Killzone Mercenary Beta Discussion

The only thing that bother me is that the disconnect just don't count anything to your stats, is sad that after a awesome game if you lost connection is like the game never happened.... =/
 
Downloaded the beta last night, overall I was enjoying it a lot, however it was disconnecting an awful lot, and often times my character would freeze within 5 seconds of joining a game before it would disconnect me which is frustrating because I have a fast internet connection. Other than that it looked and played great, good chance I'll pick this game up during the season.
 
They really need to fix/improve the matchmaking, too many games playing alone against 4 dudes, yeah, maybe they´re lower rank but come on, at least 3 on 2, 4 on 1 sucks
 
The thing about Beta is that once you level up enough, you start to dread doing it all over again in the retail version

Meh, you don't even appear to unlock anything worthwhile from levelling up anyway. You can buy anything from the start as long as you have enough money, of which you'll have enough to buy your preferred loadout after the first couple matches you play. The only difference you get from levelling up is the title you get and the amount of loadouts available, which to me isn't a big deal since I only use 1 loadout when I play a match anyway. 2 max, which is unlocked really quickly. Not really a big deal and it seems like this is the kind of game that is just going to be played because it's fun to play, not because I want to level up.
 
Quick question; are the Valor Cards locked in the beta? I'm only getting clubs (assault rifles), even though I haven't used an assault rifle for a good while now... I haven't picked up anything other than clubs either.

That's actually in place to make sure folks don't get rewarded for quitting early. Does your kill/death ratio not get saved as well?
 
I tried this a bit and I must say Vita's sticks are too small. Makes playing this type of game really hard. Gyro aiming is too slow even with max sensitivity. I'll probably try it a bit more.
 
I really wish there was some sort of chat in the game. It's really frustrating when team members don't understand the concept of warzone yet and just go for the kills.
 
After nearly 30 hours in the beta, the only real issue I noticed were the spawn points.
Can't wait to play the full game.

For me the spawn points are defaintly the worst thing ( I would even say they are probably broken)

I have a few smaller issues, like the m82 may be a bit too powerful as a default weapon or bullet damage is too high/ aim assist is a bit too much or there needs to be better control on how active bots/ the vanguard things are too ( sometimes it feels like are 3 sky furies at once) but nothing too crazy.
Overall seems to be well balanced.
 
Holy shit this is great. I had Plus access, but I had to visit my dad to dl it, real bad connection here. That's why I originally didn't try it after getting it, but now I have and played straight through my battery charge. I don't lag, it seems, so the 1 Mb connection (on a VERY good day) can handle that much, as long as nobody else browses.

Great game.

I haven't gotten a melee kill or interrogation and failwd my only counter, got shot when doing my first revive, but otgerwise I hacked shit,got cards, some bronze medals or whatever, finished in the later games with an almost even or positive kd/r,a good amount of objective points...even though I managed to arrive a second or two after a team mate 90% of time in the last game.

My complaints so far: gyro aiming should allow for a greater range of motion and be faster. A(n better?) way to tell how much health I have. Don't spwan me before the barrel of a gun. Only happened in the first round often enough to be annoying, rarely in the rounds after, but this is NOT how you greet a noob. Team balancing and swapping players around when the game starts! four against one. A couple of times some guys were unkillable or took several mags, no idea of health is glitchy or one of lagged (no warping, though).

Questions: I couldn't buy another gun before rounds, because of indecision, is the arms dealer available during the game?

Overall, pretty good for a beta, but the game is close, so I hope they can improve the spawns and gyro day one or week one.

Now, my card is always full and my dl speed is dreadful, but I think I'll want this game avilable for quick gaming sessions.
 
In the morning we've made the usual party and when entered we played good 2 games of FFA when clearly warzone was selected ! Anyone else had it unlocked earlier today.We quit and and since then FFA is locked again.Bug?Servers opened already?

Basically:

1) Make a party on the vita (it could just be you in the party)
2) Start the beta and in the multiplayer menu, choose "party match"
3) You'll be in an empty lobby. Just choose "launch game".

(If you notice, the game mode will say "Mercenary Warfare").

That's it! I just tried it and it does work. I got into a game with 3 other people. Mercenary Warfare = Free for All.

Played via ps+. Wonderful to look at controls are fine. I am bored of one cramped map now. Bring out full game please.
 
If the beta is designed to show how hard it is to get into a game, then it is a huge success.

But I picked it up again in the past few days and I have not been able to put it down since, idk if its because suddenly everything sort of clicked for me (also looked up how to run) or if its actually due to the influx of noob FSP shooter players entering into the beta because it went completely free, is giving me just enough time to get accustomed to all my prior grips with the game. Probably the latter.

You may not get into a full room. The most I've seen is the 3 other people. Let's see what happened when I keep trying. If someone on your friend's list is in a free for all room, they can join you. I just tried this with fellow GAF'er, Drizzt

Just to be clear, I was referring to the inability to connect to the game rather than any gameplay aspect. I've had about 5 games out of 100 attempts. I've a nat type 2. It's a total pain in the posterior.

When does this MP beta end? I've just downloaded it and wondered if there was nay point in actually installing it onto my Vita?

I'm assuming it's pretty soon given that the game is about to be released.

just downloaded the demo today, took me 3 matches to get to the top of the leaderboard. Game is a mix between th core tactical gameplay of KZ2 and the casual cod friendly gameplay of KZ3. Somethings I like somethings I dont more annoyances tht actual terrible atributes. Once a dedicated core emerges and peope start workng together the gme will be pretty hard to lose. I think Ive seen enough, will wait for the finial version. Also think this will be the first time I compete single player before I got to multiplayer
 
I played a chunk of single-player at a Sony preview event and it was amazing. They're sending us the game on launch-day for participating, so I can't wait to break some Hig necks on the bus.
