I'm actually shocked at the disbelief of Weidman's abilities and the talk of Anderson throwing the fight. I'll agree his heart may not be into it anymore but to intentionally throw a fight? There is no way he would do that if he wanted to go back to Brazil (and live). And to the people that think Andy faked the knockout, that's some pretty good acting to bounce the back of your head off the mat. He deserves a Oscar.

Not really, Weidman has outstruck every opponent he's faced even if you disregard the knockouts. Bisping has been outstruck by every high-level opponent he's faced (not many) and made several lifelong cans look surprisingly competent at times.

Maybe no one here is saying it. Unfortunately, there are many outside of gaf saying he purposely took the fall for whatever reason. Personally, I think Silva's antics stinks. Because of it, he has an excuse why he lost the fight and Weidman isn't getting due credit. To be fair, I don't think Silva is making that excuse up but his fans or the media are.

I enjoy Silva's antics because up until now they've worked and its part of why people think he's on some matrix shit, but I completely agree with the bolded part of your statement - its such a shame that a lot of people feel Weidman didn't win, Silva lost.
Even though I just got done saying I love his antics, I do think it would be very interesting to see what he could do to someone if he was 100% serious and just went right for the kill.

And other than Irvin and Leben that was his fastest knockout. Interesting. Man what a difference in records there is between Silva and GSP. Silva has finished almost every single one of his fights in the UFC while GSP has finished 2 of 9 in his most recent stint as champion.

You realize that Silva doesn't have "haters" in the MMA-GAF community right? He finishes fights so even if he isn't a favorite he's still preferred to half of these fighters who point fight and blanket their opponent to boring wins. That's kind of the point behind the "Everyone is a Can" tagline.

Its basically the suburbia of NY. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Its just not as NY as other places (not counting upstate).

I grew up 30 minutes outside of NYC on Long Island. Like 10 minutes from Weidman. Its deff suburbia but at least you got some nice beaches, houses and you are right outside the city. Too bad the nightlife has gone to shit there in the past 6 years. Use to be really fun going out.

I'm glad Silva lost and hope he loses some more to dispel any doubt among the die-hard fans that Weidman kicked his ass.
The hands-down dodging and weaving is one thing and not something I mind. It's legitimate technique -- he finally got caught and that's unfortunate. What I always disliked are the bullshit antics that had nothing to do with fighting -- the total disrespect he seems to have for just about everyone and the sport itself, treating it like it's a dumb joke, when so many other guys with similar success have been far humbler. No class, tact, humility, etc. Sincerity is easy to read on someone's face, and I always cringed watching Silva's super-fake nice guy routine, with the post-fight bowing and false modesty after moments earlier acting like a total piece of shit to his opponent. Ask anyone who's new to UFC/MMA: at first they think Anderson is this awesome Matrix ninja, but then they see the bullshit in several fights and the typical reaction is along the lines of "why is he being such a fucking asshole and not fighting serious and with some humility?" Great fighter, but completely horrible personality. Made it almost impossible to root for anyone in Silva vs. Sonnen.
