My Wii U is finally here.

Launched the Netflix app and it went to a black screen forever. Sounds about right for Netflix apps.

That's been happening to me lately. It's only been recently, well after the last big update, so I don't think that'll solve it. I just have to force the system off and try again. When it first started, it happened a lot, but now it's less then 10% of the time that I try to go in.

Tempted to get Bit. Trip Saga, but Gaijin games made a comment that implied they might be releasing the old Bit. Trip games on the Vita, and I'd rather play it there. It's only $5 though... Don't want to not buy it because of something that ends up never happening. So I guess I'm buying it...

Lame. I have lots of devices that can be used with Netflix but it would be nice to have it on the gamepad.

I've never had a problem with the Netflix app, but I've seen quite a few people on GAF mention they have.

So is Pokemon Rumble U only the Battle Royale stuff? That's all I've seen in screenshots. The Wii version wasn't much deeper, but my little brothers enjoyed going through the stages and collecting Pokemon, is that still included? Not going to bother getting it if not.

Same thing happens for me. I tried to delete the program from my system and redownload it, but it'll still freeze up on me from time to time. They really need to patch it.

Just battle arenas. The method of collecting Pokemon is slightly different. Instead of seeing what you collect immediately, you get a capsule that is unlocked after the battle.

The Wii U Netflix app is sometimes buggy when starting, but overall it's pretty good. I have watched hundreds of hours with it.... If the program refuses to start correctly you need to go to system settings and delete the Netflix "save file" and restart the app. It should ask you for login and password, and then start normally. I'm not sure why the file gets corrupted so often (maybe once a month for me), but it's easy enough to fix.

Anybody know how much content there is to Pokemon Rumble U? $15 for a pokebrawler sounds mighty tempting.

Does Pokemon rumble U have a demo?

The Wii Pokemon rumble had a demo this should have one too

Rumble U IS a demo... just kidding.

It's even more stripped back than I expected though.

I'm going to assume people reading this have probably played the first two, if not, tldr; get the 3DS version instead.

I'm not sure how many stages there are, but it is slightly more than just a series of Battle Royales since there are challenges and some objective based battles. There will always be four players. If you're playing alone, there will be 3 CPU partners. You can choose which Pokemon they use if you want.

You can have up to 400 Pokemon at a time. You can't manually delete them, so once you hit 400, when you get new ones, the game will automatically delete the lowest powered Pokemon in your collection that aren't favorited (limit 30 I think) or obtained via password.

I don't have any NFC figures, but from what I understand, you can scan in a figure when you start the game up, then play as that figure which you can spend your coins to upgrade power, moves, and abilities. That data can then be saved back to the figure.

You can also scan an NFC figure during gameplay (you can pause to do this) and it'll show up as a support helper. In addition, scanning any NFC chip will call in a helper or powerup (yes, Skylanders, NFC ID/credit cards, etc.)

There is no collection management. Just the Pokemon select screen where you can see the basic stats of each Pokemon and choose which to play as. There is also a "collection" screen which has the entire Pokedex but it's basically just a checklist of icons that light up if you've gotten that Pokemon.

Coins are only used to upgrade NFC figures or pay to continue if you die. There's no more capsule machine, no move machine, no evolving by swapping out old Pokemon. All of that from the other two games is gone.

Overall I can only recommend this to people who really like this series, especially at the price they're charging. If you're new to the Rumble series, the 3DS game is by far the best of the three.

quick question, if i get a nintendo prepaid card ($50) to buy lets say Zelda wii u ($49.99), does it allow me to pay the remainder $6 (ontario tax) on my credit card on the same transaction? thanks!

Yes.

Add the prepaid card to your account.

Go to the Product page (in this case, wind waker).

Try to purchase it.

At some point you'll come to a "insufficient funds" screen, which will have something along the lines of a "add remaining funds by credit card" button.

Hit that, and then it'll charge the difference (so $6 here) to your card.

Which are...?

(im already from another country setting my account as canadian, since my country isnt even listed...)

Random one I found googling which should work: 97116 (assuming you can use a USA zip)
Otherwise you can just look up "wii u no tax zip code" and find a plethora. I've never had issues using a different state CC but with a point card would have no barrier I imagine.

Yes. Nintendo is the only digital console store that lets you pay just as much as you need to.

In this case, choose "Alberta" as your province (the top one) - although they still have sales tax, it's the lowest in the country. Your tax burden at that point will be $2.50.

Just a quick note... I updated the main spreadsheet page again, but I've added a new feature. If you go to the Totals page (which loads up first), there is now a small link to a Sales page.

The Sales page should list all digital titles currently on sale, sorted by sales ending soonest. Permanent price cuts for digital titles are also listed, and will be found at the end of the sale list.

I'm not sure if I got everything, but I tried. If anyone knows of any other eShop titles that have been reduced in price or are on sale, please let me know.

Just checked. Its already set for Alberta

Did a test trying to buy Pikmin. Price + Taxes hit $67,79

Its this right?

So if I liked Rumble on Wii, but never finished it, would it be a good idea to get the 3DS version? Is it different enough to justify the purchase? In what way is it the best version?

So it looks like Twinbee and Mystical Ninja are Japan's games next week. The good news about this is that means Konami support starting (hoping to see my Castlevanias and Contras updated).

So Wii Party U is an October release at $49.99 with a Wii Motion Plus and stand? I kind of need a Motion Plus so that's basically a $10 game. I wonder how the eShop is going to treat this game? Same question applies for Wii Fit U, since the included meter is rather important, but digital ownership is attractive.

They said before launch that titles requiring hardware wouldn't be on the eShop ... we assumed that would mean Sing Party wouldn't be downloadable ...but it was. Yet I believe Wii Fit U won't be on the eShop. Wii Party U doesn't require that stand and maybe not even WM+ so there's no issue.

The 3DS version has 5 generations of Pokemon instead of just two like the first game. In addition it has a story mode with towns, dungeons, maps, and battle royales, plus once you beat the story there's still more stuff to do. The main story alone is a good 15+ hours of playtime.

Guys I want to buy Nano Assault NEO on the NA Wii U eShop but the price is $9.99 and not $6.99 which it's supposed to be, it said it's due on the 31st but that should be the last day, and it's still 10:39PM here on the 31st. I sent an email to customer support about it.

Yeah. All the deals scheduled to end today are already dead. I'm a bit puzzled, although SOME prior offers were scheduled from 9am the starting day to 9am the ending day, tied to the time the eShop update happens. It's possible the ending date means 9am PST on the ending date.

It should be $62.99 Canadian (5% tax), so unless there's some exchange rate goofiness...

Really dont know what´s the problem
I have two profiles into my WiiU. Changed both from Toronto to Alberta.
Maybe i have to wait a few days? (but i changed the first one more than a month ago)

Bit.Trip sale is already up. 5 dollars in the US eShop. In the brazilian eShop it's R$8,99, or 3,77 USD. I don't know if people with US credit cards can buy on the brazilian eShop, but if you can, it makes the deal even better.

Can't wait for Breath of Fire II! It was one of the first RPGs I managed to beat back in the day, although my understanding of the English language was very poor at the time. The very basic translation might have helped a bit, I guess.

How I feel at literally every Nintendo Download since Steamworld Dig. Come on Nintendo. This is just sad.

And Epic Mickey gets a big permanent price cut on both 3DS and Wii U. Do we know what's the price of the console title on PSN and XBLA, just for comparisons sake?
