Take for instance, the second opening of Dragon Ball Z WE GOTTA POWER.

Look at that mofo, hanging around with Super Saiyans.

I mean sure, he has merged with Kami at that point, and I guess Nail too if he counts, but I'm surprised at how he manages to be the one between Krillin and Saiyans. Hell, I'd say he's probably a better fighter than Goten and Trunks.
 
He'll probably live longer than all of them and the Sayan blood will be watered down to the point where he is the most powerful fighter in the Universe.

And that's cool cause Pic is the best.
 
His moment in the sun is during the Android saga. While Vegeta and Goku are busy in the hyperbolic time chamber, his merging with Kami makes him the strongest in the world (aside from Cell) for that brief window.

He PROBABLY could have beaten 17 over time, but since that fight got interrupted, we'll never know.

By the Buu saga, he's behind everyone and is only above the regular humans.
 
He's amazing at the end of the Freeza saga when he fuses with that other Namek guy, and at the beginning of the Cell one (I mean the Androids), where he seems to be stronger than Vegeta (IIRC) when fighting C17. At any other time he blows pretty hard.

Piccolo is pretty strong, it's just that his strength really no longer matters once Cell comes around. At the point with every Saiyan constantly getting stronger, and the humans fighting less, he's out of the spotlight more. Especially once Goten and Trunks starting fucking around.

He doesn't have an official PL...never scouted or stated. The punching machine is about as close as that gets.

But there's some things you can consider to figure it out, like comparing him getting shot to Goku getting shot. Goku's pl was 10 when he was shot in the head and survived. The farmer in the beginning didn't survive and he was 5. I put Hercule somewhere in between those two numbers.

Goku's not human though so you would have to factor that in.

I'm not so much as sure that Saiyans are bulletproof as much as I am sure that people with higher PLs are.

I can't recall if Tien, Krillin or Yamcha ever have run ins with bullets, but I imagine they'd be alright too.

I think of the fighters in DBZ as kind of like Jedi, you're either force sensitive or you aren't, and some people just can't use their ki to enhance their fighting and therefor their PL doesn't really go up. You can be strong like Hercule, but weak to other things because you don't have the aptitude.
 
He's a bit like Batman.

With planning and preperation he could do well. But unlike batman he couldn't beat superman.

but yes, probably the best fighter out of the lot (from a technical stand point)

He's probably better than Goten and Trunks in fighting for a while before the two were trained.
 
Yeah, the one downside to Dragon Ball was after the realization of Saiyans(that can become Super) > Everything, everyone who wasn't a Saiyan or part Saiyan became irrelevant, which sadly also led to only Goku/Vegeta and their kids being factors by the time we hit the Buu saga, everyone else was fodder, though I guess Piccolo was the best teacher and stayed a bit more relevant then the rest because he still had god sight from the palace.
 
It doesn't really matter. Piccolo is like the one DBZ character who isn't defined by his power level or whatever. Sure, he doesn't really touch Saiyan level strength, but he's so fucking cool no-one cares.

He drove cars with Goku, for Pete's sake.
 
Piccolo is strong but Super Saiyans really do shit on everyone and everything in terms of strength.

Piccolo strongest powerlevel = 150 mil

SSJ4 Gogeta = 150 bil

In DBGT base Goku is still 4-5x Piccolo in terms of powerlevel. Thats just base, no SSJ form.
 
I don't really like powerlevels much. It fundamentally throws away fighting skills at the most part. I like how it was in Dragonball, just pure technical fighting. Goku, Tien, and Piccolo is hands down the most skilled fighters to me. Vegeta and Gohan seems more like brawlers.

Bingo. He is in the lower half portion of that between state, which never would have been achieved if it weren't for his merger with Nails and Kami. Piccolo is WAY above humans in terms of power and the next person below him in terms of power is Krillin who isn't anywhere near SSJ level.

BTW, whoever said Piccolo was below 9000 is completely wrong. He is insanely above that figure... even above Freiza.

Yamcha and Satan is no where near power level 9000 and just for the hell of it, not even Videl either. Just to put things more into perspective.

Hmm... I see what you did there with Super Trunks. As we are strictly talking power levels it makes sense for Super Trunks to be more powerful than Super Goku. If we talk about who's the better fighter than Super Trucks would be below Super Vegeta due to his bulky muscles slowing him down.

Super Trunks was technically stronger than Perfect Cell, but his mass slowed him down and thus he couldn't land enough blows to win.

Goku had the balance of strength AND speed but was still lower in both to Perfect Cell.

That's why I put him above Goku, just with sheer raw power. In theory Goku was more balanced.

Yamcha thinks so in the Buu saga. However, by that point Toriyama had given up on the humans, so it doesn't really matter.

You could argue that Yamcha was wrong because he hadn't seen TenShinHan in 10 years and was just guessing. Both Tien or Krillin got one-shotted by Buu, so in the end they're about the same.

Picollo at his best was 2nd to Goku, but fluctuated between being at that point and being worse the worst of the viable bunch before finally he joined everyone else as not being able to keep up with the Saiyans.
