Is there a way to do an emote and have it loop itself for a while?
As I said above, the old style FF11 leveling method is just way too solid-block-of-time-oriented for the majority of MMO players. I could swing it when I was younger, but not anymore. I know that's the case for others as well. With the Grounds of Valor parties, you can join/leave whenever you want with no pressure.
What I mean is that the method never truly changed, just the EXP amount. Traditional FFXI parties people stopped doing because the monsters don't give the same amount of EXP as a page. The biggest factor, however, was that the game had no party finder system and required on shouts. It was plain confusing sometimes to get into a party due to this. Modern MMOs for a long time have had party finders for EXP and such, but FFXI for whatever reason never had one added. What also made it more difficult was that the classes weren't balanced for EXP partying, at least, not all of them. I do think a auto party searcher/creator would benefit FFXI greatly.
It was made easier by an alliance for GoV because they pretty much admitted with the system that since there isn't a auto party finder, then there has to be a way where just about anyone can join in and play (this was what level sync was originally designed for which you know). Since an alliance pretty much mooted all that, and sticking to designed "spots" because of the book locations for EXP where people with word of mouth could get access to, this essentially became that system.
Anyhow, on to my point. In the previous way you leveled, you had someone tank, you had some DD, and you had a healer. You pulled an enemy, or two, to a spot and killed it for EXP. The method is still the same, it's just that since there are so many people there, you get quantity over quality, and that fills the void of no party finder. You still of course need healers and people using their bodies as shields, but no one has to be an outright tank since there are so many bodies.
I just personally find that the nuisance is what held people back, at least, that was my complaint over that.
I think you may have missed the point of my comment all together.
I didn't say people completed end game content, but there are people already picking up their darklight sets of armor and getting really close to or are getting their relic weapons. I'm also not saying there isn't end game content, but it will be what people will cite as to why they left the game after only a month.
Yes. That's what everyone does. Are there groups that farm Dark Devices - The Plea? Seems like insane XP if you just farm the start for 15 minutes.
That is exactly what people do.Are there groups that farm Dark Devices - The Plea? Seems like insane XP if you just farm the start for 15 minutes.
No one has beaten the end game content yet. NO ONE. Why are people saying this crazy shit about no endgame?
Is there a partyfinder in this? I've been shouting around for fate parties mostly lol.
Sorry for the repost, but is the ps3 version worth snagging or am I better off waiting until I build a PC? I've read that using the ds3 is pretty solid compared to kb+m but am still curious about the overall polish/load times. Also have the server issues been alleviated at all?

I swear... I hear about these things and by time I ever get to a point to exploit it, it's usually not around anymore. Mostly cause I just refuse to rush to get to it. I get that some people are just playing more than I am... but I'm like level 22 and I haven't even bothered to level anything other than Arcanist right now. *chuckles*
I thought i read that Bahmut was already cleared, is there anything past him currently?
Where can I find Boar Hide? These friggin' Toads for Giantoad Hide are a pain in the arse!
You might be able to use a macro to do it X amount of times, but not endlessly that I know of.

Vibrancy (and SMAA) is the most basic and common SweetFX setting, but you can do some really crazy shit with that program.
It's a fascinating tool, and we PC gamers are lucky to have it. And ENB, of course. Fucking love PC gaming.
SweetFX is so difficult to learn and setup properly, though, it really is a lot of Google searching and trial and error to come up with some settings that you think improve the image, rather than ruining it.
It is ridiculously fucking easy to completely destroy the art of a game with SweetFX by just tweaking a couple innocent values. For some reason, many people really love to crank down the Gamma and crush the shit out of blacks, I can't stand that.
What some people were doing to Bioshock Infinite earlier this year was downright criminal. I saw some screenshots of that game that were just absolutely disgusting and completely ruined the artistic integrity with, like, crazy Sepia filters and shit. That's not how to use SweetFX.
Much of the magic of SweetFX is making minor decimal adjustments and seeing if you like the nearly insignificant difference. If you're doing it right, or learning it right.
Plenty of people just open up Notepad and start punching in random fucking numbers wherever they feel like it and then try to share that shit with the world.

Can anyone sell me on this? I've been an on and off again WoW fan since TBC and like trying new MMO's. I never got a chance to try the original XIV but have heard some good things about ARR.
Whats so great about this MMO?
I think the PS3 version is just fine. The graphics aren't the same as PC can be obviously, but the loading times are generally the same and I haven't seen any more issues on PS3 than PC.
The server issues are better by a mile, but not fixed in the 100% sense.

Just created a new character on Ultros. Still going by Eight Corova maybe I will see some of you around.
If you're pouring in 400-500 hours of play time in the space of a month, you tend to get a lot of shit done. You could play through every mainline FF.
Some IT jobs can wing allowing someone to man a help-desk like position or a monitoring servers position where they can play games and just have to make themselves available whenever any calls come in.where do i find a job that lets me put 17 hours a day into an MMO?
It's extremely easy and convenient with regard to leveling - FATEs which are public events are FYI grinded for up to 250k an hour (I took a tank from lv36 to max 50 in 2 days).
Supposedly the end game raiding content is really good but there isn't much being talked about.
The story is cool and for the most part can be solo'd. It has quest hubs like WoW and you teleport around instead of using flight paths.
Boss mechanics are great, lot of challenge. It has an instance finder that is working well now.
Definitely worth trying out!
The stacking happened to me as well, I didn't think anything of it at the time because the first +3 went through, but then looking at the item when selling it I noticed the second +2 in RED! I tried looking online for any answers and I'm stumped![]()
Sword Oath is a flat 20% buff to Auto Attack only.
Fight or Flight is a blanket damage buff to everything.
Sword Oath is only really useful if you're trying to offtank and just damage or temporarily swap to with bloodbath for bigger heals.
Man. I guess I'm going to have to find some group or something. This quest is hard.. I only managed to knock a small sliver of his HP.Its when the crown gets stolen by the hood guy. So after fighting a bunch of mobs and him, I have to fight a mage that summons a big boss
I guess you can't hire A.I NPC to help? I don't think its even a dungeon. its just a ! with a different border than usual.

Thanks that pretty much sold me on it xD
Hows the combat?

Is that the quest for the Sultana?Make sure you are ignoring the mage and just concentrating on his summon. Once the summon is dead then go after the mage.
Don't fight the hood guy, AT ALL. Game is misleading you when it says to defeat him. Focus on the Gargoyle mob, bring a Antidote and do your best damage to the gargoyle. At a certain % of the gargoyles HP, Thancred will appear to give help/heal you.
You can't party up for this quest. Just focus on the gargoyle and stock up on antidotes.
Just created a new character on Ultros.
How? Isn't Ultros still locked to new character creation?
