inFAMOUS Second Son: Taking Control

WOW!!!!!!!!!!

All the powers so far have the most BEAUTIFUL design ever.

The concrete looks like architectural sculptures. The neon just looks absolutely magical. And the smoke moves so wonderfully and is so much better than fire.

These guys are on a serious game here.

Damn, Sony needs to market the hell out of this game. It's BEAUTIFUL and on top of that it looks like so much ridiculous fun. I can't wait to play it.

Something is off....

Why does he drain electricity from the letters but not the owl itself?....

He's not taking electricity, he is taking lights/colors. Its a brand new type of powers.

I don't think it's either. He's taking the heat that emanates from those neon lights. His power is heat-based (smoke, fire, etc) thus it makes more sense that what he absorbs is the heat from the neon lights instead of the light itself.

they mentioned using the DS4 speaker. I hope lots of games use this, it was used to great effect in ZombiU on WiiU. One character in the game communicated to the player via a walkie-talkie which sounded great from the small speaker in the controller.

Done right, it can really add to the immersion

They showed this right after he stole the power from the other conduit. Pretty sure it's a brand new power

Kinda sad this isnt Launch

Also the gameplay is nothing different

clearly the focus is on teh graphics

When I see complaints like this, I have to ask myself what exactly are you looking for? Does every new generation of hardware need to come with completely new gameplay? I only ask because I don't think I'd want that. Taking what I know and LOVE and making it look better, play smoother, have a more dense world, etc... THAT is what I want. I don't want "How in the hell do I play THIS?!?!" I know you've said you're sad this isn't a launch title which I take to mean you like what you're seeing, but I'm pretty sure most people would be disappointed if all the new games for the new systems played completely differently than the games they loved from this generation.

Ultimately, I think it's about refinement, not redefining...

What if he is chosing what to absorb?

That woul explain why only certain lights are absorved and others not.

Or maybe he likes the owl and don't want to take the light off him lols.

If the triggers on the DS4 don't feel very good, I really hope we have the option of just using L1/R1 for shooting and the like. Honestly, I really hate the way triggers feel on most controllers. I prefer the feel of just pressing a button. Seems way more responsive during gameplay.

I'm really fond of night time settings of open world games. I always prefer night time in GTAIV because of all the lights especially when it is raining (light is reflected everywhere). Is Infamous Second Son going to have weather variety?. I believe that is one thing the previous games were lacking.

Something is off....

Why does he drain electricity from the letters but not the owl itself?....

It could be based on how much power he needed to drain. In the old games you would start to drain electricity from a light pole from one end and as you continued to drain, it would keep moving along the light pole. Maybe he only needed a little bit of power on this trailer while that other trailer that shows him draining from the owl as well could have been because he was more empty.

Power leeching looks absolutely incredible. The light removing itself from the source, turning into particles, and swirling into his hand is seamless and like no other effect I've ever seen before. Unique and impressive.

I still can't believe this is an open world launch window title from Sucker Punch.
