've read a lot of positive opinions.

I'm not sure what else I should buy. I'm thinking of Moto Racer 2 (maaan, I used to love the first one), Pandemonium!, Rayman Forever, Rayman 2 or PoP: The Sands of Time.

Damn, the summer sales are starting again -.-

I want Torchlight, Alan Wake, System Shock 2, FTL and Clive Barker's Undying!
But damn, my backlog is so fucking huge already... :O

Got a question: System Shock 2 and FTL are now 50 % off (4.99 $ each). Are those offers valid until July 5th? Any chance those games will get cheaper in a daily deal?
