Why is everyone predicting all this wild and crazy new stuff when Nintendo has clearly stated:
They might have one or two minor surprises, but I imagine they'll just be talking about the stuff slated from now until the holidays.

Not expecting much. A price cut for the Wii U right about now would make sense but might also hurt Pikmin 3 Sales in the US, so I doubt we'd get something like that.

-New wonderful 101 gameplay footage along with some promotional deal and date for a Kamiya only nintendo direct
- Localization for the new wii u gamepad battery and the new wii remote battery pack charger thing.
-Miyamoto thanking people for playing pikmin 3 and revealing secret message or something from the game
- Release Dates for 3D world, donkey kong and wind waker HD
- CoD ghost wii u trailer
- some new trailers for 3DS games like X&Y, Link between worlds and mario party
- some eshop games
what I expect

Eh it's pretty par for the course on any pending direct, game announcement, etc. I'm going to keep expectations tempered and will welcome any nice surprises.

Along with a real account system across the Wii U and 3ds, what Nintendo needs to do is a 14.99 monthly subscription to a netflix like service, but for games. There's a list of 10 games per month you can download for up to 3 months of playability. Each month the games change. That'd be sick and I'd cough up 15 per month in a second.
That would be the ultimate fuck you to the Nintendo haters. The bitter tears line would make it too obvious though. If the whole Direct was just Iwata announcing an Atlus purchase, that would be too funny. Too bad things like that don't happen more often. :lol

Correct. This is definitely not the W101 direct. That will be a different one, likely next week. They will likely clarify/give an exact date during this direct though.

Talking about meltdowns, this is basically the same time of the year that Nintendo announced Bayonetta 2 exclusivity back in 2012, right? It would be epic if they announced another third party exclusive that could generate a similar buzz this year as well... Since Bayonetta 2 is still profiting us bitter fanboys tears to this date...
