Infamous second son new screens

It never ceases to amaze me the insane particle effects going on in this game. Particles are just coming out of every orifice every millisecond in inFamous: Second Son.

That's my only issue with open world games. Not enough NPC's going about their business. Maybe we won't have that problem anymore.

probably not seeing how with an increase in specs comes an increase in size... If it was the same sized area like previous games then probably but for me a better a.i would be more expected then a larger n.p.c count

Yea, I'm really hoping they become a little more frequent. I still like some FPS games, but nothing beats exploring a whole new world meant to be picked apart piece by piece. Of course, only certain developers can even make a convincing enough open world that feels alive and uniquely crafted in all areas and not just a big empty environment with just a lot of reused assets and not a lot of unique areas to explore. Infamous 2 improved so much over the first game in that area that I can't wait to see Seattle and what they could do with good hardware.

Yep, Seattle is a ripe for open-worldness IMO. I live in Portland and I always think with all the bridges and SW hills it would be great, but I'll take Seattle!

Well, considering that almost everything announced for next-gen so far is an open world game, you just might get your wish.

Ha, too true. It's probably why I'm so excited for the upcoming consoles, it's probably my favorite genre and I think it can be fit into almost any type of narrative from RPG to action game, Skyrim to Sleep Dogs.

Yeah. It's something that I always point out when I show people graphic intensive games. Metro 2033 on the PC was a great example of insane particles. I always thought the Forge in Halo when you could zoom in around an explosion was probably one of the coolest things in videogames.

I like the clean look and clearly next gen, but for me it doesn't look as good as some people made out.

Even the video, some nice effects, but the levels seemed empty, the city was clearly unfinished and also empty in the background. This can improve of course.

Early build code for a game coming out the middle of next year

Yeah, how dare a game 9 months from release show pop-in on a console that the devs thought was going to have 4GB of RAM during development.

Hey, I'm not knocking it, I just hope it doesn't have that much pop in. I wouldn't begin to speculate why, but sometimes these issues just aren't fixed. This game is pretty much the only thing I want to play from the PS4 lineup so far so I'm going to be harder on it because of that :)

Idiots who say they aren't buying a game because of pop in are full of shit and were never planning on buying the game or PS4.

I'm starting to think that maybe only XBONE fanboys know who I am.

Anyone who says they aren't buying a game because of pop in are full of shit and were never planning on buying the game or PS4. If you were to say this isn't my style of game, or I'm more into JRPGs then you would sound credible. But pop in? Really? Go jump off a bridge.\

EDIT: this wasn't directed at you BugDug13. It was directed at the guy you were responding to. I'm knee deep in BS.

That GIF is the first thing I've seen from this that's really impressed me. Everything else looks good, but for whatever reason hasn't blown me away.

Gotta say. This game is actually more exciting to me, than GTA V.... I feel bad saying it, but something about it.

I think it's becuase I know it'll play like inFamous. And my last GTA experience was GTA IV.

inFamous took everything I loved from Crackdown and turned it up to 11. The only thing missing for me was the fact that you could play multiplayer co-op on Crackdown which would be AWESOME for the inFamous series.

Plus games that go for complete realism doesn't necessarily make for the most fun games to play. For atmosphere, exploration, and living city, GTA wins (at least the ones not set in Liberty City. Sorry but New York is boring for GTA for me). For actual gameplay, GTA doesn't come close to inFamous for me.

Looks a bit sterile and washed out. Or is this just the style of the game?

I remember the first two Infamous games having more warmer graphics.

only the second game had warmer graphics , the first was "dry" because we were in a city that just experienced the blast and everything was falling appart.

Oh nice.. Did you enjoy playing it?

Sadly, I didn't get to play it. It was just like, a 10 minute walkthrough by the devs. I sat in line for that and Killzone: Shadowfall. Both looked awesome, but inFAMOUS Second Son just had me pumped. Then again, I'm a huge inFAMOUS fan, so I would have more than likely been excited just because of more inFAMOUS.

I think what stuck out to me the most about the presentation was the crispness. You know how in inFAMOUS 1 and 2, when you were in certain areas of the map, you'd get that crisp, 60fps? Well, Second Son had that crispness throughout the entire demonstration. The visuals were clean, smooth, and the animations very fluid. It was the little things that stood out to me the most, like the way Delsin moves when exiting an airvent, or how he flicks his wrists when launching his fire attacks. Really impressive stuff.

The Sucker Punch guys were also really cool dudes, and I talked to them for a little bit after the presentation. They definitely have my money when this game launches.

EDIT: I'm kind of hoping that the PS4 does for Sucker Punch what the PS3 did for Naught Dog: put them on the map, and getting them the attention they deserve.

Meh. Don't care if you've made similar comments about xbox games, at the end of the day your reason for not buying a game is still silly. It's your opinion, sure, I'm just telling you your opinion sucks (in this instance). ;)

One one hand it's annoying it's not there for launch day. But as Sterling said, you don't just want a good launch, you want good quality sustained. Hopefully this drops in 4-6 months after release and gives us more ongoing momentum rather than drip drip flood drip flood flood drip drip drip drip drip flood.

You better be able to drive those cars. You can't make such pretty cars and not allow the player to drive them

I wonder if they will. Their excuse for everything in the PS3 games was that because you were electric, you made guns explode in your hands and whenever you got into a car, it stopped working or blew up or something. A guy who is not naturally electric as the protagonist makes me wonder what excuse they'll use this time if you can't use guns and cars.

I don't think these are bullshots at all.

My biggest concern so far is, where the hell is everyone (and their cars)? It's so sparse.
