Yup there is. There's also a super slick "variable" option that allows both. If you quick tap the trigger it locks to where you have to hit the trigger again (toggle), and if you hard press/hold the trigger it works like default (hold).

I couldn't even get the hotbars to switch to controller mode, despite having the controller on and set up.

I don't know I could see the whole fate thing working for friends. In phase 2 when Red Belly Hive fates were big for grinding I was hanging out around there and I actually ended up meeting people and I even added a few to my friends list. I mean fates are quick but they cycle in any particular area.

Yep, thats the one.

Thanks for the video. Kind of what I expected. Of course the lower level ones will just be simple since you have to factor in that most people at low level might not know what is going on. Where at higher levels you can flesh out the content a bit since the users will have a better grasp of their class/roll. I would imagine a near end game or end game version of these could be even better.

Very excited for this game.

Yeah, I remember seeing it in the configuration.

Ohh, thanks. I'll assume for PS3 ver. it's somewhere in the options so I'll have a look around next time.

thanks, i was asking because some games still don't have steam overlay even after doing that, gotta go from properties and add some lines to the address or something i forgot

Should have gotten two emails last week, one which contained instructions for getting her account ready for the beta. I think all 1.0 folks got in last weekend (I did, as did my roommate).
I didn't any emails or anything like that. My account also says that it is inactive.

Hmmm so as I understand it:

-Next weekend, we'll be able to pick up our 1.0 characters for testing.
-BUT, character data will be deleted at the end of Phase 3.

So we won't be able to keep progress made on our 1.0 characters?
Will our 1.0 characters be deleted as a result?

You will have your 1.0 char. At the end of Phase 3 ALL Characters will be deleted.

At the start of phase 4 you will have your 1.0 character again

No progress is saved until phase 4

Sounds like only a week before early access starts, which will be a week or less before the 8/27 launch date.

If phase 4 progress makes it to retail, how is it any different than early access?

EDIT: Other than the actual testing obviously. What I mean is that it kinda devalues the early access.

It's open to everyone.

Also, Phase 4 will be shut down while Early Access is up. So people that bought the game will be able to keep playing for a few days between Phase 4 and release.

Also, I got my timeline wrong... there will be 2-3 days of downtime between Phase 4 and early access. So I expect Phase 4 to start around August 10th or so?

I have to ask a question before I get ahead of myself here. So I got support from SE finally about my PS3 code being invalid. So they sent me a PC and a PS3 code. The thing is that I already have a PC code and am already in the beta so I'm thinking about giving the PC one away and keeping the PS3 one.

So here's my question. Can I use the PS3 code and giveaway the PC code with no drawbacks? What I mean by thiis is that if I use the PS3 one will the other person still be able to use the PC one, and the same reversed? I'm just really paranoid since I got a working PC one but an invalid PS3 one last time.

Guildhests are unlocked around level 15 and can be found on Battle Wardens located at various camps. To join a Guildhest, you have to have a full party of four players. You will ideally want a typical party setup with a tank and a healer but we were able to manage the lower level Guildhests without a dedicated healer. This may not be the case as the content scales out but the way the instances are designed, I think that party composition is not as important as in dungeons. There was little penalty for dying as you can instantly respawn and run back into the battle.

Anyway, the Guildhest itself is an instanced challenge with a time limit and objectives that vary depending on the Guildhest chosen and usually contains some type of boss mob to challenge. They are small and linear areas with a clearly defined objective.

In one example, you have to defeat a giant turtle that is constantly being healed by enemy NPCs, while Eft adds continually spawn in over time. The goal is to keep the Eft spawns at bay, eliminate all the mages, and then weaken the turtle. Once the turtle is weakened, a fire spirit spawns. You kill the fire spirit and obtain a core which is then used at a specific location to activate a type of gas that is used to trap the monster. From there, the party lures the giant turtle onto the trap and completes the Guildhest.

You get a massive amount of experience points for completing a Guildhest the first time but subsequent attempts result in a much lower amount of experience points. I am not certain if this 'first time bonus' resets daily or if you only get it once. As you complete Guildhests and level up, you unlock more. I saw at least 5 or more for each level range at 10, 15, and 25 respectively for a total of around 15-20 Guildhests. There will probably be encounters to challenge all the way up to level 50 at launch.

That is pure awesomeness my friend, 10x for the info! Quick question(s): do you have to be lvl 15 if you are in the party or can you be a bit lower and is there a specific quest you have to complete for the Guildhests to appear?

On a different note, I still feel the need to bitch about Arcanists apparently not being tested publicly at all until launch. I know YoshiP is all about keeping spoilers on lockdown and letting nice surprises happen at launch, but not only do I think that keeping a banner feature like this under lockdown instead of using it to help build hype is a bad idea, I'm really, really worried about what state Arcanists and their jobs will be in if they get no public testing at all. There's just stuff a community can find that the best veteran QA engineers in the world can never find in a closed environment. With all his MMO experience, I would've thought Yoshida would understand that.

Even worse, though, it makes the testing of Disciples of Magic in general incomplete. Unlike the Disciples of War, the two extant Magic classes can only get abilities from each other, and most of the synergy goes CNJ->THM. There's no Arcanist junk in there to mix things up. I get the feeling Conjurers are way more painful to level right now than is really intended, but without Arcanists in the game, there's no way to tell.

Sorry if this is a rant, but it's been gnawing at me. And thanks to the post size limit on the XIV beta forums, I can't make the argument coherently there, either. :\

I say don't worry too much about Arc, if anything they will be OP. The leaked move list was pretty good in their favor on power levels. They looked just a tiny bit weaker than BLM and that's without knowing the pet's damage

Yeah, but that's just the thing. I certainly don't want them to be broken and unworking at release, but as someone with an (admittedly probably unhealthy) emotional investment in the class and job(s), I don't want them to be broken, either - it's not good for the health of the game if they're stupidly OP. I really wish they'd get tested, either way, just so the community can help suss out any issues.

also where is the leaked list I missed it

It's old, but you can scale it up based on the current game pretty easy.

Got an extra PC code.

Since I'm already in the beta on PC and I have no one with a top end PC I know, I'll just give it away. First one to quote this gets it.

Downloaded the PS3 client and was really looking forward to trying the console version because I might get the PS4 version but I probably won't be able to play this weekend. :/
