LOL well then Im glad From got a +1 sale from you then... Some pc games takes some tweaks and mods to get working nicely.. The game plays amazingly with a 360 pad and fucking looks incredible on pc.

That's a problem and should not be the case. I don't blame anyone at all for not wanting to support bad ports that require fan fixes to be good.
No, it needs to be more negative than that. A title written like that can be taken in a positive matter. This is not a positive situation.

Pretty much this. I seriously wonder why you are playing on the PC if you can't download easy fixes. I can only imagine if you get a smartphone and it "doesn't work" out of the box.
Even the first Amazon review for Dark Souls PC states that you should download DSfix. No excuses.

From a technical perspective, it isn't that poor of a port.
The game is actually fairly well optimized. Even when downsampling and with other post-process effects, I was not using up the majority of my GPU or CPU.
No crashes during the entirety of my 140 hours played with the game.
The only big issues can be attributed to ignorance really. FROM has no idea how bad GFWL is, doesn't know how to make KB/M controls work, and had no idea computers can render at 2100p
If only there was a fix that would take all of 2 minutes of your time, right?

Yep, we know it's a shitty port, they know it's a shitty port, and there are no excuses - only the evidence that Dark Souls II will provide as to whether From's explanation is to be taken at face value, or if it was just laziness (I'm betting on the former).
So now there's only one thing left to do:
It wouldn't be so bad if mouse movements actually corresponded 1:1 with the camera in a smooth, non-jerky way, you could remap mouse buttons, and map secondary mouse buttons., and they gave you the option of an over-the-shoulder camera.
Just take the 2-3 minutes to install and configure DSFix and I guarantee you'll be much happier. This sort of thing comes with the territory of PC gaming sometimes, embrace it!

lol, need4speed you're not making any sense. You already bought it, so might as well just fix it and play the amazing game. Besides, getting a refund as protest would not really be much of a protest, and From already knows they made a mistake. Yup, not making any sense. A shame I can't run it in my laptop, because that would be the best version of a masterpiece, so just appreciate you at least have a good PC and take advantage of it.

Eh. Don't trust From? Then wait a day or two before getting DS 2 on PC. That'll tell you whether or not you should buy it. DSFix worked just fine for me, and it whips. A far better experience than my XBox, and I haven't even beat Taurus yet (steam sale pick up from a day ago).

I know this is a few pages back but I'd just like to comment on this. The game is a third person action RPG with direct camera control, as far as I'm concerned this game was begging to be played with a mouse and keyboard. More so than any locked framerates or low rendering resolutions (although those are indeed bad) what disappointed me the most about the port was that the mouse and keyboard controls were terrible because I was really looking forward to playing the game without the need for a gamepad. Of course, proper controls would have needed a bit more retooling than I could probably expect From to make (I doubt anyone on the development team has ever played a game like this with a keyboard and mouse before) so I guess I should have expected them to be horrible.
The Dark Souls port doesn't come bundled with dsfix so you need to download it separately. It's an unofficial patch made by a guy named Durante. The game has incredible graphics with the patch and unparalleled game play.

After finishing SR3 I picked up the PC version of 2 on whim during a Steam sale a few months ago. I tried playing it a few times now but I just can't play it... Ctrl and Shift buttons for menu navigation were the first sign this was a steaming pile.
How are the console versions compared to the PC version?
Numerous people in this thread have presented you with a relatively painless solution to those problem, you've just chosen to pout instead of doing something about it. It's like you want to be unhappy and resentful.
Most people who have semi-decent PCs are running it at like 4x native resolution and double the framerate with little effort. That part isn't really magically done with the DSfix either. It takes 30 seconds to setup and you have it getting rid of like all problems. It's one of the best games this gen, and missing it because you spent more effort complaining about it than applying the patch is a bad way to do it.

I ran GTV IV on my old C2D and GTS 250 and performance was pretty good, so I don't understand why all of you are talking about a bad port.
