It could be largely automated. As in price automatically drops for whatever reason (Amazon secret) stock is cleared but is automatically re-ordered by the system. Provided not too many people backorder it but when it comes back in stock price will just shoot up. Or if it is out of print it will linger for months in an out of stock case.
Oh yeah if too many people backorder it Amazon just cancels everyone (see: Looney Tunes boxset a few months back) as they lose enough money to notice.
What's the cheapest way to buy a current gen console these days?
I don't currently own one (PC only) but might pick one up for GTA V. I was leaning towards the 360 due to the fact they're usually a bit cheaper (is that right?) but I'd probably also pick up The Last of Us if I bought a PS3, so there might be more value there. I do have a PS4 on order though so not sure if that's worth it. I'd probably sell the 360 again once I was done with GTA V.
Any good deals around for either system?

Persona 4 Arena PS3 made the big drop to 12.98 pounds on Zavvi for those who were waiting (on top of already waiting for the game to come out 9 months later).

I'd plump for a PS3. Game do the 12GB model for £95 used when they have stock, worth keeping an eye. Brand new ones are £135.

Part of my BB order arrive yesterday, and I'm relieved, despite them not appearing to be new games.
Pandora's Tower had a slight crease on the front cover, and I couldn't notice anything on DQVI. Both had their Club Nintendo points, however none were shrink wrapped. As I said, I'm relieved as it could've easily been far worse.

This is pretty much in line with my experiences. They never ship sealed games, it's often 'new' stock that's been on the shelf or was shipped back to their warehouse due to not selling in store. The discs, etc are often near mint, the cases sometimes have a few scuff marks or creases, etc and often still have the price stickers on from the store.
Anyway, still waiting for my order. Will hopefully arrive tomorrow. Really looking forward to checking out Project Zero 2 and DmC.

It's one of those games that if I never get to play it, I don't think I'd care that much. I'm not really a fighting game kinda guy, it was all about the Persona, so I can take or leave it pretty much.

One of my favourite games of the generation. I implore people to buy it.
I bought Persona 4 Arena last week for £14.45 via Flubit, so was a bit miffed yesterday that I could have saved more by just waiting a few more days.
This morning I got an email from Paypal titled "Refund from Flubit Ltd", so I checked Flubit and it said "the retailer could not ship the item because your postal address isn't confirmed on Paypal (it is though!) therefore we have cancelled your order". The game already arrived last Saturday, so I've ended up getting P4A for free.

Use a real US address as your billing. They don't do any checks to make sure it's yours.

Remember banks usually levy a 1£ charge (dependent on each bank) on purchases made internationally. It might be better to just ask someone from the US to purchase to avoid this due to not being able to use paypal.

I don't think you can cancel this if you pre-order due to them e-mailing the Early Access code separately. So stupid. Shopto let me cancel easily and that had Early Access as well. Guess I am stuck.

My bank takes a 1.5% cut, so it seems to depend on the bank. But their conversion rates seem to be more favourable than those of Paypal.

Zavvi's 5.99 euro international tracked shipping option is the exact same shit as their free shipping, they send you a tracking link that doesn't work and orders still take an eternity to arrive. Shittiest online store ever.
Yeh, Paypal is a bit shoddy with those conversion rates.
Half of my free shipping orders have that tracking thing and those always take an extra week to arrive compared to identical Zavvi orders WITHOUT that tracking.
