Club Nintendo (NA): Register FEA + SMT4 by 8/31, get $30 eShop credit

This is an awesome promotion. $30 for one game I already have and one I already have on pre-order works for me!. I'm so glad it works with both retail and DD copies after the DD-only rumor earlier. Now I have to decide which eShop to put the credit on, though it's probably going to be the 3DS'. Though it could get me $30 off Pikmin 3...

Dang I don't have club Nintendo code for fire emblem in my local copy .MAXSOFT! Any kind soul can provide me with a code ? I can trade them a digital download code from club Nintendo rewards of their choice.

lol fat chance of that happening, people will just sell their codes of they have no need for it :'(

This is really awesome, surprised to see Nintendo doing this. Gotta start that SMT x Fire Emblem hype somewhere I suppose!

Granted I haven't been looking for it, but have they been promoting the new game alongside the promotion at all? Like any mention of it whatsoever? I mean, it is a pretty cool idea and a decent way to get people talking, but even a *COMING SOON* with a logo would do wonders, I'm sure.

And club Nintendo codes usually don't come with third party 3DS games which is why I ask since SMTIV does come with one. Oh well no big deal really.

I got a code with each of Rhythm Thief, Sonic Generations, and Resident Evil: Revelations. Actually, the Club Nintendo site even has a list of all eligible games.

hrm, this is weird. I bought a 3DS, bought a digital copy of FEA and then linked the system to my Club Nintendo account but my history looks like this

My digital FEA is nowhere to be seen :\

I am pretty sure that you were supposed to link your account first.

"Sign into Club Nintendo and complete your registration surveys by August 31st."

Uhh... I didn't do my product registration survey/ post play survey (don't really care about coins) and now those are expired for FE:A... but my Product registration is complete...

Do I really need those surveys for FE:A? Is product registration enough?

Product registration is enough. It does not specify that you also need to complete the post-play surveys.

Well, it's doubtful you'll be able to finish any of them before SMT4 comes out, but if you're gonna play one I say Nocturne (SMT3) on PS2. Strange Journey on DS is good as well and also a 'mainline' SMT game, but the dungeons are first person and kinda annoying later on. SMT4 has third person exploration like Nocturne.

I'm fine with first person dungeons. In fact Grimrock has made me seek out more recent games like that (I'd get Soul Hackers or Etrian Odyssey if I had the time).

While they're wonderful games, playing the first two titles before any others is a good way to put you off the franchise for quite a while. I suggest playing Nocturne first.

Why? What's up with them?

So I don't have a Club Nintendo account, but I'm gonna make one now for this.

Is there a time limit for registering games? Can I still register Wii games?

Phew. I thought I was screwed for my lack of care for Nintendo Club Coins. The wording made it sound like you had to do those product registration surveys.

There's no time limit for registering eligible games. Yeah, you can register wii games but make sure it's eligible for coins since not all wii games are eligible. You can check the site to see if your games are eligible or not.

Or you could just look in the boxes for a code. The ones with codes are eligible.

Here's a tip for CN newbies. If you have a crapload of games don't register them all. Once you hit Platinum for the year then save your extras for the following year (unless there's a reward you really want).

Wait, I'm not understanding the wording of your statement.
Just wanting to make sure:

Backing up, when you bought Fire Emblem, did you enter the Club Nintendo code into your account and complete that first survey? If so, no worries. As long as you complete that first survey you're alright. That was the product registration survey.

I just bought it digitally. And it automatically registers my product. I didn't do any survey (both the product registration survey and post play survey are now expired).

EDIT: Thanks Stoof for the Nintendo e-mail confirmation!

Thanks for the help -Horizon-! Now I can be at ease that I will be getting that $30 credit.

Alright, got an email back about my expired FE survey and it's good news!

Hello,

Thanks for writing.
I am able to confirm that you will qualify for the promotion as long as both games are registered to your Club Nintendo account before 8/31/13. Your expired survey(s) will not effect your eligibility.

Sincerely,
Nintendo of America Inc.
Andrew Rush

I guess you really don't need to do the surveys? o_O

Oh man praise YHVH for that.

Someone I had managed to do every survey except FEA registration survey

Also people should really buy the retail copy of SMT IV

Even if you dislike the game you'll still like a lot of the art I bet

But SMT is a great series and this is an easier one so I think newcomers will like it.

Weeping, this is great news. Suddenly getting 30 credit for two games I already paid for feels great.

I bought Fire Emblem Awakening new but I don't see it in my list of games in my Club Nintendo account. I see the demo, i see the DLC but not the main game itself, O s I guess I forgot to register it. Shitty, cos I was planning on buying SMTIV anyways and this would've been nice.

Great, I remember seeing those tickets in Skyward Sword and Xenoblade, so that's good that I didn't need to register them within like a year of release or something.

Thanks for the tip. Good idea.

In that case I would definitely recommend Strange Journey. Out of all the games it's likely to have the most connection to SMT4, I bet.

Why? What's up with them?

Old and hard, basically.

Okay, so the Fire Emblem 3DS was registered on 2-11-2013. Why is its serial number on the 3DS I registered on 8-10-2011?

can't wait to get the $30 eShop credit. been eyeing quite a few items for awhile now.. (games + the eventual Streetpass DLC)

I hope Nintendo did this for more of their games though :/

So it works in Canada and my retail copy of Fire Emblem applies? You win, Atlus.

SMT4 is a good enough place to start, right?

That pushed me over the edge. I have enough Amazon reward points on my card to get it for free and then I get $30 to buy more VC titles. Win-win.

This makes up for the crazy eShop price. You basically get Dream Team or Pokemon for almost free.

Also this was my first time logging into Club Nintendo in like a year. I missed out on about 100 coins from not doing surveys. OH WELL.

Great. Will pre-order SMTIV from vgplus. I have no interest in the game but due to the crazy videogame prices here in Argentina I can resell the game for a slight profit easily and pocket the $30.
