Should I play it with my 360 pad, or mouse/keyboard?
Yeah, I was tempted but I'll wait too.I will buy it eventually, but I have little motivation to buy games with upcoming DLC (single player, anyway). I'd prefer to buy a game once and get the complete experience. I'm content to wait.
Knife of Dunwall is not stand alone, and thus requires the main game to play. But it is selected separately from the menu and can be played at any time.
It's part one of two covering Daud's perspective of events. It is three missions long, length depending on your pay style, speed, and will to explore. With the exception of maybe the last mission, the missions themselves are constructed like Dishonored's best, with multiple zone, paths, assassination techniques, lore, and optional secrets.
Part 2, titled The Brigmore Witches, should be properly announced tomorrow.
EDIT: Dunwall City Trials is an arcade driven pack. No story to speak of, but instead a series of challenges based on speed, power usage, assassination, theft, puzzle solving, and so on. For what it is, a score focused arcade mode, it's actually very good and what should be expected from that kind of DLC. But it is what it is, and if you're not really into arcade stuff without story it probably wont appeal.
Just bought it! Hope it doesnt turn out to be such a disapointment that Infinite was.
I'm surprised anyone liked this game. The gameplay is fucking dreadful. It's about as interactive as a DVD menu.

I'm not much of gamer but this was an enjoyable game when I did find the time to play through it...
I've recently been messing around with SweetFX and CRT shaders for it and it looks really nice and old school:

You obviously played a different game then.

it's an ok game, I got it for free with my GPU I think
worth $5-$10
I just don't want to see any animals being actively hurt. How bad is the slaughterhouse level? Are the whales all already dead with the one exception you can kill? And how horrific do they depict its situation? :-\The whole economy of the city runs on whale oil as an energy source, and collectibles are made out of whale bones, so hopefully the presence that stuff throughout the game doesn't put you off. Fair warning though: the DLC has a slaughterhouse level, so be prepared to see whale carcasses ().and a live whale that can be put out of its misery

Yeah, I actually looked this up on YouTube and it's fine. What about the main game? Just ships in the distance with no real signs of suffering? If I recall correctly, there's one dead one, partially butchered, and one live one (intact with no obvious injuries), and the live onecan be killed by electrocution, but the animation isn't particularly horrific, just some brief spasms. You can pluck out its eye for a side quest but there's no animation for that.

Maybe that's a bit too harsh, but you may have a point.No. I'll wait for the GOTY edition with all the DLC included.
It's a first-person game. On PC. With lots of vertical movement. Mouse and keyboard, of course.

Eh, it's not like this game is Counter Strike or Battlefield multiplayer or some shit...Dishonored plays just fine with the 360 pad. If he's more comfortable using a controller, then he should use his 360 pad with this game.
Me and you are going to be friends. I approve this post. I rented the game, but feel asleep. I'll wait for the next sale.

Look, the game is not without flaws, no doubt about that... But this is objectively some big stinking pile of bullshit.I'm surprised anyone liked this game. The gameplay is fucking dreadful. It's about as interactive as a DVD menu.
