It's been so long since I unlocked my Scholar and managed to play (last thursday). I feel like that when this server issues and whatnot are over, I'll roll a new character.
The thing about this game having an absolute spot-on pacing and learning curve makes a week without play that much harder. On the other hand, ugh, the lost of progress.
I don't know what to do. Fuck you game for being so good and having such a troubled launch.

http://www.xivdb.com seems to list quite a few recipes for each profession, check that to see if the armorer recipes are to your liking.
A good ACN can quite literally carry the party in low level dungeons.
A lot of people complain about Topaz I guess, but he/she was a far better tank in my Coppermine run early this morning than our actual tank. he could not keep adds off our healer, so to prevent our healer from getting walied on/dying I would bind/grab hate and kite, but i can't do that very well in a hallway. Once the ACN brought out Topaz the healer went from panicked to almost bored lol. This happened quite often when I was leveling my ACN in lower levels, prevented at least 5 boss wipes and my party was grateful. And just about the time they start scaling off, you have SMN and SCH and a bunch of new pets.
It's not all roses cause they have some weird and specific problems with some of the Pet AI and by being the only class with jobs in multiple roles after 30, but it definitely doesn't feel like a waste.
Edit: and yes 15 THM for SMN.

I didn't manage to log on Ultros, but I managed to log on Shiva, so I played a little bit my Miqo'te Gladiator and even got to do my first Satasha (I thought tanks had instant queues? took me 15 minutes to get a group!).
Compared to the groups I find when playing as a healer on Ultros, this one was quite boring. People didn't answer to my hello, didn't answer me when I asked if they wanted to clear the other rooms and didn't say anything at the end either.

Oh yeah I know, thats how it was during 1.0. I kinda wish Ifrit had a better battle theme, since it really doesnt seem to fit imo. I havent had a change to fight Titan yet.
Speaking of which, for those didnt have the pleasure of fighting Nael (Deus) van Darnus, you should here 1.0 "decisive battle".

I bet there are soooo many scenes out there already.
Pre-30 healers get the instant queues since there is only one base class that can do it. After 30 it turns instant for tank. I couldn't tell you why, except that maybe a lot of ACN like me wanted to be healers before getting SCH and role check won't let them.

Yeah, so far i've had a good run with duty finder party add ons or majority parties. Usually if you start a conversation they'll talk...but nothing worse than having a party full of stoic silent types.

Question about the soundtrack; does Before Meteor include the current soundtrack as well?
Now I'm kind of confused.
Do I need to be 15 THM + 30 Arcanist. Or Level 15 Arcanist + Level 15 THM? I'm assuming I need to hit level 30 in Arcanist, then 15 in the other.

30 ACN, 15 THM. The quest itself to become a Summoner is level 30 and appears after completing the level 30 class quest.
Last week I didn't have any problem signing in in the wee hours of the morning and playing while everyone else was at school and working. It's evenings and weekends that signing on is impossible.

I have such a MP problem with the Aiatar fight on my WHM
If the tank and dps are not on their A game I am running out of MP and even if they are it's hell trying not to run out with all the cures and spam heals..
I am guessing SCH has a much easier time during this fight? It's not so much the burst healing that is needed but a lot of MP if the group keeps dragging him through the poison pools.
Or maybe I just suck
There is not that much different one can do than cure cure cure and cure II if freecure procs and Esuna in between to cleanse the poison..right?
It's rough on Scholar too. You just need a good party to make it work.

The better bet is exactly how long the downtime will be extended.
Why don't they just keep it simple and add the ability to use duty finder within your own server? =/
Regarding Aletar fight: Maybe I had an easier time because LNC's stun timer was short enough that I managed to stun his big attack at a very good rate. If it got through though, my tank wasn't quick enough and always got blasted in the face with it. I think I've ended up tanking the final boss in my last four dungeons. =x My girlfriend's CNJ tanked Toto-rak's! lol

This has been my experience since Friday.
I'm at the point now that if these upgrades don't fix things I'm walking away. I got to get the client for free and even free time from buying the game originally. However that isn't going to make me excuse his crap. Memories of frustration with 1.0 are coming back to the surface every single time I get a 1017 server full message.What's worse is that the message kicks me to the start menu. Not even back to the character select screen. Doesn't even kick me to a queue and when it does I still get the error message. That's just infuriating.

Just completed it... (main scenario).
Epic mmo with most epic fights i've encountered and with everything top notch... had a blast in the process, even though the end game community can stink (specially tanks and healers because they are wanted they think they can behave however they want, i'm one though
)
It will be epic if the game's patch are as good as what we got from the main scenario

I think even if it is the exact same errors, they might get new numbers.
