There will not be a price drop. (officially) That you can be sure of. They're making the thing more valuable by having the games (finally). That's their strategy. They can't make a profit on the hardware if they drop the price so soon. And even if that were to happen, it wouldn't be more than 50.

The only thing that might happen this year is a Deluxe White model and/or a bunch of bundles (Mario 3D World/Zelda) for the Holidays.

Ordered the white 8gb bundle yesterday and glad I did, it sold out now on Amazon.co.uk. 149 pounds is not too bad.
 
I just realized that there are a ton of good games coming to wiiU this fall. I already have Pikmin and wonderful 101 preordered but there's still quite a few games I'm interested in. Sonic, COD, watchdogs, rayman, and the usual ninty games. Obviously I'm not gonna get them all. It's gonna be hard picking which ones. Perhaps sonic and cod or watch dogs.
 
I didn't know where else to ask but I will get my Wii U in a few hours, I got the Zombi U bundle but I was tginking about buying NSMBU but I was wondering if I can play coop using a gamepad and a pro controller?

Good question, I've only played it with my kids with an gamepad and a wiimote. Let me check the manual.

edit: nope: back of the box says only wiimote is supported.

Many thanks, but I was wondering since I read somewhere that to play coop mode in the traditional way you couldn't use the gamepad you had to use 2 wiimotes which sadly currently I have none.

I think this is still the case post-patch. What the patch did was allow the Pro controller to act as a wii remote replacement for single or multiplayer. You still can't, to my knowedge, use the gamepad for multiplayer aside from placing blocks.

That sucks :/
I think Nintendo should allow us to play it with any combination posible. The block placing mechanic looks boring and I want to play the game coop. I guess I'll buy a Wiimote since I'm planning to buy Pikmin 3 too.

You're better off having a Wiimote+ and Nunchuk in the house as a Wii U owner. That you don't have one also means you never had a Wii apparently and thus you now have the chance to dig into the amazing catalog!

I did had a Wii which was stolen sadly, but I'm planning on buying many Wii titles too I love that the Wii U features BC, that's one of the main reason why I bought it.

I still don't understand why a Wiimote+ and a nunchuk are over $50.

Try to find deals. Maybe hunt down a copy of Flingsmash or Wii Party that comes with a Wiimote+ packed in for relatively cheap (so you can sell the base game for a few bucks). Or just get the Skyward Sword bundle :D
 
Im looking forward for the Deus Ex release (but i hope they dont go ahead with the idea of making it more expensive than the PS3/360 version)

anyway, does anybody knows if they will add the original Deus Ex as a bonus?

They never said it will include anything like that, so "no" is a safe bet most likely.

100% not. why would they do this? they'd need to port the unreal tournament engine to PS3, 360 and Wii U in order to do this. that's a crapton of work without any benefits to them.
 
I just have to say, New Super Luigi has to be the best game on the system after MH3U. So damn good, the best Nintendo game I've played in YEARS.

Done and done. I loved Wii Party so this seems like an obvious choice, especially since it may be at a discounted price (I'm not sure what the MSRP will be).

Boo. Paid $22.40 on Thursday. Oh well. Won't cry over $3.90.

Though my first impression on the game is a little tepid. All the initial cars handle like dump trucks, and I knew there's not much structure to the game, but it's even less than I expected. I also knew about no local multi going in, but that still stings.

I'll keep at it, but feels like a bit of a chore a few hours in..

YMMV with a game like Nintendo Land, but I'd say it's certainly worth $40 if not full price, most especially if you have friends to play with. A way better game than people give it credit for being. I'd go so far as to call it a vital Wii U title. $12.95 for it is absolutely bonkers.
 
Man, I really want to order Need for Speed, but I have a diehard vendetta against racers without local multiplayer. I feel like it'll be a great game, but that's one thing that really just kills me. Can anybody attest to its quality or lack thereof? I'm also really unsure about the idea of an open world racer... it sounds kind of pointless to me? Like, I much prefer the structure of Tony Hawk to the structure of Skate, even if the latter is just as good mechanically.
 
Nintendo Land for $12.50 should be a no-brainer for anybody that grew up in the arcades (single player) or is looking for a 4 to 5 amazing multiplayer experience.
 
The Mass Effect 3 deal is very tempting. However with Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, and possibly Splinter Cell on the buy pile I don't think I can or should waste the money. Especially knowing that I won't get anything in the future from EA on the Wii U. My big concern is should I spend the $30 credit on getting Pikmin 3 digitally or use for eShop games on either the Wii U or 3DS. Can't decide.
 
Unfortunately I've run out of space on my Wii U hard drive (my brother had the bright idea to download LCU) for any major download offers. Are there any particular good hard drives that people found to not have any speed issues while having a reasonable cost?

If this is how you feel, then I would suggest you give it a miss. I had similar misgivings, and I ended up barely playing it (PC version).

EDIT: Then again....that price...

Yeah, as I said above, the fact that it almost totally lacks structure is odd for me. The last NFS game I played (long time ago; Underground? The one with Brooke Burke.) had more structure than this, and don't remember it having extreme understeer for every initial vehicle (seriously, in MWU the cars I've driven so far won't even turn in a 100 acre field). I'm assuming I need more upgrades but still; poor first impression.
