Nintendo Downloads - August 2013

Wait, you really think they'd release 3SO or HD Remix on Wii U? Theres absolutely no chance man, play them on PS3 or something. That's like expecting MM9/10 just because MMX on VC sold good.

I'd like MM9/10 actually. Do something similar to VC where if you bought it on Wiiware you get it for like $3 or something.

Yatagarasu has "moved" from 3DS to Vita. I'm shocked. SHOCKED.

Gaijin were lying if that's what they told you. The game had been out on xbla in Australia for months, and both versions would be subject to the same classification.

The Wii U version is self-published, all the other versions were handled by Aksys.

The game is still and was already classified. If I had the rights to distribute say, Halo in Australia, I don't need to get it reclassified.

Anyway, I have a question regarding Wii VC. Since D4 are still doing NeoGeo games, is there any chance they might bring Pulstar and Blazing Star over to PAL/NA? I note they are listed on the JP store, and we do already have JP language versions on the PAL Wii VC (eg Ironclad).

I don't know if it was posted here, but the Sega/M2 team behind the 3D remakes stated that they're not working on any more games beyond the eight they've already completed, but that they do want to do a second "volume" if the first lot does well, with Thunder Blade specifically mentioned as one of the games they'd like to remake.

The OFLC does require specific platform outlines, but even so, it's more a Nintendo thing rather than an OFLC thing, I think--they don't care that someone else already had the game classified, they expect you to do it.

RE: Pulstar/Blazing Star, people have been asking these questions for years. I tend to think that ship has sailed, but what do I know.

Dear Capcom.

I waited patiently for Dungeons and Dragons. I said "NO. I will not buy on XBLA even though it would means far greater multi-player," as only a couple of my friends have a Wii U right now (and they all have 360s). I waited. I waited. I waited. Then you went and announced a crazy awesome Japanese PS3 version with mad extra features and I said "NO. I don't have a PS3 anyway. I'll try to pretend you're not screwing over the rest of the world with that release." I waited. I waited. I waited. Then you put the game on sale on Steam and I said "NO. I will not buy on Steam even if it's cheap." I wanted to start using Wii U for my multi-platforms games.

And then somebody gifted me the game on Steam.

And now I hate you.

Well I hated you before.

But really, you suck.

My $15 will go to some kind indie, I guess.

RE: classification, you might want to check with GoldenHelmet (Just Add Water). He was trying to investigate getting Oddworld Stranger HD classified, and found out that it already had an OFLC rating from its 2005 release on xbox. I would assume that resubmissions of games where no content has been changed should be straight forward.

If I'm wrong, then the classification board here is even more fucked than I thought.

As for Pulstar/Blazing Star - Nam 75 only just came out here, so there are still new games getting released on VC.

Question about Runner 2, it is Wii U Pad only right? No Pro Controller support? >_>

Do they do that stupid ass thing where the SAME picture is on the Pad screen as is on the TV while you're playing?

I find that soooo distracting to the point where I get annoyed.

New and original eShop titles are too risky for Capcom at the moment. It better serves them to release Wii U versions of older games until the userbase is large enough.

So yeah, its quite possible we will see older downloadable games like MM9, HD Remix, and Bionic Commando.

Yeah, as you play Runner2 its the same image on the tv and gamepad. Personally I just turned off the tv and beat the entire game on gamepad. Game is so good. So stronk. So godlike.

'Sup.

It's hard to expect it not to come over. It is a low-risk title for the eShop, not a retail game so they don't have to worry if it doesn't do well.

Super is everything turbo is and more though. I don't understand.

Nostalgia. I still remember the first time I'd heard Turbo was coming out. Caused so much excitement among my friends and I. But by the time Super came out, we were done with SF2 and had moved on to other games, so we never really played it.

Super may well be the superior game, but I have no strong memories of playing it, so it holds little attraction for me.

(This is also why Super Mario World is my favourite game of all time, even though Super Mario Bros 3 is widely acknowledged as the better game.)

I'm not sure it's even nostalgia, people just want to play that version of SF2 they originally played.

So anyone got any impressions of the new titles in EU this week? (Boulder Dash XL, etc, and the NES classic Solomon's Key)

So reading up how the coin rush mode seems to work in NSMB2 I'm not sure about the DLC packs (on sale in Europe). From what I understand you want an easy one for 30k points set that at your highscore, then laugh at anyone who streetpasses...also farm that one to go for whatever happens at a million coins.
or if you're really depressed 10 million

I guess some of the levels might be fun one their own.

Also given the previous system owner had NSMB2 when the retro course was free and had accessed the eShop I hope they downloaded that one. I have a feeling they did not turn on spotpass though :(

YES, new Puzzle Swap panel
in 8 months
(now for Brain Training...*cries*).

I thought Pokémon Tretta Lab on 3DS was barely what one could consider a game and practically useless in the West without the arcade game.

Checked my nintendo premium points, wow had £10

Picked up wonderful 101 for £17.99 on eshop after premium points and pikmin discount!

Nintendo do some things really right...

How long did it take for the first Guild 01 titles to go on sale?

I'm wanting to buy Attack of the Friday Monsters, but if the sale is just around the corner I'd rather wait a bit.

Have you checked how many premium points you got for the wonderful 101?

Likewise. I've held off on all three this time round for this exact reason. Will bite as soon as they drop.

That said, did anyone ever get Bugs vs Tanks? It looks pretty good, but I don't think I ever saw any impressions here.

Not sure exactly, but it was around 6 months.

that long? sigh

I'd like to hear those impressions as well. The German voice-overs are incredible in any case

No no no, the point isn't to pick an easy stage and get 30K coins, anyone can do that. Plus the person on the other end can't beat you (can only tie) so they won't try and it's almost like trolling.

You're supposed to pick a really hard pack and then play it over and over until you have the best score imaginable. That way people on the other end can beat you, but not easily, and they have to play your Streetpass pack for hours until they finally triumph over you.

There really needs to be some more classic RPGs on eShop other than Earthbound.

Breath of Fire II should be out shortly, no? Wasn't there an official announcement about it?

Really interested in Secret of Mana and no I won't just get the Wii VC version. Miiverse really adds to my enjoyment of these games... and I got DDP cash credit to use.

Secret of Mana and FFVI are out in Japan ... Square Enix needs to get its shit together, release them internationally (it's not like they need to translate anything again) and finally nut up and allow screenshots.

Yes, it's one of the hats you can buy with a plaza ticket if you buy the StreetPass DLC. That's not the only handheld/system you can get.

I've got a Virtual Boy mask on my Mii.
Nice. I've been rocking T-Rex since I unlocked it, and haven't looked back!

I want to play FF VI and Chrono Trigger on the gamepad.
