Anyone else think that infamous second son is the best looking next gen exclusive?

I had not seen this game before. I just looked up the trailer and my mind has been blown thoroughly. First by the damn graphics, it looks amazing and the setting, damn. And it's open world it looks like, that's insane. Then my mind was blown 5 mins in when I noticed this shit was coop. I thought the people talking were npcs lol. Then at the end with the pvp? Holy fuck straight into my veins! Most anticipated game for me. Best looking I think.

Ha ha! That happened to me exactly, almost word-for-word.

If that quantum break game looks like it did in the trailer then that one.

If the deep down fire actually looks like that and isn't scripted then that too.

Killzone city trailer looked very very good but the jungle gameplay looks bad, and it's 30 fps gross.

also man, seeing that watchdogs pc gif, what a huge fucking downgrade that game has gotten since.

I don't think so. Killzone takes the cake, so far, IMO.

But Second Son is the one that most interests me.. It's a shame it's not making launch.

Oh you have got to be kidding =p

That music is absolutely epic as far as I'm concerned. The music and sound effects in the new KI are incredible to me, and is what made me interested in the game.

And getting interested in KI is actually one of the reasons why I got back into fighting games after having not played a single one basically since tekken 4.

Second Son looks amazing to me despite the fact I don't care for the lead. KZ:SF, Forza 5 and Ryse are the best looking launch exlusives imo. If the Division ends up like that trailer, then that game will be hard to beat. But it's Ubi so I don't put a lot of faith in it happening. Also I really want to see more about Quantum Break.

Killzone looks far more impressive to me, it's not even close. But Infamous is open world so that's to be expected.

For X1 I would go with Forza but smh at all the people in here shitting on KI. No one looking at that game in motion would mistake it for a current gen game, GTFO with that.

Thought Infamous 2 was pretty good but I hope Infamous 3 is a massive departure from the series. If Im just following markers on the minimap again for 90% of the game Ill be bummed.

I really have not seen much of next gen games but going by pr screenshots kill zone is probably the best looking one so far.

I would be underestimating you if I were to assume that you don't know that not playing a game because of the way a protagonist looks is silly to say the least.

I don't know anything of the sort. Why do you think it's so silly? I can think of many games I have written off because I don't like the look of the player character. I should add that it's often not looks alone but looks tell a lot about the character.

Lollipop Chainsaw tells the story of a protagonist who is a ditzy cheerleader, don't care for her design at all, but I played the game and I liked it. That's my point.

Sure, if you have a rig to run it better.

Absolutely. Detailed models/effects and large gameplay scale.

Division too, but it seemed like choppy framerate. It will look phenomenal on PC if it's there.

I hope The Division actually looks as good as Ubisoft have promised.

We all know how bad Watch_Dogs now looks on the console after their initial reveal looked so good.

But I remain sceptical. I would be thoroughly surprised if The Division looks as good as the footage they showed at E3.

Yep, looks great.

inFamous is one of my top 5 this gen. Can't wait for the new one.

On the KI matter... Aside the whole "C-C-C-C-C-C-OMBO BREAKEEEEER" madeness I saw at EVO, it's really interesting so far.

That's personally one of the least impressive looking games...just considering the type of game it is.

Although I don't think Killer Instinct is the best looking title graphically, you really have to see it in motion running at 1080p and 60fps before judging, that's what all the impressions say at least, the game is a sight to behold in motion

It's not a very intelligent outlook to any media. What if the character is meant to look annoying as part of the story?

On topic: I really dig the clean look of SS, but personally I was most impressed with Mario Kart 8.

infamous/the order

but i want to see more deep down. im really feeling that game. and if its improved since we last saw it then damn.

Not enough sparks.

I wish Infamous was coming out at launch. Its definitely my most anticipated game for next gen. I guess Knack and all the cross-gen games will have to suffice until then.

I saw KI at EVO. The only thing impressive about it was the IQ. It looks super clean.

I'd definitely give the nod to Infamous. I'm hoping I can get in to this game because it sounds like there will be all types of different powers.

I love how half the people here don't know what exclusive means.

I'd have to go with Killzone but Infamous looks badass too.

Yeah but there's a difference between not caring for a character design and feeling actively put off by the character. If I'm playing an action/adventure game like Infamous I need to have some kind of connection with the player character. I need to be rooting for them. If I can't stand them then I just don't feel any motivation to play the game.

Maybe if I had way more time to play games I would pick up games without this requirement but I don't so I'm very picky. And I am not saying I need to be playing as some goody two-shoes, hot-looking golden boy. If they're flawed characters then that's cool but just not someone I think is a really annoying, douche. Does that make sense?

Graphics are fine, but it's the gameplay that makes this the best game yet shown. People who label this as "just another open world game" are truly missing the point.

This is, first and foremost, a superhero game. No other game makes you feel like a superhero within a real world setting like this puppy here.

One of the best controlling games ever made for me (talking about inFamous 1 and 2).

I wanted to discuss this but was concerned about derailing the thread.

Anyway, this this this....etc

EDIT: Woops DP. Sorry

Particle effects don't make a game look better, just busier.

If they could hunker down a stable fps, that'd be a sight to behold. When it would briefly shoot up in Infamous 1 (around the sparsely populated dock areas), the game played and looked dramatically better. Sooooo smooth.

That really is too many sparks. It makes the action look pretty fake, actually.

For w/e reason I can't get onboard this KI hype train. Probably because the franchise itself has always come off as mediocre to me, like some poor man's Mortal Kombat.

The graphics were neat for their time, tho.
