See this is the kind of vegetation mod I want for Fallout 3 and Skyrim. It still looks lush and green, but not Crayola green.

There are better examples of this game's quality writing, but this was the only shot I had of some of the text in KRZ

Can you still buy Project Cars? I really want it once I get a new GFX card.

Unfortunately, no. It will be released on steam though, so that's good. Perhaps by time you get a new card people will be able to buy in again.

They're taking a while to get much of anywhere though. :/

The amount of detail in Project Cars is silly. Was just playing Most Wanted the other day and every time I do, I think it looks alright. Until I see Project Cars again...

Oh well.

Project CARS may be technically superior, but it is definitely tougher to get a properly interesting shot than it is in Most Wanted. And pcars actually has a bunch of issues with low res shadows and envmaps and bland textures.
It's interesting how off and on the game is, and how boring it can look at times.
In gameplay though, especially inside the car, this doesn't show though. It looks consistently phenomenal and immersive as hell.

I dunno. I want the next NFS game. Or forza 5 on pc. Finally a racing game with good looking backgrounds. (Or Drive club?)

And nice MW shots.

Also, I've never been a huge fan of Duncan's pcars shots. I like a lot of hat he does, but especially if you go on the pcars forum gallery, there's some people really squeezing the best out of it. I'm not sure if steaight cars are Duncan's cup of tea.

As an experiment to highlight my point (i just remember the gist of the shot):

I'm not sure what you're point is? I'm drooling over that :) Also, I freakin love that car.

It'd be nice to have some control over the time of day in Most Wanted. I should maybe figure that out with Cheat Engine...

I suppose my point is not really a very clear one actually. There are pluses and minuses, and I guess my comment stemmed from wanting more to do in pCARS, from a screenshotting perspective.

Making the comparison images was meant to show how pCARS can be a bit bland sometimes. The only part of my image that I like better is the nicely detailed suspension, but I'd say yours feels more like a moment.

Sometimes I get a feeling when trying to get good pCARS shots, that I'm just putting my computer through its paces.

...eh i dunno.

And yeah, the caterham seven is fucking great. I would love to actually drive one.

As someone who screenshots Project Cars a lot I get what your saying. I think part of it is due to the unfinished state of the game though. Although a car model may be 100% done the tracks and lighting have still been a work in progress over the past two years and are not done yet. You have to work to avoid placeholder track textures and trees etc. Also due to the day and night change, and many different lighting and weather combinations, some of them definitely look better than others.

I was also surprised that I was not a fan of Duncan's pcars shots as most of his stuff is amazing. Maybe he just didn't spend much time with it.

Here's two low quality imgur galleries. The first is just some of the best shots I've seen taken by the community. The second is a gallery of my shots.

pCars community shots: http://imgur.com/a/ULQeq
My shots: http://imgur.com/a/WRqDx

As you can see almost all of my shots are close in to avoid unfinished track textures etc. Nice shots though btw. I really like the second shot of the lotus.

Yeah, that is very much the issue. There are a few other things as well, and I'm pushing a bit on the forums to get the devs to help. Such as shadow resolution, and control over the adaption (some shots get fucked by that adaption). What I would give for a photo mode like GT5's (with the locations and everything), but with Pcars engine.

Also, the one single thing that would make Pcars shots insane, would be a high quality Bokeh DOF, with the control of the current DOF. Oh man it'd be over.

Anyway, great shots in both galleries! The screenshot on the Pcars forum is pretty insane too (Though aloooooott of post-sharpening).

Surprisingly, my favorite shot from pcars is one posted on kotaku, from a source they didn't disclose:

Any way to get non-blurry action shots in this game?

You can bind developer commands to keys and as a result can toggle "viewmode" and "view postprocess"

One of those is bound to turn off and motion blurring.

the Viewmode command toggles through like 8 different views.

Thanks, I'll look into the viewmode command.
