How did Flash's original powers work?

He was just really fast. Not fast enough to break dimensions, have super punches, travel in time, etc. Just fast.

Almost all of his villains used tech rather than powers... just like Arrow. That is why they are a good fit.

He better still kill fools.

Why wouldn't he?

But how fast is fast?

Are we talking sonic booms?

No. He was a bit faster than Superman, who was "faster than a speeding bullet".

Well, if we're still gonna remain in the domain of tech rather than metahumans, I'm probably cool with that.

Who should play Barry? Anyone got any ideas?

NTGYK, you will love the Flash don't worry and the Arrow world will make good sense with him and how it leads to his own show and world, etc. I think it's a pretty awesome good thing to be fair as to be fair Arrow does have a tiny of fantasy to it and a little mythical of magic related doesn't do no harm, it will still have that realism touch and make it plausible.

That's what I mean though, in the arrowverse it will be done by sci-fi and tech, that's what the "magic" of the flash will be based on. Not that fantasy magic :p

The Rogues is where Arrow takes a turn to the stupid.

If this turns into Smallville 2.0...

We will all feast on your delicious tears. I would guess that at least half of the viewership would not mind supernatural powers and stuff :p (Including me, however grounded this is. It is not easy to try to have it "grounded" when Ollie is basically an unstoppable man, often taking down 15-20 armed man who supposedly know what they are doing. So...that about wraps the grounded part up. :p)

Yeah, but I can suspend my disbelief cause we know Oliver underwent brutal treatment and a training regime to rival Spec Ops forces. When he comes up against someone like Malcolm, he gets curbstomped.

I dunno, when we venture beyond that into superpowers, things get iffy. We'll see how it's handled.

There's already been a bit of magic on the show.

Yao Fei can make a person seem like they're dead and then revive them with a god damn punch. So can Oliver in the present. Some more magic shit? Yao Fei never actually taught that magic move to Oliver because he was busy getting shot in the face. Dude learned it by being punched.

Magic.

The latter seasons of Smallville were the best tho. It was a straight up Superman show and it was awesome.

Yeah the last 2-3 seasons were great, it's too bad they got a lower budget, a few cool sets beyond the recurring daily planet, street, apartment, and farm would have been nice.

Yes. I think very low level magic (like Constantine) would actually fit the Arrowverse more than typical metahumans.

There's a lot of asian mysticism in the show/Nolanverse. It never gets to the point out right magic and I would prefer it to never cross that line, but if they did a slight step beyond it into some low-level rituals would fit more than a typical superpowers and most of all wouldn't be anywhere near as damaging to the balance of power between big players in the world.

i hate how much Johns is involved in this, that guy has become poison to what ever he touches. Also i like how they kept him out of the DC movie/tv stuff since he ran Green Lantern into the ground.

He's still in "the TV stuff", considering the fact that he's, y'know, still writing for TV.

The Green Lantern production had always seemed like such a strange thing. Wasn't that movie fucked long before Johns & Co. were brought in?

Oh my fuck.

Dylan Bruce (Paul in Orphan Black) will be guest starring in Arrow for multiple episodes. He will be "Laurel’s new co-worker Adam Donner, a corn-fed, All-American lawyer who is described as smart and charismatic."

Holy fuck. I can't believe it's happening. Amell and Amell 2.0 are going to meet. They're going to act together.

Wooow. This shit is meta.

I still think funnily enough that Amell has waaay more charisma than Paul's boring ass. But they're both pretty blank

Told ya it was coming

Laural Lance took the files from her bag and put them safely away in her safe. Once that was done she had the whole night to herself to relax and eat delicious bons bons. She turned to head towards the bedroom when she heard a loud buzzing noise followed by a flash of light in her living room. The light was bright like lightening and suddenly a space rift appeared. Out of it came a woman dressed in black with a cape.
Who is this? She looked familiar but Laurel could not place who.
The woman approached her and asked her a question: "Are you Laurel Lance?"
Laurel answered hesitantly,"...yes...who are you?"
The woman stared into her eyes, "They call me Black Canary."
"Black Canary?" Laurel had no idea who that was, but she could not take her eyes off of the woman calling herself Black Canary. There was something about her that made her heart beat.
"I'm your mother, Laurel." Laurel was taken aback. "What?!" Mom...no this can't be. Is this real life?"
The Black Canary took Laurel's hand,"It's OK honey. I've come to give you my powers so that one day you can fight the scum that has infested Starling City.
"I always wanted to fight crime, to take back this city. I'm honored mom."
"In order to be given such power I must kiss you, Laurel." The Black Canary approached Laurel's face and went in for the kiss. Their lips touched and chills went down Laurels body. She felt the Black Canary's power flow through her. Laurel Lance was no more. In her place stood the Black Canary.

I still maintain that Amell is a good actor.

You could have taken this to such greater heights. It is not your finest work, which is a shame.

I want a raging boner at the end of this, Wozzly. Don't be afraid. Embrace your inner smut whore.

I have let you down...I won't do it again. I've been out of the game for too long.

I honestly have not kept up with any of the news that came out of comic con. Busy week for me. I just know saw the Laurel Lance replacement talk. Can't wait for season two tho.

About Flash. I don't want this to become bogged down like Smallville did with all these heroes and villains. Let the series breath for a bit then introduce them. I don't mind like cameos for them like having the Flash show up but without his powers. This thread is going fast. I need super speed to keep up.

Wozzly, I'm surprised you haven't leapt to the idea that there could be something... deeper... going on between Laurel and Sara.

I'm on it! This will take time as I need to be sure it's up to my old LannisterSlayer standards.

To be clear are we talking about Sara Lance? If so you know I love a good family relationship.

I happened to be watching something from Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep earlier and realized
Slurry voiced Aqua, now I can't take her seriously.
can't unhear the slurs

I think the whole slur thing is some conspiratorial in-joke against me. Cause I can't hear the slurring ever.
Early in the season I thought it was pretty noticeable, never really disliked her much or anything for it.

though it is really bad in the game, almost every other sentence. kinda disappointing because she actually has a nice voice.

Finished season one and thought that the whole season was pretty damn good. Will purchase on Blu-Ray. Really excited for season two now.

Spade seems like a genuine good guy. What's the story in the comics that turns him bad?

slade and shado have a child but it turns out to be oliver's. it becomes a very violent love triangle/revenge plot from there on.

i think their child ends up becoming hawkeye in the comics.
