I played for a bit during early launch, but have been busy this past week during the actual launch. I went to log in, and it said I don't have an account. I checked the forums, and it won't let me log in because I don't have an active character. Then I tried the https://secure.square-enix.com site...I see I have FFXIV on there, it says inactive...but I can't find any way to actually subscribe to the game? Am I crazy? What am I missing here?

Nobody is saying problem solved, or at least they shouldn't be. But it would certainly help for the LITTLE RESOURCES they have to commit to make it happen.

What do you mean "most" people have bots to login. I call bullshit on that. So 51%+ of FFXIV players have bots to login? Let's rule out every PS3 player. Then look at the PC base and you think at least 51% of those ppl have bots? LOL

Of the people willing to run the game all day, I think 51% are willing to download a program to be able to stay logged in. You don't? I mean leaving the game running while you sleep seems extream, but downloading a program, oh god no that's crazy talk.

Man, this is really turning into the worst online launch I have seen.

I haven't been able to play for 2 days straight, and that's from spamming my login for 1-2 hours multiple times a day. Prior to the weekend, I had pretty good luck if I spammed around the 30 min mark or the 50 min mark of each hour, but now it seems like even that doesn't work.

Have they even said what the new stuff they are adding to their datacenter is? I'm really hoping it's increasing the concurrent population per world and not just adding new worlds. Adding new worlds isn't going to fix anything, especially if they don't give free transfers.

Also, being almost a full week after launch and they still don't have an AFK kicker and a proper queue system is just sad.

So guys, what is the best time to try and log in to the game? It's 6.32p.m. here right now, and I can't even get the game to find the NA/EU servers, but I don't feel it's fun to close and restart the client every time to try and get over that one problem. Should I do like Saturday, and wait for tomorrow morning to even hope to get on?

Did you enter your actual game key? Because if you just entered your early access key that would have worked until the 29th, that's why.

You said a login bot. Meaning a bot to keep hitting 0 for you while you login. I'm calling bullshit on that, also on the fact that over 51% of the population would download a bot to stay not AFK.

Hrm, I got two different emails with two different Early Access codes, and nothing else. I assume this is a "call tech support" problem at this point, yes?

[edit] Oh, I was able to get the code through findmyorder.com, lets see if this works...

YEP! Phew. Now to not be able to log in due to no queues!

I haven't been able to log in since Thursday, pretty bummed. Ended up resubbing to WoW to fill that MMO fix until SE gets everything figured out.

Not the whole population, just the population already leaving characters logged in (which I think is a small % of the pop.)

And I only mentioned the login bot because its not like you have to get a new Afk bot, there is already a relatively well known bot.

I have no idea how popular the login bot is.

I have a question concerning stat allocation for my Paladin. Strength will increase my blocking reduction and threat mitigation, while Vitality gives me more health. So far I have been increasing my Str/Vit in a 1:2 ratio respectively. I have heard that paladin has a lot less health than warrior but have more damage reduction. Should I continue wit the 1:2 Str:Vit ratio or go with 1:3 ratio?

I come home from work, ready to persevere my way into the game, only to met with the most annoying error message yet -- 'Unable to complete version check', popping up after double-clicking the desktop icon(!). I don't even get to the client anymore! Fucking great.

This thread shows others with the problem and it seems most have been able to fix it. Not me though. I've checked the router settings, I've made sure folder permissions are correct and I've replaced my boot folder with a working boot folder. Still nothing. I guess all I can do now is reinstall the whole damn thing.

It worked fine yesterday. My PC's been off all day. I come home and suddenly it doesn't work. I'm exasperated and confused and more than a little fed up. :[

EDIT: Oh, and sorry for the useless post. Allow me the vent.

Anyone knows how do they calculate the Armoury Bonus (the exp bonus for classes lower than your highest)?

Has it been normal for it to be so difficult to get on at this time of day? I just finished work and was really looking forward to an evening of questing...

Not necessarily, but today is also labor day so there's probably quite a bit more people attempting to login.

A quick question:

My brother has the game on his PC. Could I log in to his PC client using my SE account details and continue playing my character?

Or do I need to buy a copy of the PC game and register it to my account or something?!

All the information I've found says "the difference between your highest level and the class you're leveling," but that's not very descriptive at all.

Made it through Copperbell this morning. No problems except for one pull where a bomb exploded (I think) and took eeeeverybody out except for me, since I was standing a ways back. Saw the bomb making a beeline for me and had a "holy shit what do I do" moment before I remembered how to fight (lol), at which point I furiously cure-tanked it until the rest of the party made it back to my location. Good thing it was the only mob left or I probably would've been screwed.

That made me feel good, haha. I need to start shopping around for a guild, though; this PUG stuff is not gonna cut it if the dungeons get harder from here on.

Fucking typical. while I wait for a dungeon on a DPS I want to play some other console so I take out my headphones from my PC to plug into my TV, I get a spot, put them back into my PC and I don't get sound from FFXIV. Why does this shit fucking happen. Not just with FFXIV but other things? Can't it detect that the exact same pair of headphoens are in the exact same hole and still need the sound from the exact same programs running!?
Only way to get sound back is to relaunch the program whch means an hour + in the queues again. Fucking piece of shit windows PC.

When I leveled THM, I noticed a straight up +50% boost to my exp. I already have several classes at 50 so I assumed it was armoury bonus. Hope that helps a bit.

Ok, I'm done - can't even get my login macro to go now since the NA/EU server list won't populate, and even before that I am getting 2002 lobby errors all the time. This is vanilla WOW all over again.

If you already have a PC service then yes. If you play on PS3 only then I think you need a copy of the PC game for it to let you login... Not really sure though.

So...this is hardly conclusive, but I turned on the FPS limiter again, and I was able to go through Haukke Manor without crashing. I never had these crashes in beta or the first couple of days of release, and I didn't turn off the limiter until some time after release, though I don't remember exactly when.

It's probably coincidental, but who knows.

Do they ever explain shit like, why it's called "Scions of the Seventh Dawn"? Or is it just typical Final Fantasy lore not making sense stuff?

They're trying to lead the world out of the Seventh Umbral Era into another Astral Era. Since the world started in an Astral Era, the seventh dawn would be the start of the Eighth.

...I think.

You need to buy a PC version and register it to your account to play on PC.

The Seventh Dawn refers to the Seventh Umbra era that FFXIV ARR 2.0 starts in. The Sixth Umbra was during FFXIV 1.0, the released of Bahamut herald the Seventh Umbra.
